you can move unsold content to free section.
what do you think about this?
I dont give my images for free! Subscription sales are too low, it is almost free, I dont give anything for free!

perhaps. but free files are limited per day. today it is free, tomorow might not be :)

Does it really help to sell more there? I mean, if someone wants free image, he probably isn't ready to pay for images...

From their website:
"Your files will be added to this section for a period of at least 18 months and they will be downloaded using standard Fotolia contracts."
TO me it looks like they have to stay there for at least 18 months.

also if you submit image for free when it is accepted, you cant delete that image for 18 moths... good to know. :)

You earn 0.5 credits for each image (wow!) :D
I have three images from a series and only had 2 dlds with them in two years (all sites). So maybe they are worth only these 1.5 credits? ::)
As I understand, these files won't be free in FT, only in some partners using API.
Here you will find files you have on Fotolia which had no sale for the last 24 months.
You have the possibility to add them to the Fotolia free files API and earn 0.5 credits by doing so.
Your files will then remain in that section for a period of 18 months and will be available for downloads through the Fotolia free files API.
To benefit from this offer you just have to select the related checkboxes and to select "add to free selection".
Although added into the Fotolia free files API, this files will still be available for standard sales on the Fotolia websites!
Note: files from the Fotolia Free files API will be distributed through partners sites using the Fotolia free site API as well as the Fotolia free files section.

Yes Peter, I got that impression already. Very greedy :P ;D
But yes, they don't get anything for free. If it doesn't sell at Fotolia, it might sell at another site. Free images only benefit the site, not the photographer.

I decided to test it out with one of my earliest images. I click on "edit data" for that photo, checked make available for free (this is an old approved image) and then submit to update that info, nothing happened anywhere, no additional 0.50 credit, under unsold file, nothing shows up either.
Right now if I click on unsold file, it does not pull anything up, it says there is no unsold file?? On the main page under My File, there is a Download column where I believe you can sort.
Has anyone successfully moved approved image to free section since this piece of news? as always, short on instructions on that site and I am clueless.What am I missing?

While I don't mind the "Free image of the Week" thing, a wholesale pool of them is ridiculous.
In the graphics design community, there is a website called No Work on Spec, or something like that. Micro photogs should follow suit with a No Free Images movement.
You should be compensated for work, and that's that. There are enough free image sites elsewhere to satisfy the desires of those who can't pay or for those who just refuse to pay.

as loked in yesterday..i have 10.600 pics which was unsoald... and realy i dont think.. i give theme all away for 5.300 euro .. thats really great

ah, I figured this out.
one of my first files uploaded and approved on 02/14/2007 (exactly 24 months ago) that had remained unsold just showed up under the Unsold file section and I was able to move it to Free section - and my credit went up by 0.50. So basically the unsold files will be listed under the UNSOLD section as they turn 2 years old. I joined Fotolia exactly two years ago.

A pity they didn't include a delete option for spring cleaning.
Or a direct way to reshuffle your keywords just in case that was the reason why it hadn't sold.
Interesting to see images that have been forgotten and the quality of images accepted over two years ago.
