Title: Fotolia EL Sales
Post by: steppysteph on August 29, 2008, 05:01
I just had 3 EL sales by the same person today. But I am at the bottom rank so I just got 3 $6.6... if it were at another site, then it would have been 4 times the price! Arrgghhh! Not really sure if I am happy about it...

Do you guys often get EL sales at Fotolia when you were just starting out and hence EL sales are cheaper?

I find that I am getting even more now selling them at 150$ than when I had them priced at 10$.  Of course my portfolio is bigger than it was then so there is more chance of a sale but I never notice a decrease in EL sales when I put the prices up.
If it really upsets you to sell them at that price then don't allow the sale of Els until you are able to put the price up .

Yes, I might just turn off the EL sale thingy first since I just crossed the $50 payout mark.

I may be in the same situation.  I just had my first acceptance and am not sure how the pricing works.  Are you suggesting that I can disable Extended Licensing?  Should I?
Thanks,

It's up to you but personally as I am willing to sell an image for 30c then I would also be willing to sell an EL at 6.6$.  I would rather be getting the amount that I get now that I am at higher ranking  but to me it's all money in the bank.  This is just my opinion and I know that some people will disagree with me.

I thought about turning off EL's but I need all the help I can get to get to the next level.  Then I can raise my prices.
