When I go to the DPC homepage now, I see this message:
DollarPhotoClub is now closed for new members.
Join Adobe Stock, the new creative marketplace from Adobe!
Surely this has to be step #1 in shutting DPC down completely. And I'm not really surprised. I never understood how DPC fit in with the new Adobe Stock offering.

So far the news from Adobe has been all positive I think? I'm sure some people will still find something bad to say ;D
-
Fantastic news.
-
Mat said they wil not marketing DPC anymore, so there is no use of accepting new members.
-
Hooray!!!! 8)
Adobe's entry into stock may or may not be the best thing since sliced bread. However, by forcing FT to get rid of DPC, which many of us tried to do a while back, it's looking pretty darn good.
Back then, I pulled my entire portfolio from FT in protest of DPC. But now that Adobe is in charge, I've reestablished my account and am uploading again. Not only are they accepting almost everything I send them, but my first images up on the new Adobe Stock site are selling better than they ever did on the old FT.
Somehow, the world seems a better place.

Close DPC ASAP. It was a bad idea to start with. Bad for us. Bad for their profits too.
-
Good news at last, just need the 90% drop in sales since Adobe to reverse.
-
Well done adobe :-*
Whats next a win win for agencie and contributor by killing subscriptions?
-
This is a very positive development! So far Adobe is doing everything right.
I would like to see increased saled numbers tho. So far I lost SS sales and IS sales but no corresponding jump at FT.
-
Nice! I hope a shutdown of DPC will follow soon.
-
Yeaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!

same here. Shutterstock numbers seem to be dropping a bit this month but the opposite change hasn't been happing on Fotolia. Perhaps there was just a Shutterstock search mix-up that affected me negatively.
-
I'm hoping to get my entire microstock portfolio up on Fotolia. The Adobe takeover seems positive and getting rid of DPC certainly seems like another step in the right direction.
-
Very positive! But still I can't see any Adobe-effect on my sales at FT actually it continues to be a downtrend for me since March 2014!
-
Fotolia made it harder and harder for me to increase earnings with their site and then my downloads fell off a cliff. That was so demotivating that I stopped uploading. Nothing has changed since Adobe took over, I still see no incentive to upload new images when my earnings are so low. Doesn't really matter who owns the site when I can't make much money there, I hope they do something to improve the situation, it can't really get any worse than it is now.

The next step should be to let European contributors get paid in euros rather than forcing you to stay in dollars just because you clicked the wrong link years ago. Grrrrr

The next step should be to get rid of the destructive cobweb management who is making these piss poor decisions.

I would like Adobe to offer a contributor opt out for Fotolia's long secretive list of third party partner sites.

Thats the thing, i upload many new images but i was nailed at a fixed income. This year with a decrease of 25%. I cannot make images for that money. I will not upload images, too. I have heard from another contributor, his income was a little bit better, a year after he donīt upload more images...

I would prefer if they finally start paying everyone a fair royalty percentage of a sale regardless of currency. I have no desire to sponsor Adobe and European contributors.

Yes, that drives me crazy. Somehow I got signed up to be paid in British pounds, even though I am in the US and signed up on the US site - no idea how that happened. I've asked them several times if it can be changed to dollars and they say it is impossible, even though it should be a very simple programming switch. So now I have more and more British pounds stacking up in my PayPal account every year. At some point I'll have to buy something from Britain or pay the PayPal conversion fee. Very annoying and I don't understand why they can't fix a simple thing like that.
At least closing DPC is a positive step - I wish they would solve the currency issue next.
-
You can't use Paypal as a bank account SG, they are famous for freezing funds.
-
I've been lucky so far but I probably shouldn't leave as much in there as I do - I'll be really annoyed if I lose it because of not transferring it out fast enough. I should probably bite the bullet and pay the conversion fee. Thanks for the reminder.

It doesn't it competes with Adobe Stock CC subs. Closing DPC will make more money for Adobe and we're just happy to have it gone. Bad idea from the start RIP.

This. So much this. Just because I signed up for a $ account shouldn't make it impossible to change, especially since they have all my European info on file for tax purposes anyway.
