If I understand the submission requirements for generative AI submissions:

 1. If I have a model released image and I use the GenAI tools in photoshop to extend the background, I should not mark the image as Generative AI?

 2. If I have say a model released image with a model on a white background (or in any environment for that matter) and I use GenAI tools in Photoshop to totally create/replace an environment (e.g.: room, outdoors) around the model.
I would submit the image with a model release but I should or should not mark it as GenAI?

Thanks

It's very difficult to speculate and answer a question like this without image examples. Based on what you described, I would generally tend to agree with what you wrote. For more definitive answers, I would encourage you to refer to the Learn and Support page for generative AI guidelines. Here is what it says about this topic:

Label your image as generative AI when the use of generative AI tools in Photoshop or Illustrator changed, augmented, or added a new primary subject of an image.

Examples when to label your image as generative AI:

-Generating new additions, such as a new person, animal, or object
-Adding new subjects might compromise the accuracy of an image
-Making significant adjustments or changes to a human subject in an image
-Recoloring the primary subject of an image

Examples when you wouldnt be obligated to label an image as generative AI:

-Extending background for any reason
-Removing IP or other forms of retouching
-Removing distracting objects or people
-Recoloring the background of an image

Mat,

Actually I read the section you were referring to and that is what prompted my question. I just wanted to make sure that I understood it correctly and it still applies.
Sounds like I did understand and it still applies.

Thanks!

Mat, Now that Gen AI is allowed for video submissions, would the same guidelines apply for videos in terms of when to tag as Gen. AI?

Good question. For "AI" video - I didn't actually see any way to select an "ai" video for a submission, would one just add 'gen ai' to it? (I haven't actually made any 'gen ai' video - but I've noticed some people have 'ai video' submitted, and was curious how one would submit that). Thanks!

Hi Synthetick. Please refer to the generative AI guidelines for specific details on what is and is not allowed.

@Superphoto, there is now a checkbox for videos and vectors made with generative AI software. Please see this thread for the update: https://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/adobe-stock-requirement-for-generative-ai-video-clips-and-vectors/msg595935/?topicseen#new

Thanks,

I think Mat means "there is now a checkbox" not "there is not a checkbox".

I'm sure you are right and that is most definitely what he meant ;) Fixed it.

Just send however you like it and whatever you like.
Adobe accepting anything now.

They even have policy to accept gen Ai as a photo if contributor think that is photo and upload his/hers "work" as a photography   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yes, absolute contempt, and absolute business, with a big smile...

Edit: Btw, nobody has got any right on these images, right? not the human prompter, nor Adobe Stock... Anybody can take/buy and resell
