Title: EL pricing on FT
Post by: fotografer on October 03, 2007, 01:02
Hi, A  couple of weeks ago I decided to put my El's at max of 100$ just to give it a try because I thought that if somebody really wanted a photo that they would pay it, well today I have had a 100$ sale.  :)
So don't undercut yourselves, I started off at 10$ and have gradually increased and my El sales rate stayed the same after each increase.  I only sell one or two a month but I would have to have sold 10 at the original price to make the same money so I thought that it was worth the risk even if I started to sell less.
Just thought that I would share that with you incase anybody is hesitant about raising their prices.

Very true!  I still see the same number of EL sales since increasing my prices to $50.

I have increased to $50 on mine lately as well, and consider increasing to the same on older photos. Is it possible to do that in one, global operation, or do I have to edit each photo?

In the past I have written  to support to get the whole portfolio put up in one go.  I am going to do it again now and get them all put to 100$ now that I know that they will sell at that price. It was done very quickly.

I had to email them twice to increase my EL prices to $100. It sure paid off - a few weeks later I had two ELs in one day!

Thanks, I'll have to remember to check to see if it's been done.

I've taken a slightly different tack - the proven sellers are at $100 and the rest at $50. It's really hard to know if we're doing the right thing - you will never know if anyone passed over a file for price.

ELs have been really good at FT, so it's certainly worth trying to maximize our total $$ from those sales.

It would be nice to have some bulk edit tools for these things though (without having to go to support).

agree,I wish they implemented a system for that or may be they could have a fixed priced like many others, which could be 100 dollars

what's really odd about this is that if you look as some of the big players they have thier EL prices set very low????? some at $20........I don't understand that.  Are they getting that many more EL sales because of the lower price to make up for it???

 beats me...

I have set them all to the max price $100 .....if somebody wants it......I think $100 is not going to stop them from buying it....I still don't like getting only $37 out of $100, but oh well.   I wish EL's were 50%...they should be.
