@Raul.Ceron

Hi Raul,

Are you able to shed any light on the roulette style of inspections and rejections? I think a lot of us would like to be informed of why the rejections are so random, unpredictable, and in many cases senseless. Is there a bug at Adobe that is causing this? There are pages and pages of concern from contributors on this forum. It takes a lot of effort to produce content and upload. The reason given to have work randomly rejected with a cookie cutter 'quality issue' or 'similar' when neither of those apply. Uploading to Adobe is an incredibly frustrating event, bordering on being a waste of time, because of the random rejections. I think we all understand rejection but this is way beyond logic.

I have been a full time stock photographer for 40+ years and I have never seen anything like what is going on from Adobe with the random rejections. I don't have the time to re-submit my work in hopes of winning at the roulette style of getting my images accepted. My acceptance rate at many other agencies is very high and sells with frequency.

If you would be so kind as to explain to us what is going on and give us all some clarity it would go a very long way in the goodwill department. I am not asking you to share trade secrets, but a little bit of professional courtesy from Adobe would go a long way.

Thanks in advance.

Great summary and exactly how most of us feel.

Prediction:

A)  No response from Raul.AiBot  (85%)
B)  Cookie-cutter reply with web link that explains nothing pertinent to current situation (15%)

I recently have had sets with very unreasonably high rejection rates.

Very good summary of the situation and very polite and restrained.

I feel like there has been a shift somewhere at Adobe towards the contributors. Not from the mods and team directly working with us.

Somewhere higher up in the chain someone has decided we are just useless little creator ants, probably soon to be replaced by ai software completely and our experience and frustrations don't matter at all.

But we are all also clients of Adobe, we use Adobe software, we pay for subscriptions and: we recommend Adobe to clients and friends as a good place to buy stock from. A company that has the reputation of treating the community fairly.

However, this feeling of being in a win win for everyone involved system is now broken.

Random roulette rejections make no sense. Not for the buyers who are missing out on useful content, not for creators and especially not for the designers who are uploading project contents as stock to offset some of the costs of Adobesubscriptions or buying stock.

How long until the mass frustration leads to people cancelling Adobe software subscriptions? Or moving stock contracts to a mix of istock and dreamstime?

istock anyway has much better search results if sorted by newest. I was suprised to discover that a search for people/newest on Adobe leads me to isolated watermelons, croissants, spa images, simple flowers and not enough variety of  people.

Please talk to us?

What happened???

The creator community will also happily assist in any beta testing projects.

These portfolios are part of our lives and business. We rely on the money to feed our families. This is not a hobby, real costs for rent, healthcare, schools is being paid with stock income.

Please fix this very, very serious issue.

Look at what happened to Shutterstock after they "broke up" with the creator community 3 years ago.  What happened to them and their stock price??

The creator community might be millions, but we are not idiots. We put our support behind agencies that treat us well.

Adobe was probably the best of them all lately (with exceptions of smaller places like Dreamstime or walled garden agencies like stocksy)

So, I accidentally uploaded two duplicates, not sure how I made that mistake but on reviewing the photos... exact same file, exact same meta, exact same filename. To my amazement, they were both approved.
I find the inconsistency the most frustrating part. There are clearly problems with the approval system.

I am beginning to think it's AI program doing the reviews now.

If it was actually working I wouldn't mind. Would speed up reviews by a lot.

But reviews are still slow and stuck and random.

Yes, it would be great ot hear from Raul.
Same here, 14+ years of submitting images to adobe, 14k port, crazy rejection rates that never happened before.
Clearly something is going on, it would be nice to have some clarification.

Inconsistency is because of AI;  software program full of bugs, with tweaks - and new bugs - introduced daily.  Whatever passes by AI does end in Human Reviewer basket, but he/she most likely doesn't even check anything - just transfers live.    Human check might happen only for Illustrative Editorial because it's more sensitive

Besides inconsistency, lack of transparency ("please tell us what is going on") is the frustrating part.   What I would do is compose carefully crafted announcement, post here as well as chain email to all contributors.   It would go something like this:

Quote
Dear contributor:

Due to success of Adobe Stock Platform we are overwhelmed by amount of contributions that seems to increase daily.  This has caused review time delays. We are in the process of automating parts of our review process, that besides Technical quality is also designed to ensure unique content.  Platform is still in experimental stage;  we apologize for inconsistencies and mistakes that creep in.   We are also modifying system to provide more details about cause of rejections.   We appreciate your patience and thank you for helping our Platform with your contributions.

But what are you talking about here?  :D

I have a portfolio of 500 illustrative editorials,600 vectors,500 videos,5000 photos and illustrations,all real.

And then I have about 1500 AI photos and illustrations.

Do you know how many sales I've made so far this month? 5 I repeat: 5 sales from May 1st!

if this happens to you what do you do?

you go to San Jose,California with a machine gun and start shooting everyone?  :D

If I were you,I'd be jumping for joy from morning till night!

Many of you are luckier than you realize!

I have been getting rejections on all the images I upload for the last 2-3 weeks. This has reached an unbearable level.

Video verification is now normal, fast and adequate. I have no complaints about Adobe.

The more I think about it,the more I realize that these new review were the best choice.

yes,it's a bit heavy, but have you tried to reflect on the fact that previously,a smart 15 year old kid could pocket an expert and seasoned contributor in the space of a year?

yes,a 15 year old guy who registered an account for a family member, started spamming and uploaded 20-30000 contents in a year, reaching out to those who have dedicated many years to doing this job.

Now the spam is over, people are encouraged to produce only the best of the best,Adobe's library improves,we improve our ports, and we attract more customers and we all benefit.

then, these new review have just begun, and if there are any imperfections,I'm sure they will be improved.

then yes, sometimes it is heavy, especially if you are a contributor who takes an hour or more to produce an image.

However,in my opinion,in the current context it was the best choice,at least as far as AI images are concerned.

then as far as the real images are concerned I have some doubts too,but I saw some images of someone complaining about the rejections, and in all honesty, and humility, sincerely, those images that I saw really lacked in originality and general edit in my opinion, and maybe I'm wrong,I'm not an expert, but I've been producing content for 7 years anyway.

In any case,I think the reviews are better now than they were before.

...

Other good points made in this lengthy post, I cut out for clarity.  But I really like the one above.   Respect (mutual) is big thing in any relationship.   This is why I like Alamy.  Just had 3 digit sale, more than I'll make in 2 months on Adobe.  Alamy treats contributors with respect.  Reviews are fast (2-3 days at most), and fair.  Not a freebie, but I never had "quality reason" nonsense rejection.

There will always be Adobe fans and cheerleaders, no matter what.  If this situation indeed continues, there will be a drain.  But maybe this is what they want.
