You already got your big payment last year. Adobe will not pay you for using the same images to train the same AI application twice. The training has already happened.
I don't understand how some people still believe having their images used for AI training would be any sustainable means of income. It's a one-time thing.

You will probably get a payment for new images you have added since then, but unless you are a new contributor or somehow managed to add as many new images last year as in all your previous years with microstock combined, the amount you will recive will be much smaller.

Two messages from last year from Mat

The initial bonus is based on the all-time total number of approved images you submitted to Adobe Stock and the number of licenses that those images generated in the 12-month period between June 3rd, 2022 to June 2nd, 2023. The bonus is weighted towards license.

-Mat Hayward

After the initial Firefly bonus compensation on September 13, 2023 for eligible online images and their downloads, which occurred between June 3, 2022, and June 2, 2023, any potential subsequent bonuses are planned to be based on new approved images and downloads. Please note, that subsequent bonus calculations and timeline are still subject to further evaluation and the model may change.

Firefly Contributor Bonus
All eligible Adobe Stock contributors with photos, vectors or illustrations in the standard and Premium collection, whose content was used to train the first commercial Firefly model will receive a Firefly bonus. This initial bonus, which will be different for each contributor, is based on the all-time total number of approved images submitted to Adobe Stock that were used for Firefly training, and the number of licenses that those images generated in the 12-month period between June 3rd, 2022, to June 2nd, 2023. The bonus is planned to pay out once a year and is currently weighted towards number of licenses issued for an image, which we consider a useful proxy for the demand and usefulness of those images. The next Firefly Bonus is planned for 2024 for new content used for training Firefly.

Firefly Stock Submissions
With Adobe Firefly now commercially available, Firefly-generated works that meet our generative AI submission guidelines will now be eligible for submission to Adobe Stock. Given the proliferation of generative AI in tools like Photoshop, and many more tools and cameras to come, we anticipate that assets in the future will contain some number of generated pixels and we want to set up Adobe Stock for the future while protecting artists. We are increasing our moderation capabilities and systems to be more effective at preventing the use of creators names as prompts with a focus on protecting creators IP. Contributors who submit content that infringes or violates the IP rights of other creators will be removed from Adobe Stock.

No date yet "...In addition to contributor earnings growing through Stock licensing and Content Missions, we are excited to issue our second Adobe Firefly bonus payment to Adobe Stock contributors in the coming weeks..."

https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2024/09/10/adobe-stock-continued-commitments-to-creators

The rest of the blog post seemed like marketing blather to me. I think what I see in the collection of genAI content (now over 126 million) is way too full of fake Eiffel tower, Grand Tetons, Tower of London, Brandenburg Gate, national flags that look nothing like the real flag (almost half a million "USA flag" with the wrong number of stars or stripes or both) etc etc.

From the blog post "...Over the last year weve made significant changes to our site, policies, and procedures to help identify and ensure transparency around generative content, clarify and amplify our policies around the use of generative AI...". I completely get the idea that customers can use genAI tools to modify a licensed asset - that seems useful. But how is having a collection of misrepresented places, things and events in any way "transparent". Or useful.

How useful are endless repeats of sunsets, pets, roses or pizza? How many thumbs up does the world need? Or women laughing with salad?

Adobe is an open platform, it will have lots of stuff that doesnt sell. Lots of amateur content of people taki g their first steps in the micros.

If a buyer wants an edited premium collection he can easily check out boutique agencies.

I love the ai collection, there is lots of fantastic content there. Also loads of duplicates. But overall much better lighting, colors, image composition that newbie content from camera. The advantage of ai, it does it all for them.

Looking forward to getting paid.

I was actually half expecting to read something about Review Nonsense, but 90% is just standard corporate marketing.

One thing is obvious:  Heavy strategy going forward is AI / Firefly.   There is obvious inconsistency:  Strategy used to be not to allow regular images of flowers, food etc (unless 'exceptional'), yet they instantly accept truckloads of same things, with lower quality, just because it is AI made.

This is acceptable if and only if each image that powered Firefly is purchased at the price of an extended license.
Logical, since it becomes a source of resale.

If this is not the case, where can we opt out and give up this bonus ? Please inform us Adobe.

Did anyone receive any email?  :o

yes,I receive emails every day, lots of emails!  :D

but if you are referring to a specific email announcing the payment of the Firefly bonus,no it has not been issued yet.

we received an email in which it was written"we are excited to issue our second Adobe Firefly bonus payment to Adobe Stock contributors in the coming weeks"

in which it is also specified that all contents (photos, illustrations and vectors) from 3 June 2023 to 2 June 2024 will be taken into consideration and for the first time also videos,all-time approved until June 2.

Indeed... and yet - the corporations (not referring to adobe, referring to midjourney + various other "ai" sites) - they want recurring perpetual income based off of stolen/ripped off assets...

But yes - "they" (corporations) that train the images (and videos) - should make RECURRING payments as a % of the sales they get from the perpetual RECURRING income that they get...

Not to my knowledge.  I'd be first to opt out if possible.

Today on my Adobe Dashboard I saw "Missions".  Its same concept as iStock Briefs, but used exclusively for AI training.  Submit between 500 and 1000 images;  not processed, no metadata.   If accepted - they pay 50$ (so less than 10 cents per image).  These images will not be part of Adobe Stock portfolio.  Images can not already be part of your Adobe port.   Missions that are available to me are "Houses" and "City Streets", not sure about others

the missions are different for each contributor, and are assigned based on the type of portfolio you have,i.e. it is assessed whether you might be suitable for that type of mission.

generally, unless I believe specified, the contents used for the mission can then also be processed and sent for review to be added to the portfolio.

so for example if you take these photos of houses and city streets, you send them for the mission without processing them and without metadata, but then you also find yourself with a bunch of material that you can process and send for review for your port.

I then invite you to read the "Supplemental Works Addendum",because you have just broken point 6 of the "payment of supplementary works" section!  :D

I received email from Adobe Stock a few minutes ago saying that they've added a second round of Firefly payments but I don't see it in my account. They said "A banner on the Insights > My Statistics tab in the Contributor portal provides the specific amount that was added to your account." I did select the "Other Payments" dropdown and it said "You have no other payments"

Does anyone else see anything?

I think waiting until the banners were visible to send the email would have been a good idea...

Edited to add that it did update but wasn't worth getting excited about...

But only started adobe in December 2023, so not much licenses sold (in comparison to most here)

received an amount equal to one Adobe month's salary.

I will receive more next year, since I have uploaded a lot more since May,and I will have made many more sales, because the bonus is not only based on the new content but also on the total sales that this new content has made.

so an extra month for me.

keep it up!  :)

$441.34 with only videos (481 of them)... and I haven't uploaded anything for three years. I'd probably better change that if I want anything from them next year! Still, not too shabby.

That might be correct, there wasn't an opt-out of the initial training. I thought there was an opt-out after that, but I might be thinking of one of the many other sites that are using our work to train our replacement. In any case there is no-opt out now.

Over 1000$ here . Only videos.

I received also an very small amount on P5 and have deactivated the training option there. Not worth it.

But I am happy with Adobe revenue and will contribute to it.

Unfortunately for many of us AI will not go away and it will take over (not in editorial content) at some point. I accept it if the revenue is worth it . In P5/Shutterstock it is not so the reason for my deactivation there.
