In a new partnership deal with Reuters, Adobe Stock will now be offering editorial images and video. What's not clear from the announcement is whether this editorial will also be mirrored on Fotolia and, more importantly, if this will pave the way for us to also be submitting editorial in the future. Ive been waiting for that for a long time and it will certainly be dissapointing if editorial is only limited to the Reuters content.

i always wondered why only ss and dst accepts editorials.
i wonder, too.. can you pls explain what you mean by just limited to the Reuters content???
do you mean that we are still not yet able to upload editorial to fotolia
and./or adobe for general distribution???
at this moment, most web editorials seem to still be dominated by Getty,
but i am surprised no one sees any opportunity to expand beyond wire images
and get contributors of micro to upload editorials.

Yes, exactly that - they don't currently allow upload of editorial images.

Editorial for photos and videos would be great to have on Fotolia. I think this will give video sales a real overall boost.

I didn't see any announcement on the site nor via email, nor any way to mark new images as editorial yet, so I sent a message to Adobe via the Contact Us link on the contributor portion of the site and will report back when I hear from them. I'd love to upload my editorial work there. It would be a great outlet.

It's not open to contributors yet, here's the answer I got:
This initial collection is being created with a select group of artists and agencies. Over time, we’ll expand this to include a broader community of contributors. We’ll be sure to keep you informed.

Fonts, templates, visual search, editorial photo and video. Anybody else see this giant is moving up the mountain to challenge SS? The way things are going, Leaf can change the forum to the Big Two sometime next year.
If we just get a trade, lose buyers from one site, move them to another. No gain. If we get buyers from places paying low like middle teir and below, we make more, this would be some welcome news for a change.

Adobe is the one to keep our eyes on! They dwarf Getty in being able to reach the market!

I hope you are right, but personally, I am still seeing about a 3.5:1 ratio between SS earnings and Adobe/FT earnings...of course if Adobe sold editorial that gap would shrink significantly.

The way they are moving to get this going is good! I feel positive about them from the way they have treated me with getting my clips up on their site!
-
I feel very positive about Adobe/Fotolia and video as well. My videos are inspected in under one hour sometimes, perfect service!

Adobe is a company that has always been aimed at photographers and designers, and it think it shows in their attitude. I'm impressed by the changes since they took over fotolia. They respond quickly, the portfolios look great on the Adobe facing site, and they are moving toward premium as well as editorial. All positive moves. My RPI is still higher on SS (and on DT), but I feel that Adobe/fotolia is a good #3 in my microstock portfolio. If I get in when they open up their premium and editorial offering to others, then I could see it becoming a major venue for my images.

Adobe/Fotolia seems to be a stock site with the best potential nowdays. I had some very fast sales there, I mean time between the upload and the first sale. They are simply doing simple things the way they have to be. I wish them luck and strictly not accepting any fired Shutterstock IT staff or any former Istock managers :)

Yep to me they are now like what I used to say about SS ...they are the best simply by just being comptetent

Cant wait to see that happen - a exciting new sales channel. If they manage to implement it well nobody needs to worry about istock anymore

so agree with you irina and pauws... as the keywords being red.
also that matt is himself a photographer, if i am not mistaken; and his consistently coming in here
whenever there is a concern to be fixed.
it perpetuates the goodwill with contributors and agency...
something we have not seen from istock and now following istock footsept , ss ...in a long time.
yep, to echo pauws, we need another agency kick butt ss like istock used to do,
and adobe is the one to do it . the name itself effaces ss.

the million dollar quote...
i too felt that what has been happening at ss, is because they parachuted the former Istock managers to ss;
or at least, implemented the red book manifesto of istock ;)
