It's sad this situation, "due to the recent Presidential Executive Order in the United States (Executive Order 13884) regarding activities with the government of Venezuela, Adobe is no longer permitted to provide you with access to software and services, or to make your Works available to customers."

I'm Very sad ! :'( :'( :'(

So sorry to hear your pain. I'd be devastated if I was cut off from my stock income.

Understandably - I wonder if there are any exceptions for sole proprietors? I thought sanctions were to be imposed on high level officials?

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2019/10/adobe-cancels-all-user-accounts-in-venezuela-to-comply-with-trump-order/

https://www.fastcompany.com/90414653/adobe-shuts-down-photoshop-in-venezuela-because-of-trumps-sanctions

Apparently Adobe's interpretation is broader than some other companies' - perhaps they'll change their view of what's needed to comply?

As an American, I offer you my sincere apologies and good wishes going forward.

Please know that many millions of us are unhappy with the status quo here and working hard to change it.

Wow! I'm so sorry! I am not much into politics so I don't know what exactly is going on, but I hate to see "small" people get hurt because of political games or whatever. I also wonder how will designers work there if they can't get Adobe software at all.

I just read about it in the news. The sanctions are quite comprehensive. US companies are forbidden to have any sort of contact from Venezuela. People can't even ask for refunds, that is forbidden by US sanctions. Nothing Adobe can do about it.

Why not to use VPN that gives you an IP from another country and access it?

VPN probably won't work because he still has to give paypal or bank account which are both revealing country where owner is from. But maybe is worth to try.

You are right, I misread the initial post.

It is feaking cruel to punish regular citizens for whatever their government is doing. It is absolutely inhumane.

He also have to change his account to say he isn't from Venezuela. Not sure if Adobe Stock requires ID to proof one's country of residence?

Anyway, I don't think Adobe would make it easy for people to fool them (but who knows). Sanctions are a form of arm twisting. They aren't meant to be easy to get around.

You forgot that many more millions are not happy about that, while seeking a long overdue change, required to fix an obvious mistake!

Don't mistake America for a minority of brainwashed talibans.

It is so in theory, but the sanctions extend beyond. Companies like Adobe restrict their use and sale of software to all Venezuelans, whether or not they are from the government. it must be because they have no way of knowing who belongs to the government of Nicolas Maduro and then restricts all Venezuelans so as not to have problems with the United States Government.

On the text.

I think the same. I am not a government official of Nicolas Maduro. I have no links with the Nicolas Maduro government. I am not their partner or supporter.

in Executive Order 13692 of March 8, 2015 (Blocking Property and Suspending Entry of Certain Persons Contributing to the Situation in Venezuela),
as amended, as relied upon for additional steps taken in subsequent Executive
Orders, and in light of the continued usurpation of power by Nicolas Maduro
and persons affiliated with him, as well as human rights abuses, including

Speaking about human rights abuses, arbitrary and unlawful arrests and detention, etc, etc, he has no problems with the Saudi King and his government killing American residents, chopping and dissolving their bodies...  >:(

Don't expect consistency from America's would-be emperor, especially as regards Russia.

Exactly right. And he would do the same thing to his political opponents here if he thought he could get away with it. So far, we haven't reached that point. Not yet.

Sad.
