Hi!

Adobe Stock is my best agency this year for now. But I noticed that my new images not selling. Only old "popular" images. No luck with "new" sales. You have better luck?

Cheers

That's pretty much my experience lately too. Have sold a couple of new images this year, but the older "established" shots are more reliable.

Same here, the "old" images are still selling but only some of the ones uploaded in 2016 has been bought.

You need to read the SS thread. Only old sell there, not new? Seems to be, whatever anybody wants it to be. Old only sells, new only sells, 25c people only sell, old people have advantage. Whatever you see is true.

Microstock yo-yo I'm hoping it's on the upstart now after December. New today sells, old yesterday, no pattern for me except what buyers take. Seems very random.

lol, y3 is that a multiple choice.. a)Old only sells, b)new only sells, c) 25c people only sell, d)old people have advantage.
correct answer is e) all of the above.
seriously, yes, old will sell if it sold first day on going live.. and will continue to sell while you sit by the pool at the hotel (or plastic baby swimming pool in your backyd) drinking pina colada (or cold coffee).
new will never sell ever if it did not sell after approved.
if ever.. the diff will be like old image total $1000 and still going . new image 4 sales in a lifetime $10
with super 2.70 SOD ;)

I have to disagree with all of the above, just because that's what we do.  ;)

I'm not sure of the if it doesn't sell first day thing. I have some that suddenly caught sales and continued for no explained reason, after over a year. But most of the time, if something new doesn't get sales in the first month, it will start dropping down the popular, best match and new ranking and soon be buried behind long time earners and newer new.

I've also had old files that sold over and over, suddenly go dead. Maybe something better came along since seven years ago?

For all the theories of the search, we all know that it is always changing, there's no predicting and my theory is, it's to present a varied front page to buyers, so the site doesn't just look like the same images, always in front, month after month. Nothing to do with a,b,c,d above and more to do with keeping things fresh.

If it's random or programmed to always change in an unpredictable way, many different ways, we'll all end up like BF Skinners pigeons.

My Weekly position rank from Dec 2016 fall down from 400 to 1100 and still falling.
Mostly sell my old "popular" images, but slow.

Can anybody explain FT rank.If you fell 700 then did others went up 700? I don't know where's my rank on AS site. Is it just how many sales or compared to others money or how? 400 or 1100 sounds very good. Does it go back up to 400 next month?

You can check rank on Fotolia page. And yes, 700 others contributors went up in few last weeks. 1/2 of the year my weekly rank is around 300-400. Now is 1180. :/

Seems like good thing that old images sell, after time all images you submited now will be old, I prefer to win constantly than only when the photos are new.

I have a few hundred images on Adobe ( starting to upload more and more) I just received a Fotolia message that I have sold two images there and I have to give my tax info. I don't submit to Fotolia but to Adobe! If I follow the link I get to a Fotolia page where I can't get in because I don't have an account at Fotolia. Someone knows what's happening here and what to do?
Thanks!

How important is you Acceptation rate?
Mine is low (53%), a year ago i have uploaded many images again, to uncheck the free section flag ( a mistake).
My images are not/hard findable.
Now Fotolia is a low seller 1 or 2 per month.

How can i get more downloads?

My rate is 75% but sales are very slow also and going down. In January 2016, I sell much more with about 40% smaller portfolio. How is this possible? Now I have about 3.5k images. My train is not going well at Adobe, although regularly upload high-quality coal! Other agencies are better now. Weird.

You can not change anything, you can just wait for better times. Not motivated at all. Currently I do not see the effect, if I upload more. I just hope it will be better soon.

That's the way I see it also. After awhile, better images seem to keep getting downloads, that's old. Used to be, anything new sold, but most of those are now dead and haven't sold for years. What I mean is old that keep selling, seem to keep selling. New sales are no indication that they will catch on or keep selling.

The same images seem to sell over and over at the same places. A small number sell at all agencies. Every agency has some of mine that might never sell elsewhere and sell on that agency, more than once a month?

I'd rather have established images that keep selling year after year.

Earnings are not directly related to how many images. When I made money from 500 images, I thought I could add 2,500 more and make six times as much. Not true. I might have doubled income. Add another 1,000 and I get 10% more sale.

I hate to say it, but big or many is not as important as what are they. And the point of diminishing returns seems to hit every one of us, on every agency. Not always the same point, but eventually it gets us all.

Juice Stock Photos, Illustrations, and Vector Art (1,050,580)
Fruit Juice Stock Photos, Illustrations, and Vector Art (791,896)
Orange Juice Stock Photos, Illustrations, and Vector Art (358,914)
Apple Juice Stock Photos, Illustrations, and Vector Art (122,748)

How many juice photos can they have? I won't make any more because it's well covered. This is the same as our own work. When we have less, we make a better return. When we have more, we make less per image.

At some point we increase less for hundreds of new images or maybe less per 1000.

I try to shoot things like this more.

NameRemoved Stock Photos, Illustrations, and Vector Art (1,552)
Title Stock Photos, Illustrations, and Vector Art (93)

I have four in the top ten of the second title and they sell every week. First one is totally spammed up with unrelated images and I'm on page two and four. I still get sales because the spammed keywords don't get downloads when it's not what buyers wanted in the first place.

I have the same feelings of Not motivated at all. lately, I know I need to add more and I'll get more sales from some of them.
Acceptation rate    67% some accepted after changes, that's the number FT shows.

this agency risk most of all that saturation of poor content will move a lot of customer to other agency...
in my opinion a real rf low cost agency with only the best quality and strong rejection policy, like restock , will rise soon to compete....i'm not a buyerr but if i were i would be scared to browse through any of the rf agency....

I've been seeing a mix of old and new sales with Fotolia.  SS is not doing as good as I hoped after the holidays but Fotolia is pretty much caught back up.

Not sure if I can fully agree. FT has rejected works that SS and IS have accepted. I also seem to see they have a different direction for content. FT has accepted some that IS and SS have rejected. This is all in the last year, since the addition of AdobeStock site and new owners.

I did have a question. If I upload an old better selling image, which has been other places since 2010 and now it's new, just months, on AS and selling. Is it an old image selling or a new image selling? It's new to FT and selling, it's seven years old everywhere else and selling.

New images take time to establish on FT if it's in a popular category. Just be patient and wait. If your work has commercial value, it will be found and once it gets downloaded, it'll start climbing the search results.
