Title: Fotolia exlusive images
Post by: Petr Toman on February 18, 2015, 06:27
I uploaded back some shots  on FT to see if the adobe deal makes some sales. But I almost everywhere put Exclusivity - Yes by mistake as I sell them also on SS. I know I can edit it, but before I do, I wanna ask what it really means in FT terms? As we know many people are "exclusive" and selling everywhere.

Exclusive means exclusive. And  I wont post it here, they close your account in a blink if you are breaking their T&C. Fotolia employees are also on this forum. They dont have a badge on their user name so its a bit covert. Just be careful.

It a pig how the Fotolia system works because every so often they reset the default answers to "exclusive" question on the upload screen

"Do you wish to give Fotolia exclusivity on the sale of this image?    Yes No
Would you like to offer your image in the free section if it would be rejected by the selection team? Yes No"

So you can easily get caught out and give them exclusivity and a free image if you are not careful.

And you can't change those tick boxes once the image is submitted either you can only delete the image and re-load. >:(

This is remarkable issue in the user interface. When contributors makes mistakes, FT can only blame themselves! This is a big booty trap!

Ron I added some flare to your post. Just saying.

Exactly, it's so frustrating... Specially that you need to delete image if you make any mistake, not only that one...

Why do you use (unnecessary) capital letters in your email address?…………

But why don't fotolia just sort that problem out if we choose not to give fotolia exclusivity and a free image why do they reset the questions?

I don't have an answer for that Teddy. I will check it out. My last upload I had to click those settings only once, then all images after that had the same results automatically checked. Even the categories and sub-categories stayed as they were for the previous image. If I logged out and started over again I had to reset the defaults I wanted. I'm assuming you are experiencing the same results, if I am mistaken please let me know.

Beppe Grillo, if you prefer to send an email to [email protected] instead I will still respond to you as quickly as possible :)

Have a great weekend!

I just uploaded an image to confirm. I found that the default answer to the questions "Is this file exclusive to Fotolia?" and "If your file is declined by our editors, can we place it in the Fotolia free section?" was NO.

If you are finding a different result in your account, will you please send me an email or PM with your login name or account number name so I can check it out?

Thank you,

Mat

Why only Exclusivity column cannot be sorted in files table? With all these troubles sorting can save time for verification of accidents.

Well, I can confirm that those sometimes get mixed up, usually in Safari. Extended price resetting itself to 20 when pressing the Ok button, Exclusive and Free set to Yes, not remembering last categories ....

I'd recommend using Firefox for Fotolia, as I only had those with Safari as far as I remember.
