So what do you think of Fotolia since the revamp? Is it still a complete disaster? I think it's a bit better. However, I still think the site is fairly buggy.

My most recent issue is due to changing my email. For some reason, my email was validated but the process was not completed. Instead, I received an email stating that there were problems with my account and that my account would be closed if they were not fixed. The only problem I found was that it stated I was an image buyer, so I changed that. But then I checked it again this morning, and it still says that I'm an image buyer. Oh well. It's not like I earn much with Fotolia.

They have managed to at least encrypt the page where you enter your Social Security number, but I still think it's way too easy for hackers to find this number. If your account is ever hijacked then all the hacker has to do is click on modify your account, and they have your personal information(including your SS). And I do not believe that they require your Social Security number until you hit $600. That's when the IRS wants documentation of your earnings. Maybe I'm wrong.

Okay, I've written enough. What does everyone else think?

Well sometimes they seems so ... clumsy.. My earning goes down and down every month. I know that adding images will help, but I have more then 30 referrals and they have the same experience.

Few days ago they announced Myfotolia Space ( http://www.mangiaphoto.com/myfotolia-space/2007/12/23/ ) and it seems ok for all who wants to promote his/her portfolio. And guess what, bugs, bugs and bugs..

Just slightly off tangent here, but is anybody getting all their pre revamp files showing up in the search results yet.

I've got loads that still don't show up despite having re edited the keywords.

When V2 was launched I had terrific results in FT, then things started to slow down.  In December it has dropped to 5th place in my ranking.

Last time I checked, still a lot of searches missing and sales are not brilliant in the last few months.

When I registered first from within Belgium, I always got thrown back at their French page. Now we know France. They think they are God's Gift to Europe and everybody should speak French, especially Belgium, but I don't understand French technical lingo well. And Belgium is 2/3 Flemish and it speaks Dutch. It didn't work. I cleaned cookies... I was always thrown back at the French .fr site. So I abandoned my account.

When I passed by some Arab country (that isn't blessed enough to speak French); I made a new account, and yoohoo, I got on the .com, even when back in Belgium.

Then I lost my password once and I couldn't get on. I requested the 'lost password - send email' but the email never arrived. Support never replied. So I left the site for half a year. Then, I posed as a new customer with a 'sales inquiry' to get their attention. I got a reply that my password was changed to... guess.... 'fotolia'. I guess hackers would never find a difficult password like that  ;D.

All goes well now. I started uploading again and all goes well. IMy account gets $$$ but I'm basically scared about their security.

Although my account was opened in US Fotolia, when I type www.fotolia.com (which is in my bookmarks), I am now sent to the Brazilian FT (br.fotolia.com). I guess it's an IP thing.  To check sales it's ok.  I guess I could even upload there, as we can choose the language in the edition page, but I never tried.

I uploaed a largish batch of pics from a shoot in November and keyworded about 2/3 right away.  Then I got lazy and waited a few days to finish the rest up.  On the first batch I at least get some views, mind you, not many and even fewer sales, on the second: nada, nothing, zip, 0 views on some of them.  Same shoot, same model, same basic light set-up, very similar keywords (not that many ways of accurately describing a "young attractive woman") -  how does that make sense?  ???
I am pretty disenchanted with them by now, very low sales - and it used to be one of my better sites.  No more.

Well,

Mixed result what i'm reading here.

For me, fotolia is now fighting with SS for best selling site.... strange because after the revamp i had hardly any sales, hardly any views and somewhere along the road this changed over night.

Two months in a row both sold extremely well, by just a slight difference of 2 dollar... fotolia second place, this month seems to be giving same results.

always find it funny how different sites work for different people, fotolia has been on a steady decline for me, ended up 7th for december, with less than half of 123rf's earnings (which was 4th).

I am on FT 3 months. I wanted to stop uploading to them because of almost no sales and low
prices.  But this month there are  at least a 1-3 sales every day.

I have always done well on Fotolia even during the V1 - V2 changeover but they seem to be taking longer than the rest to get back on their feet after the holiday slowdown. :(

Fotolia is my curent top earner, so, obviously, I like it a lot.  But, can anyone think of a way to motivate Fotolia to stop showing SS# on ANY kind of web page, including secure pages?

Background: Early in December I wanted to request my first payout at Fotolia, but noticed their page that showed Soc. Sec. number wasn't secure. I called Cust. Support, and person was very understanding, mentioned the personal info page used to be secure, and he'd forward concerns to management.

Okay, so days later, the page went secure, I gave my info, so I could get payment, but now I'm wondering - will the page continue to go in and out of being secure?

Yeah, it is buggy, but Fotolia is still #1 earner for me.
