I have some files online on Fotolia for about 6 days now. I don't want to complain about having no sales but my files do not even get views. At Dreamstime I am used to get views after about 3 max 4 days. And all my best sellers sold within 1 or 2 weeks. What is your experience with Fotolia? How long does it take to get views? Shutterstock sold within 2 days and depositphoto already has many views (uploaded the same time for both) but just 2 sales. But at least I am seeing something hapening there with views.

For acceptance they are great. They accept about 90% of my Dreamstime images.

My portfolio in in my profile in case you wonder.

Thanks.

F is just one of the lesser performers for many - pennies do dribble in so it's worth conbtributing if you have time, but concentrate on the others

But if you look at the poll then Fotolia is a bigger earner than Dreamstime and Dreamstime is still going well for me even after I left exclusivity. It's one of the 'big 4' so it should sell right?

For some, they do well at FT, others do not.  I make twice as much on DT as I do on FT, while others are making more of FT than DT.  Get used to it.  Images can go without views on FT for eons.  Their search is very sensitive.....one little tweak and you may do well.  I used to make close to $200 a month there, then they tweaked their algorithm and I only make $75 a month there now.  They are among the last sites I upload to.

Views are not realtime on FT - they will update if you edit the file or get a sale but otherwise it's based on some sort of schedule.  Also believe it's just views by logged in members whereas DT seems to count guest views and bot hits (the view count on one of my images jumped by 12000 suddenly for no good reason, not a particularly good image and certainly not a big seller).

you can't predict your sales based on the poll - your mileage will vary - you need to experiment with each agency to see which ones work for you - for me, FT is always less than 123 and even BS

but the larger point is that 1 week or even 3 months isn't enough time to decide - this is a long term project; if you need instant results the racetrack might be better
