Title: Adobe now allows FTP upload only for "qualified" accounts
Post by: ribtoks on June 22, 2024, 00:50
e.g. https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/uploading-content.html (https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/uploading-content.html)

And it goes without explaining what "qualified" means.

Does anybody here have any experience with that?

I see this when I click "Upload" button.  Does it mean I'm qualified?  I don't upload video to Adobe Stock anymore.  So, I don't really need FTP upload anymore.

There is a big disadvantage, after import the categories are not populated automatically and you have to do it manually by clicking on each image one by one.

How do you get categories populated auomatically? I've always needed to 'manually' set them... Thanks!

As a reminder, you can now upload video content directly into the contributor portal using the drag and drop method into the blue upload circle. SFTP is not required for this.

When I upload via web uploader the images become with categories preselected by Adobe, then you can change them if needed. In the web uploader always some of the files are without populated categories and are with red dot, but just a little part of all. When you use FTP all imported images are with red dot and no categories populated. At least this is my experience.

Thank you, Matt, for the reminder! This feature is useful when I only have a few videos to upload.

You can use the button "Refresh Auto-Category" Button at the very bottom on the right hand side of the web interface. You may have to scroll down.

Just mark "Select all" and then "Refresh Auto-Category". No need to do it manually.

SFTP is not required for this.

FTP was the most convenient way for majority of the users.

Matt, do you know what does it take to be "qualified"?

Are there any news regarding ftp uploads?

I was able to upoad my files (vector illustrations/eps) until Thursday. Since Friday I tried to upload (I use Xpiks - test connection was ok) my new files several times, they never appear online. I hope I am still qualified?  ;D

If you see FTP credentials on Adobe portal when you press "Upload" (in "Learn more" link), then you're qualified.

As to why your files don't appear - hard to know. Might be anything from a bug, to files being automatically rejected/deleted for any technical issues. Might be a good idea to ask Adobe support.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I still see the ftp credentials, so I will follow your advice and contact adobe. Thanks.

Edit: I found out myself, typical case of Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair  ;D So for anyone else having struggles with Adobe Stock FTP upload, make sure to deactivate "Zip Vector with Preview" in the advanced options. That was never a problem before, so I guess there has been some changes I didn't notice - but it works again, yai  8)

SFTP is not working. There is a connection, but nothing is uploading. How are others?
