Title: Adobe Stock Livestream today with Mat Hayward and Terry White
Post by: MatHayward on October 19, 2023, 12:29
Hi Everyone,

I'll be broadcasting live in Behance Live (I come from the land of redundancy land) at 12pm PT with Adobe legend, Terry White. We'll go over the latest and greatest Adobe features recently announced including Firefly, new Lightroom tools, and more. The tools we will discuss have potential to make your lives easier, and/or expand your stock portfolio so you should check it out. I hope to see you there. We should have plenty of time for a live Q&A so if you have a burning question, this is a good opportunity to ask.

No, thanks. I read here every day how people are banned for upload content created by artificial intelligence. Without me.  ;D

Mat, will the contributors get a share of the credits used for the "fast lane" generative fill?

Credits are distributed through your Creative Cloud subscription. If you qualified for a bonus code for a complimentary Creative Cloud subscription, then yes is the answer to your question.

No, my questions was whether will we, the contributors, get a share of the revenue that is earned by users paying for "fast lane credits" to use generative fill (that was trained on our content)?

yes,but if you just want to generate and upload as if there were no tomorrow, without selecting, without processing, improving, taking care of the details, and above all referring to other artists in the prompt,of course they end up getting banned!

then in case you make a mistake due to distraction, from what I understand,Adobe warns you at least the first time and maybe even a second time,so you can run the "risk"

thanks Mat,I'll watch the replay soon,as always.

Mat, you may have mentioned this elsewhere, but I must have missed it.
If I use Generate in photoshop to remove an item from my photograph, do I have to check the AI box?
Thanks

I think this is Mat's most recent statement on Adobe Stock's rules for what counts as genAI

https://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/announcing-adobe-firefly-a-new-family-of-creative-generative-ai-models/msg592314/#msg592314 (https://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/announcing-adobe-firefly-a-new-family-of-creative-generative-ai-models/msg592314/#msg592314)

If you submit to any other agency that forbids AI uploads, you should be aware that using generative fill for anything will automatically tag the JPEG as having been modified with an AI tool - see the report CAI's Verify tool made on a test file of mine. It may get the image rejected everywhere else but Adobe Stock.

I used generative fill to remove a thumb from the sky area, saved and then made a JPEG. You don't get a choice about CAI tagging if a generative AI feature is used

I saw the replay, interesting, definitely learned new things, the new lens blur is amazing,as well as the new adaptive masks,up until now I have mostly used the default subject adaptive mask, like pop and vivid impact, they were very helpful for the type of content I was creating lately, and other presets in camera raw with Photoshop.
I'm thinking of starting to use Lightroom Classic again, which I abandoned a few years ago.
I'll bring in Lightroom all the work I'm preparing this days with Firefly, that I think to start send to Adobe Stock in November, also to have an overall better view of all the AI images,I think it's time to dust off Lightroom, can suit very well with this kind of work.

thanks Mat and Mr Terry White!

Generally, no. You would not need to identify a photograph that you used Firefly to remove an item from. Please review the full policy here for clarity: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/generative-ai-content.html

Thanks for the question,

I suspect it just saves meta data in the file (especially if it is a PNG file). Curious - if you save it as a bitmap, then resave as jpg/png - does the tool still detect "ai" content?

Mat - do you have a transcript of the video? If not - could you please have one put together? I'd be interested in quickly reading to see what points are of interest. Thanks.

yes Mat,possibly also translated into Latin and ancient Greek, but you have to write it while wearing the "metadata" t-shirt and hopping on one leg, otherwise it is not acceptable! :D

Mat - is Adobe going to do anything about the useless rejections reasons when AI might be wrongly marked?  with the current system there's no way to tell if an image has been rejected when it was falsely identified as AI-gen since it allows it may have been rejected for other reasons. so there's no way to know whether we should appeal/resubmit or not

here's what we get:

Possible reasons:

- Non compliant use of another artist’s name.

- Undeclared Generative AI Content.

- Content not compliant with overall guidelines:

I saw them live during the "And justice for all tour." Had quite a story come out of that one actually. Probably best left out of the internet :)
