Last year they only chose one.

So this year I am nominating all 98 they suggested, but I am not really expecting them to take them all.

I think it is good to have a few files that push port visibility.

ETA:

I now did opt out 20.

Hope they take all the others.

Mat, can you please conform that the "checkbox" on the left with the blue color means an image IS  nominated and the one without the color means it is NOT nominted?

Because last year a lot of my images that I am absolutely sure I did not nominate ended up in the free collection, so this year I want to rule out any mistaked on my side.

I'm not Mat but BLUE is nominated. I clicked all and they all turned from grey to blue. Now I'm selecting the individual that I will not nominate. You can see them one by one by checking Eligible For Free Collection.

They can be sorted by number of downloads or date.

did you photoshoped the buttons together or do you have 2 buttons visible?
2 buttons for an image would be weird. blue = nominate

Mat,
I nominated a couple last year which they took but there is one I now want to remove. I've read everything on the site and can't figure out how to remove it. It shows the little box with free underneath and it has the same nominate button as the 90 other possibilities, but I can't imagine that leaving the nominate button in the gray is sufficient since the rules say it automatically ticks over year to year.
Can you kindly explain how to remove it?
Thanks!

Thanks for the question @Wordplanet.The automatic renewal did not get applied this year. You are opted out by default right now. You must actively nominate your eligible files if you want them considered for the Free collection offer. If you don't want to nominate the asset again this year, no action is required.

I take much better photographs than yours and I don't need to give them away for free.  8)

Looks like a tiny collection of just a very small number of contributors.

Would be interesting if they invite the rest of us.

I think a few free files can really help lift the visibility of a portfolio

I guess the criteria are different?
Previous years it was media with no sales (or recent) but this year ive got a LOT of them appearing with 100 or so sales on here previously.

The criteria is the same according o the mail: Not more than  assets that have been downloaded 4 or more times in the paid collection in the last 12 months.

I will opt-in all my suggested assets,as for me they can put them all in the free collection, because they pay me,and I always have all my best sellers on sale plus thousands more contents and selected content will only remain in the free collection for one year.
However, they will most likely only select a small percentage as usual.

It's a tricky balancing act.

A few things:

- once something has been free it tends to be "in the wild" in large numbers forever more.  This potentially affects future sales after that 12 months.

- Sometimes things sell well elsewhere but not here.  Making it free could affect sales elsewhere.

- If you have similar images paid to free (but not the same) buyers might select the free and not the paid

Its a balancing act everyone needs to make for themselves and what works for one person may not work for another.

Maybe yes, what works for one person may not work for another.

However,I think instead that:
-If I have similar images in the free collection this can attract potential customers to look in my portfolio.

-From what I have been able to verify,I have sold the same content to other agencies,in fact I don't even think that whoever downloaded that content was aware that it was available in the Adobe free collection.

-I thought so too,but from what I've seen it seems to me that nothing has changed, and once the content came out of the free collection it started selling again as usual.

I believe that the best thing to do is to opt-in for all possible content, and to take money for our work, especially if you have a portfolio of at least 5,000 contents.

Still undecided on these.
I've got about 3,700 eligible assets, roughly 1500 of those have never sold on *Adobe* but many have elsewhere (several are best sellers).

3 more days of deciding then changing my mine and altering to go!

really impressive, you are very good! :D
I think that every result above 1000 uploads per year especially for many consecutive years is very difficult, but then of course it also depends on the kind of content.

I asked for a payout on May 29. Usually the payment arrives like clockwork 7 days later.

But now the payout hasn`t happened, day 11.

Is it possible that payouts are being delayed to add the bulk payments from free collection images?

Or is this just happening with me?

I just looked up my payments and it has never been always 7 days like clockwork for me:
May: 7 days, April: 7 days, March: 10 days, February: 10 days, Janury: 6 days, Dezember: 11 days.
Always something between 6 and 11 days.

I don't think paymets from the free collection will be coming in before the images have even been selected and payment added to our accounts. That would be weird.

Probably days/week or two? Depends when last year free collection was posted on Adobe? You know the date? Pretty sure they will replace old with new one and there should be no gap between it. Unless they won't have free collection for a month+ online but i doubt that.

Got some money that can't be attributed to any sale, so I assume results are in? Unless this is the payment for the Ai training we never agreed to (in which case that little money would in no way make up for the damage that was caused).
The amount of images that are now listed when I select the "free" filter and the amount of money I got do not add up, I am missing like $100, so I am not sure what this is...

You go to your Adobe account (website) and select free under "filter by price level" - then you see all the photos in the FreeCollection.
You can then count through them quite quickly :-)

As mentioned in the previous posts, the Free collection for photos is currently being updated. Content that was online from last year but not approved or nominated this year is being removed from the collection. Newly approved images are being added to the collection, and payments are being added to your account balance.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Unfortunately, there isn't an easy way to call the earnings out in the contributor portal. JustanImage has shared one good workaround. Another, way to confirm payment is to check your earnings status from today. Note the amount and then add up your earnings from individual sales in he Activity statistics. There should be a difference of the amount added for your approved Free assets.

An email will be sent but has not yet been deployed.

Please keep in mind, this is an ongoing process and it does not all happen at once. I'll post here when the updates are complete, today.

Thanks,

Mat Hayward

Is this a one-off hit of all being reviewed or is it in bursts ?  (I seem to recall the first one came over multiple periods of review)

If your balance has been updated, that is most likely the final amount for now. There is always the possibility of future waves of approvals but I am not aware of any scheduled at this time. Not all contributor accounts are complete at this moment. It takes time to update all content. Thanks for your patience!

Looks like it's done.

Had about 3,800 eligible, I nominated just under 300 of them and got 40 approved.
Roughly same rate as last time which is what i expected.

No you didn't, what I'm saying is its in dollar now for all so for  same amount photos sold i lost value. Yes, yes you in US and you don't see problem but i don't pay bills in dollars and my sells are 80% local sales in EU and customers don't pay in dollar either. I don't mind if customer pay in dollar and commission is in dollar but if customer pay in € or £. Trying understand how it is done. Do EU customers pay equivalent of dolar value? We getting commission Right? Again UK and EU customers don't pay in dollars. My question then is, are prices of subscriptions are 1:1 between countries or it always equals to value of "1$" after convertion?

In the UK, last year I received £5 per image, this year I only received £3.83.....Should really receive $6.36 per image if you live in the UK but I guess that is a selfish POV :-)

6 but I still see a bunch of older ones, available, making it 16 total. The one from last year that I didn't check and removed from the offer, is gone already. I'm with you, thanks for the money for images that may have made $4 total, in the last years.

you got paid a bonus in the past because you were paid in a different currency. Now you don't get that bonus anymore. That is unfortunate for you, but not something everyone else who didn't get that bonus is going to get all bent out of shape about.

I once schemed about how to sign up for Fotolia in GB so I would get paid in pounds which was a substantial bonus at the time. I didn't go through with it though.

Reading the numbers from you and other serious people, it looks like the program is working and they have expanded.

I’m quite sure we received £3.75 per image in the UK last year and all previous ones… as it, as well as all income, was based on the pound being worth a fixed $0.75 which was under its actual value, conversion rate.

The real question is how it's converted internally. Customers buy in different currencies. My point is that if someone bought my license for 100£ I should get "30£" commission not 30$ commission . So question is if it's converted 1:1. Subscription program just make it easier to do it that way under the radar and grab extra money
