Hello,
Do you think Adobe will change their editorial policy and start image exclusive program? After shutterstock's fiasco I have been waiting for such a move from Adobe but they have been silent.
What do you think? Would you go exclusive with Adobe?

Istock's exclusive contributors make good money

It would have to be clear that you would make more money by going exclusive from the "get go".

Going exclusive at microstock prices would be incredibly risky in the current market. I used to think if Shutterstock went exclusive I would consider it...look how that could have turned out.

I agree. It was barely a good idea for some people even 5 years ago. Let alone today. Image exclusivity would be good, and I don’t know why all agencies don’t offer that. Must be some financial reason why they don’t.

I would imagine it would be very difficult to police and determine how similar an image is for it to be sufficently similar to make it "the same".

Let's think about it. Why would leading agencies pay you more by offering exclusivity? It's you who lose opportunity to sell there if you don't supply your images to them. Exclusivity is a way for non-leading agencies to compete.
As for editorial policy, I think Adobe is familiar with graphic art, not journalism.

Any sort of total exclusivity with any stock agency is a long term fail for a contributor. Especially if you depend on your stock earnings. Marketing BS apart, the company owners/shareholders will always pursue the opposite aim to your wealth :)
