Hi all!
This is my first post on the community, I have been reading and learning a lot from you though :)

Ok, my question is regarding Adobestock contributor LATAM. Recently they decided to make a shift in their strategy and they are now selling their exclusive briefs and private lessons through a third party company (a small company their friends have created to sell 'make a living from photography' courses with monthly subscription).

I have nothing against this third company, it is quite normal that photographers want to sell their courses, but selling Adobestock contributor content is completely different. Somehow we all are part of the statistics that leads to content in need and as a contributor this system sounds unfair to me.

I haven't found anything similar in the English speaking community, so I wanted to ask if this it is also happening in all Adobestock Contributor regions.

As far as I know, stock companies usually give exclusive briefs in case the photographer obtains good results or if they become exclusive, and they provide free workshops. This is the first time that we are being charged for this information, right?

I am still in shock  :(

Adobe Stock does not ever sell content briefs. They are free to contributors. Same with private lessons, we do not sell them. I provide free monthly webinars for contributors. You can check out the archived webinars and subscribe to upcoming webinars here: https://www.crowdcast.io/adobestock.

@LauraRod, If you haven't received any emails with content briefs, or invitations to Adobe Stock contributor webinars, please check to make sure you are opted in to marketing emails through Adobe.com. You may also want to consider joining the Discord community for access to calls for content and content briefs and updates on upcoming events. We also host educational audio sessions from time to time directly in Discord. Here is a link to an invitation to join: https://discord.gg/adobestock

Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns,

Hi Mat,
Thanks for your fast reply. I am afraid this info is not available in English, but there are several youtube videos where Spanish/LATAM Adobe's representative talks with this company about exclusive briefs and webinars only available after paying this suscription.

Just to show an example, in this exact minute I link they say: "Con Adobe insisto, tenemos una informacin que es brutal y adems mucha de ella a mi se me hincha el pecho decirlo, es exclusiva de (The paid subscription company)"
which will be translated as: "Let me insist, with Adobe we have a huge amount of information and I am very proud to say that it is exclusive to (The paid subscription company)"

https://youtu.be/29dkruEP75E?t=444

And two minutes after they say: "a lot of info that normal people don't have and thanks to exclusive briefs that Adobe is giving us and now we have inside our (paid) course..."

I appreciate your answer though, made me see that this is not expected to happen in Adobe and that we are doing right when we complain.

Lost in the translation, does this video place claim to actually BE Adobe, or that they have information exclusive to Adobe. Or they are making a claim to be getting some insider information... so subscribe and give us money.  >:(

I trust what Mat has said, the Adobe materials are free.

I think this place is trying to sell you on their program and is NOT ADOBE.

"All of us who are dedicated to stock photography should keep in mind each of the words that come out of Mariana Cabral. In this video, in addition to seeing the INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF INFORMATION that we have in the stock academy of stockmakers, you can learn some great tips to improve the processes."

So my question would be, what's the complaint to Adobe if they aren't even part of this Stockeros?

Hi Uncle Pete,
The complain to Adobe is that they are giving the exclusive workshops and briefs to this company so they can sell it in their course.

It means that Adobe's briefs and workshops are being sold (through a 3rd party company authorised by them).

Mat was very kind and told me that he will check it. Let's see what they reply

Right and my question was, are they really "giving the exclusive workshops and briefs to this company so they can sell it in their course". If your thoughts are correct, yes, I'd be upset too.

Welcome to the forum!

Since I can't read all of their site and understand what's claims or facts, I just see them as making false promises and claims that are directed at getting people to pay for their course. I might be wrong.

I guess we both can wait for Mat?  :)

Start in the forum with this announcement is not the best start I can imagine. I Hope to contribute with helpful tips as well  :)

Thanks for the welcome

Wow... things are getting worse. Adobe has given a keyword to people who paid this course (stockeros1, https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=stockeros1), so those contributors can add this keyword to their pictures and this way Adobe can find them easily and promote them more frequently to increase their sales.

How do you know:
1 Adobe gave them that keyword?
2. The keyword is to let Adobe promote them above others?
Isn't it possible (I don't know, I don't submit there) for anyone to make up a keyword and add it to their images?
If so a group of people could use a specific made up keyword so that they can use it for external marketing or for any other purpose.

Still, Mat is usually faster at getting back with answers, so the ball's still in his court.

It's almost two weeks since all this Adobe's debate started in the Spanish speaking community, some of the content from this collaboration has been shared in Facebook stock groups and it is now possible to see it for real even if they decided to shoot down the video linked here (the one that brought to this discussion). I am afraid I cannot share those videos here because I don't want to get in trouble.

I can just share that the keyword was given to them specifically.  :-\

But the special keyword is not shown in the published keywords on each photo of this group, right?
Because I just tried to find out which keyword they used, but no same keyword on that promoted photos.

Why I remember Getty and iStock in this case? Deleting accounts if you have the same photos on both sites.
Why I am remembering SS, who prefer to delete the accounts of the copyright holder instead of deleting the accounts of thieves?
And so on!

In which world do we live?
Well, business is indeed the worst side of communication. Do not trust anyone, but deal with the devil, if you can get a benefit from it. There are no friends in business life.

So, publishing the video here: Only Adobe could make you problems, right? We are afraid to publish truth and the big Adobe (who seems to be the bad boy) and all the others will fight directly with unfair tricks?

MAD WORLD!
BAD WORLD!

I mentioned before that Adobe goes the way of different classes:
first class, second class and regions.

Yes, seems to be one new focus from them.

You are right. Somehow we saw Adobe as the good one after Shutterstock reduced comissions, and that was a mistake. Business is business :'(

About keywords: Yep, it's supposed to be an exclusive hidden keyword

Hi LauraRod,

As I mentioned in the previous post, Adobe Stock does not ever sell workshops or briefs neither directly nor through third parties. All of the education we offer is free, including in Latin America and Europe where my colleagues also conduct webinars in Spanish.

Occasionally we have the opportunity to participate in webinars hosted by local communities. Sometimes these communities are closed and sometimes they are open. In either case, the information is not any different than what we share in our own self-hosted webinars (see the link I shared in my previous post) The objective is always to reach a wider audience. Another example would be the various trade shows that I speak at around the world. In most cases, attendees pay the show hosts an entry fee for access. We aren't charging for this. We see it as simply another way we are able to get our message out to both existing and new contributors.

Remember that there is no secret formula to being successful in Stock. The only thing anyone can share are good practices, which is information we strive to make available to as many contributors as possible.

Regarding keywording, as you know, contributors choose the keywords they wish to use when they upload their content. There is no secret keyword to generate more sales. We do not artificially boost anyones content because of a special keyword. That said, there are many unique keywords used both internally and externally for tracking purposes. All it does is bring up the associated content when the specific unique keyword is searched and anyone can do this as it doesnt require any special set up. All it requires is choosing a unique word when indexing content. If the keyword isnt relevant to the asset, it wont serve any practical purpose in terms of sales.

I'm on vacation at the Washington coast with my family this week so it's unlikely you will hear back from me before this Monday. As always, I'm happy to answer questions. Your patience is appreciated.

Mat Hayward

Hi Mat,

Removing the video and pretend that 'nothing has happened' and 'nothing was said there' is not kind from Adobe.

Thanks for the links, but I have not been able to find in the links provided on your first message the info inside the paid course, like, for example, a masterclass on artistic direction (attached) or the exclusive briefs mentioned in the video by Mariana:

"This call for content is sent to all our collaborators, so please subscribe if you are not recieving it. [...] And this call for content is exclusive to some collaborators (usually the top ones), but what I will do is give it to you (you = to all who paid the subscription) because I am interested in your growth."

WOW, thanks Mariana for being interested only in the growth of those who pay this academy. Shouldn't all contributors deserve the same respect and opportunities?

Anyways, makes no sense to continue with this discussion if we are going in circles and Adobe's position is negating the facts. I know you did all you could.

Enjoy your holidays.

Maybe Stockeros guys are lying saying they have privileged information from Adobe. The only purpose it's selling their courses. Some people use this kind of strategies. :(

Reckless ???She must be either plain stupid or she tells the truth. Probably we will never find out but everything is possible.

Hey guys,

I've already mentioned this but it seems worth mentioning again as this thread appears to be devolving. Myself, and other members of the Adobe Stock team including Mariana (who by the way, is an awesome and highly trusted ally to Adobe Stock contributors) are constantly reaching out to, and working with differernt communities around the world to help support Adobe Stock contributors. Sometimes our communication takes place in private forums, tradeshows or webinars,  sometimes it's one on one conversation or often it is in webinars we host directly and others it's in our fantastic Discord community. There are no secrets here. No exclusive or proprietary information we are only willing to share with one specific community. We are working hard to help all Adobe Stock contributors grow their portfolios in a meaningful way with high quality, sellable stock content that meets the current and future needs of Adobe Stock customers. In other words, we want to help you make money. @LauraRod, if you represent or are part of a contributor community that you feel would benefit from someone on our team collaborating with, we are completely open to more initiatives. We are easy to reach through the contributor portal, or feel free to email me directly via
[email protected].

If it is Spanish educational content you are seeking specifically, there are many opportunities for you to to learn.

Thanks Mat,

Yep, I have checked Facebook and Instagram (and all temporary stories redirected to Stockeros, so not many opportunities to learn there). I also checked Spanish Crowdcast and webinars are all introductory, which might be great for some, but they seem more oriented towards people starting rather than actual contributors.
The idea of having to create an association if I don't want to pay for the briefs is disappointing.

Taht said, I will remove the video as I don't want problems. At this stage is just a matter of choosing.
