Title: First Views on Fotolia
Post by: Destinys Agent on October 08, 2008, 14:34
Is it my imagination but do freshly uploaded and approved files take a few days to start getting viewed?

That's been my experience, typically up to 48 hours with no views then it starts. This is probably while the keywords find there way into the search database and get indexed etc.

For quick viewings try iStockphoto, they have a Browse Recent option which shows images as soon as they are approved and this often gives viewings and ratings.

I noticed that the views fallen drastically last few days, out of usual channel (blue line)...

Similar experience!

Same observation here, views dropped to 50 % of what they were past week.... so do sales.
Have they been playing with the search algorithm again.?.

I've given up trying to figure out the workings of Fotolia. My views are well down but my sales have literally rocketed and this all adds to the frustration with a large percentage of my recent images being rejected (although the same images are selling well elsewhere). I just wish I could add to my portfolio there but they don't seem to want to know at the moment......weird things are happening; I just hope they're for the better.

I still have reasonable acceptance and fairly good views but few sales. I'm just hoping that if i submit enough, that will change.

Today a have 1 view till now, usually before  I had about 20...
I guess the only "way of counting" is different, I hope so!

Perhaps the only zoom on the picture is counting ...

Fortunately, views are returned to the channel...
