According to the Fraser Institute report...  Canadians who need medically necessary surgeries waited longer than ever for treatment with average wait times hitting 20 weeks, a new Fraser Institute report concludes.

Bahaha, the Fraser Institute says it all right there. The South Park of responsible studies.

The Fraser Institute has been a Canadian think tank for over 40 years. By the way Bahaha you did not say how long you had to wait for your three free surgeries ?

You didn't ask. But, first one was approx 6 hours to wait after I reached the hospital. 2nd was 3 days, but I was in hospital. Third was outpatient and was less than 2 weeks. And again, parking was my only associated cost.

The Fraser Institute has been a Western Reformer think tank aimed at skewing opinions to the far right for over 40 years.

I am very glade you got treatment fast. That is not the norm for Canada. I hope you are doing better now.

Thank you. It actually is the norm for required things. We have our issues, and wait times for things like herniated discs and stuff can be high depending on the province, but some studies show they are no worse than average in the US.

The thing is, I don't understand the mindset where you (meaning the US) actually prefer to pay more in insurance premiums and deductables than you would in a basic tax scheme like we do and other countries do.

Venezuela is not a socialist country, its a country taken by a bunch of crooked drug dealers ruled by an ignorant clown (Banana Republic Donald Version) supported by Putin

Agree. It isn't a case of left or right in this case. It's authoritarianism. Here's a comparison with France, as that is another country that would be considered very left leaning by some Americans (though the rest of the world would mostly probably think of them as centrist at most):

Govt. Expenditure as % GDP France 41% Venezuela 40%
Amount of employees in Public Sector France 28% Venezuela 29%

Most highly developed first world nations have similar figures.

He is from the UK and they have really poor free health care.
So says Trump. It's not perfect, but we have a higher average life expectation than the US

Not even sure if Mic would have been cover because of his old age in the UK.
What? It's private health care that cuts you off or charges you much more at certain age points. My Mum fell and broke her hip at 90 and was operated on, no questions.

Sean I have been to all those places. Very high taxes, some have free health care but poor care. Many of those people with money come to America to get great heath care. Even Mic Jagger came to California to get his heart worked on. He is from the UK and they have really poor free health care. Not even sure if Mic would have been cover because of his old age in the UK.  Sean it seems you clearly like Socialism in America. That is your right. For me Socialism is just a pre- word for communism. Sean is the world going to come to an end in twelve years for our abuse of the pollution in the world. You don't even need to answer that, AOC says it will come to an end.....We all know AOC is so smart...

Secede. Seriously. Get by on $1 back for $1 paid in tax. New York gets back only 80, yet THAT'S where MicK Jagger went for his heart operation. My mother lay in the hallway on a gurney for 24 hours when she went to the emergency room...in New Jersey. She was seriously injured by subpar medical care...right here in the USA. Right here in the USA, where getting subpar medical care not only injures you but also bankrupts you. These are the countries with the best medical care:

Canada
Qatar
France
Norway
New Zealand
Germany
Hong Kong
The Netherlands
Switzerland
Singapore
Luxembourg
Japan
Sweden

The U.S. ranks #37.

Coincidentally enough, Texas ranks #37 in health care in the U.S. Maybe that's why Jagger didn't go to Texas for his operation.

Alexander, can you travel to Colombia and get a Colombian ID? After our local elections you can start to have one in Ccuta.

It's a little difficult for me. I live in Caracas. If i live in Zulia or Tachira states, they are border states, i would be Immediate and reasonable option. I have a regular job that pay a crap salary per hours, i only can travel on weekends, if i travel to Cucuta Colombia or Brazil it should be on road by bus. Some airlines no longer provide services and those that are still tickets are very expensive. I use microstock in order to survive, getting some extra money, also  i have a relative in another country, who help me. Survive the economic difficulties in Venezuela. Inflation in Venezuela is the highest in the world. Venezuelans are fleeing to other countries, since it is difficult to live here.

I hope you find a way. I don't like Maduro but I don't find the US and European embargos useful, which affect people like you. Knowing that the corrupt are a few.

Sanctions do not work by applying them to ordinary people. Look at Cuba, they are still communists and they have the Castros already 60 years in power. I don't know if all foreign companies are going to apply the same thing Adobe and Oracle did. Put everyone in the same bag.
Sometimes I think that ordinary people for governments are nothing more than disposable pieces, which they use to achieve their goals and then discard them.

From what I have read ordinary people are not the target of these sanctions, besides which your contract is with Adobe Canada, which has narrower targets and you are not supposed to be collateral damage. This is the link to the Canadian sanctions related to Venezuela https://www.international.gc.ca/world-monde/international_relations-relations_internationales/sanctions/venezuela.aspx?lang=eng
I would push Adobe Canada to give you a specific valid reason why they have disabled your account as the sanctions do not apply in your case.

I received this email from Adobe. And you're right. It's Adobe Canada, because I always see it in the payments that are made to me in Paypal. However, in the email it says they will delete my account on October 28 th, 2019.

You need to draw a more personal response from them as I am sure that they know they have no legal basis for deactivating your account.  You can also tell them that if by the 28th you account is deactivated I will deactivate mine also, Objowl.

I do know what I am talking about. Sean try paying 70% of tax on what your income is. That is what the New Socialist Dems want. They have even stated that amount. Comrade Bernie will need at least 70 % to pay for all your student loans, free college for future student ,free heath care for all including illegals. 70% may in truth be low for the Socialist Dems. Yes I forgot the New Green Deal. You will not be able to use anything but solar or wind power. Who will pay for this yo Sean..it is Socialism.
Literally none of what you said is correct.  Again, sorry.  It's like I'm reading one of the crazy emails my relatives send me.

I applaud Sean's maturity. I was about to try and give ELI5 explanation of how tax bands work etc. but you're absolutely correct Sean. It would be a waste of time. If someone wants to claim 70% taxation rates are on the cards for the US it's up to them to provide the evidence.

and as just one example of his misuse of 'facts', proposed higher rates would only kick in after the first million or so; rather than the socialist security system which protects the  1% which stops collecting the 6% FICA taxes on incomes over $132K

Sorry this happened to you @alexandersr and any other photographers/artists in your country. Did any other  US based agencies send you a letter as well? Like Shutterstock?

This type of bullying from the US president will only hurt the US citizens and US companies in the long run. Many countries and companies will look elsewhere for a more stable business partner and the US will lose it's financial dominance in the world because of actions like these.

I think 80% of Adobe's and shutterstock's content comes for Russia.(Anyone please let me know if this percent is wrong) I wonder if any future sanctions on Russia and it's citizens would cut the size of those agencies catalogs.

Because he has large sums of money and it's an isolated case involving one person... so it's a completely unfair comparison. The US, or even Texas, could have the best surgeon in the world, or the best hospital in the world, but we're going on averages for the majority of the population.

Surely you're not going to question how Alabama can come last in education if some individual got a record score on an exam?

The US is ranked 37th for healthcare by the World Health Organisation. The UK is ranked 18th. You'd think the UK would be worse if it's free... but obviously not.

He has a base in NY as well as other places, so maybe it was just more convenient at the time? Sorry, I have no more insight into Sir Mick's decision than anyone else here.

If a US celebrity endorsement is what you need/want  ::), Johnny Depp's daughter's life was saved by Great Ormond Street Hospital, an NHS children's hospital in London (as she was in the UK at the time) and he was delighted by her treatment there.

Thanks you, very much. Only Adobe has sent me a letter. I agree with you, a lot of russian are contributors on microstock agencies.  Things are getting worse in Venezuela. People are running away, as you can watch on some Youtube news channels.
