This just in from Adobe / Fotolia:
"As you know, Adobe acquired Fotolia earlier this year and later launched Adobe Stock, a stock image service integrated into Adobe Creative Cloud. As a result your images are now available to the world’s largest creative community.
We’re pleased with the early adoption of the product and we’re happy to see that many of you have already shared your feedback of increased sales.
We will be running a promotion from September 1st to September 20th to further ensure that your images are receiving the maximum amount of exposure to potential new clients and to accelerate awareness of the site.
For a limited time, we will be offering a 50% discount on all single images purchased, £2.99 per image instead of the usual £5.99.
We wanted to inform you that, regardless of this discount occurring, your commission will be unaffected and you will continue to generate royalties at the current rate.

Got the email too. I had a very strange feeling while reading it... For the first time in my life I felt that I'm working with not for somebody. And this somebody is treating me fair, not just exploiting my work and paying me pennies. I hope this tactics results in growing and they keep the policy!

This is the right business relationship, we invest in creating photos, they invest in marketing and sales. Each side have to bear its part of the commitment.
Correct and fairly on their part!

you are simply naive, one download sales are small percentage of all sales. 5€ sales in europe, i should get 2-2,5€, will i get? no!

It's good to see them taking the sale losses out of their share. Haven't had too many sales since I joined the new Adobe Fotolia but I'm encouraged to upload the rest of my micro portfolio there as people seem to be seeing growth there.
I had asked a question in another thread about Fotolia Instant and haven't seen a response - anyone uploading smartphone photos there and any results? Just uploaded a handful the other day and wondering if I should keep uploading more?

This is not great! Actually this is the most normal thing we are just spoiled by the terrible treatment of other agencies, in comparison to these agencies it looks great but again most normal thing. Anyway thank you Adobe for reasonable fairness!

Discount will only last 3 weeks, not forever.

It would be very good news if I weren't on their blacklist - I've asked if, under new ownership, they'd allow me to contribute and after waiting a couple of months asked again and was told that there wasn't any answer yet, but the delay probably meant "no".
So forgive me for not joining in this celebration of the new contributor friendly Adobe owned Fotolia.

Sites have sales all the time. All the other sites don't lower their prices in response. And Adobe and SS still pay the same royalties when they have a sale -- unlike iS, who cut royalties along with prices. Of all the sites, iS should be paying the most attention to this. I wish they'd follow suit and keep paying us the same royalties...lord knows they're the lowest royalties in the industry.

I think you should expect prices to be lower than most everywhere else. My guess is in the 30-50 dollar range.

I think nit picking would have been bringing to your attention your typo of "us" knowing full well you meant to say "is". It is also not about "one word" and the point you were trying to make, rather it is about a very clear sentence and the point you did make that states "so nice to read that Adobe is treating us as partners." (corrected for that typo). Not sure what you were trying to say, but being a fairly accurate language I would interpret what you said as you have read somewhere that Adobe is treating everyone as partners. That sentence is not even trying to say you read it, it is saying you read it.

Well, first, let me apologize for any grammar or typing errors. I often use my phone or tablet to respond and make more typos then when using my computer keyboard. Reading this forum it is the rare person who never makes any typos or grammar mistakes.

I guess you thought I meant partners as in a joint legal entity. I meant partners more like in the 1st and 7th definitions here:

Basically trying to say they are treating us as tho we contributors are on the same team as Adobe and that they seem to understand they have a joint interest in sharing the fruits of our labours in a fair manner.

I haven't checked out Adobe Stock very well, are the prices for photos lower compared to Fotolia? I would have expected them to remain the same.

I haven't checked out Adobe Stock very well, are the prices for photos lower compared to Fotolia? I would have expected them to remain the same.
Depending on your level Adobe could be 1/3 the price maybe less.

I think it would be a huge gesture to the contributor community if Adobe considered allowing Jo Ann back on board. As you read these forums you know that she is around the two or three contributors that have done most to keep us all informed and is always fair and polite in her treatment of agency reps and so on. I think it would really help cement the feeling that things are changing for the better.
