I just tried to convert my credits at Fotolia (I have 113) and wasn't able to do it.  When I tried I got a notice that you can't convert credits until your last pending conversion is processed.  what?!

Considering how slow they are to process conversions, this most likely means waiting several weeks between conversions, and building a fair amount of credits in the account without being able to get paid out.

Did I miss some announcement about this or was this just sprung on us out of nowhere?

I wasn't able to either, but I just checked this morning and the link appeared.

I don't know how long it's been like this but personally I've adopted the process of converting credits as soon as the last one gets paid, it's a silly system but works for me. I'm finding that it takes between 4-7 days to get a payment processed.

I just experienced the same thing: "You can not make a new conversion until the previous one has been processed." Perhaps I haven't run into this before because FT used to be one of the faster agencies to pay, but now they're among the slowest -- it's been over a week since my last payment request and they've yet to respond.

I had the same issue yesterday but this morning everything was back to normal. Weird.

no, do you?

Yes, and that appears to be the crux of the problem.  They have never in the past had any rule about waiting until pending payouts are complete to request another.

They are so slow to pay out lately that I usually have two or three payouts pending at the same time.  Apparently we won't be able to do that anymore.  Which would be fine if the wait between payouts was a few days, but 8 or 9 days like is now is unreasonable.

ahh.. i see.  I only request payout once a month... It makes a nice 'monthly salary' type of feeling :)

I wonder is it cashflow issues?

They also changed the minimum payout from essentially 2 credits to $50 not so long ago.

I requested a conversion of $209 on 7-22-08 and it was paid on 7-25-08. Maybe I was just lucky? Or FO loves me especially for some reason?  Somehow I doubt that. Anyway, they have always paid me in a timely manner.

I just requested a payment today so I will see how it goes I guess.

I requested payment 7/31 and got paid today. Fotolia's payments have been less than prompt for a long time. Support's official response from a while back was that it can take up to 2 weeks. They often do better than that, but it's the complete lack of predictability that's a problem.

I think they should consider a monthly system if they can't handle the on-demand setup adequately.  At least then you know from month to month when you'll see your money.

i dont really have a problem with it being unpredictable.   i have always got paid and that is the real thing that matters.  if it takes 1 day or 14 days it doesnt matter.

If you wanted a monthly schedule, you could just request payout on the first of the month, and you would still probably always get your payout before shutterstock and 123RF

Support replied, looks like they didn't like that I blanked out sensitive information in the copy of my drivers license that I had uploaded.

Is there a fast way to delete your portfolio on Fotolia?  Or do I need to go through one at a time?

I've got you all beat - I requested a $300 payment on June 16th - still no payout yet. I've contacted support by email, I've called their customer service, I've sent at least 3 support tickets and nothing has come about yet. They're only response has been either, "give us more time" or "your email has been forwarded to our payment department"
