In general:

a) It is nice to get a bonus. That is good. However - the author of the works should decide whether he/she wants to opt-in, or opt-out.
b) ALL "ai" companies (i.e., midjourney is more visible - but ALL of them) - should be paying authors in PERPETUITY. I.e., DAILY micropayments, say paid out every two weeks. "They" are trying to make "perpetual" recurring revenue - so since their ENTIRE MODEL references previous works - they should ALSO pay authors EVERY SINGLE TIME a model that is used to generate an image was based off of one of their works is used. VERY EASY TO DO.

My payment was only $3.29 which makes me very happy as it means very few images were used to train something I deeply disagree with

Should we expect firefly bonus this year?
i see copies of my best seller renderings all over Adobe, even same title and keywords.  :o
I agree with you. My bestsellers also got copied by a dozen other accounts with exact same keywords and descriptions. With current AI it is that easy and it shows that copies are made by AI. My sales are significantly down and its disappointing. I dont know what to do about it either, since copies are not identical, but close enough (nope, I will not post my bestsellers here so more people will copy them, but they were selling 30+ times per day before copies appeared, now its 2-3 sales only)

I hope Adobe takes this issue very, very seriously.

It takes time, research and experience to create a bestseller file. Especially with ai we often make hundreds/thousands of images before we choose the right one and experiment with many, many different prompts to get the details right. Also in traditional still life it would sometimes take me several days to finally come up with a combination that really works and has "flow".

To have these bestellers killed off by lazy louts after one season is very depressing.

I hope Adobe looks into this ad comes up with a useful system to keep promoting the original bestseller file, not the copy cats.

Personally I have changed the way I add titles, making them shorter and very generic. Copies can still be made by using the image itself as a starter, but at least they cannot use my advanced descriptive title.

Many other producers will do the same.

It used to be good for seo to have very specific and good descriptions.

Now long and detailed titles are a liability.

I have several bestsellers with near identical copies. Which probably means they will not sell well this year.

And for teh copy cats this is a great reward that will encourage them to hunt more files to copy.

Copy cats ports have always been extremely successful even in the time they had to take pictures.

ai makes copying so much easier.

But ai should be able to identify which file came first and had great sales and then make sure it still gets promoted inspite of the copies.

You don't keep good positions forever but perhaps more than one year should be possible.

eta:

Perhaps Adobe could give us a "unique" factor for every file when uploading. Perhaps a scale from 1 to 10. 10 means the file is very, very unique, 1 the file is one of near identical thousands of files.

Or happy/sad emojis...gamify it.

I think this would help many newbies to pay more attention and encourage everyone to produce more unique and visually new content.

And again this would be something no other agency has.

It would be a positive visual encouragement to look through the existing collection and come up with things that don't yet exist.

There could even be a factor over the entire portfolio how unique/oversupplied it is.

"23% of your collection is unique" or something like that.

I know it takes resources, but in addition to finding a way to better deal with copy cats, perhaps a visual incentive to encourage creating new work is a good way to help producers.

Adobe is software company & it only makes sense they are heavily invested in AI generative engines.   That is ok, but in my opinion participation in terms of using contributor content for training purposes should be optional.   I am pretty sure there would still be lots of people choosing to stay in, while rest would not feel their creativity has been violated without their consent.

To the p5 exclusive video people:

is the ai training payout on Adobe so lucrative that you might consider adding more files to Adobe, instead of just keeping them all on pond5?

From what I understand a lot of money was paid even for content that never sold.

Will be interesting to see how much the next payout will be, when only one year is covered.

Put in the first 3-5 words of your description in to search.

This is highway robbery! I will NEVER contribute new work ever again! All contributors should strike Adobe!  >:(

Please, give us an option to opt out.

We currently do not allow for an opt-out mechanism for Adobe Stock content, as this content is used for building AI models for a variety of existing and future Stock features.

thank you,

Mat Hayward

Then you just earn less money that will gradually decrease over time. Not really the best outcome.
