I tried uploading another footage file and am happy to see it is reading all metadata including the title now.

You beat me to it. The engineering team has already fixed the issue. Thanks for your patience with that!

Ugh! why do you guys have to "fix" things if it ain't broke?

I really cannot agree with you. Using FTP means that something is broken very badly. This is something which really needs to be fixed.

For me and my girlfriend the SFTP is also not working. Not able to login at all.

Upon connecting on Filezilla I got the sftp unknown host error.

"The server's host key is unknown. You have no guarantee that the server is the computer you think it is."

"The server's host key is unknown. You have no guarantee that the server is the computer you think it is."

That should be fine for a first connect if you get "accept and save".

Im glad they've finally moved away from FTP.  Sending unencrypted login details of username and password has been a massive security risk for years.

Both AS and SS have now gone secure and thats a good thing.

I think I followed all the directions, but my FTP app (Fetch) isn't able to connect. The error message is:

SFTP connection to "sftp.contributor.adobestock.com" could not be opened because a requested file or folder was not found on the SFTP server

If you entered a file name, folder name, or URL, you may want to check its spelling and capitalization.
Server responded: 4221_1620348766180

I'm not entering any URL or folder name though, so I don't know how I can correct this.

I'm just trying this today for the first time, because I was away on a photo shoot in Colorado and Utah when Mat posted this announcement. Have a lot of fine new images that I'd like to get into my adobe port, but

Like Jo Ann, I use Fetch. (Always have and would like to keep using it!)

My browser is Firefox.

When I type in the host URL all seems well up to this point:

sftp:/contributor.adobestock.com

But the minute I add that extra /sftp. shown on the instruction page, the thing reverts just to contributor.adobestock.com and consistently gives me this error message:

SFTP connection to contributor.adobestock.com could not be opened because the connection to the SFTP server could not be established or was lost.

Try again, or contact the server administrator to verify that you have the correct hostname, username, password, and authentication method, and that the server is running.
Server responded: ssh: Could not resolve hostname contributor.adobestock.com: nodename nor servname provided, or not known

I'm stuck. Can't figure out any workaround for this.

Jo Ann, did you ever get Fetch to work?

Mat, after Memorial Day, could you offer me some advice?

Thanks in advance to both Jo Ann and Mat for your always-great assistance!

Steve, did you have some of these same issues and finally get past them? If so, was there some magic button that worked for you? Some secret handshake?

If so, I'd appreciate knowing what you did. Thanks!

I submitted a support ticket about this on May 7 and received a reply from Zak saying "please wait a day or two and try again." - they'd had a lot of similar sounding problems already reported.

I tried several more times and on May 14 updated the ticket saying I had essentially the same problems as before.

I included a screen capture of my Fetch shortcut showing how it was set up and noted that whether the "Kind:" drop down was set to File, Folder or Unknown I saw the same error. I also included the Fetch "transcript" so they'd know exactly how the session went. You might want to include that if you submit a ticket.

Zak replied that he'd escalate to his team to see what was going on.

Haven't heard anything since.

I could upload using the web site (I have haven't tried lately but I assume that works), but I held off so I could try again after a fix with the same files that failed beforehand.

I will update here when I get a resolution.

Thanks much, Jo Ann. As always, your info is extremely useful.

Today's Memorial Day, so I'll wait until tomorrow and contact Adobe support then. Hope somebody there can resolve this for both of us.

Yesterday, I uploaded my entire batch of new images to Dreamstime without a hitch. I processed them quickly and easily through their intuitive online system (which I love, BTW), and within an hour they were all accepted. This morning, they're all "live" on the site.

Meanwhile, I'll spend today uploading my videos (exclusively) to Pond5, which I also started yesterday. Their process is working normally, too.

Not sure why getting images up on Adobe has to be such a PITA. It's not just this new uploading glitch but also their usual "ranked keywords" system, which requires sooooo much more time and trouble than any other stock site.

How about Adobe provides a list of supported FTP clients, at least for Mac & Windows, although possibly there may be some Linux users out there?

Rather than have contributors guess, have a list of software and when changes are made the Adobe end, test against those to make sure they work.

Meantime I can upload via the web

Thank you for that tip, Blue. I'm grateful, because this afternoon I've been spinning my wheels trying to get Filezilla to work.

I'll give Cyberduck a chance now and report back later.

REPORT: CYBERDUCK WORKS!!!  Right off the bat.

It's clunkier on my Mac than Fetch, which is super-smooth and sweet, but hey, IT WORKS!!! My images are already showing up on the AS site.

Thanks, Blue. I appreciate the tip and have even paid the requested $10 donation. Happily. :D

Could you please explain if and how can you transfer a file from Google Drive to FTP? (not locally).
I downloaded the applications and mounted my paid Google drive and FTP or SFTP acounts at my PC.
All I see is that it uses my local drive space and internet speed to copy.
Why do I need that, if I can do it with FileZilla?
I do not need to upload one by one.
Instead, I wish to upload to my Cloud Drive once and then send to all agencies.
I was able to do that with MultCloud but SFTP is now creating so many problems!
I have 20.5 GB of ProRes videos to upload (13 videos - I know, unlucky!), just from my latest edit.
If I wait to do that everytime to a single agency, it will take ages!
Any help will be much appreciated!
Again, I was so happy with MultCloud but that was when I was using FTP and now things are not working with SFTP!

Steve, did you have some of these same issues and finally get past them? If so, was there some magic button that worked for you? Some secret handshake?

If so, I'd appreciate knowing what you did. Thanks!

i'm not using ftp/ftp at all - just the drag/drop on the site itself - slower than ftp but i can be working elsewhere

Steve, is that a secure transfer with SFTP?

I've never tried on-the-page uploads, but maybe it's easier than anything else. Thanks for the info.

It must be SFTP compliant if AS is offering it on their upload page, so that's a very good thing.

I've already got most of my new pics up on AS, but will try this alternative method the next time around.

Thanks, Steve.

I do the same, as I'm not uploading big batches. It's not ftp at all and sometimes Adobe asks me for a verification by sending a code to my personal phone, which I have to enter before I can access my account. Real short, software uploads are not the same as ftp or sftp. Drag and drop, the system reads all the IPTC data.

For still images I strongly recommend using the drag and drop method. I only use SFTP for video uploads. We appreciate all the feedback here. Thank you!

Oh, I didn't understand that from before. Always have used FTP via Fetch, for both stills and videos.

But I'm not uploading videos to Adobe now, so I guess I don't need the SFTP at all.

Thanks, Mat, for the good info.
