Universal health care, while imperfect, is generally a good idea for for low income and middle income people. In the United States, the richest 5% of tax payers pay 56% of federal income tax

Even putting aside the talk of universal health care, almost all people in the United States are net beneficiaries of taxes from the ultra wealthy, all because the ultra wealthy pay the majority of taxes.

"The top 5% of households, three quarters of whom had two income earners, had incomes of $166,200 or higher."

That means in a lot of those cases, each person in a two-earner family earned an average of $83,100 per year. Not exactly ultra-wealthy.

However, there are a few dozen families who ARE ultra-wealthy, and this year their tax rate fell BELOW that of the middle class for the first time.

It's sick that the ultra-wealthy have bought our government representatives and had laws passed that give them ever greater wealth while simultaneously having laws passed that give them lower tax rates.

They game the system so that money is extracted from the lower classes and passed up to them....whether it's through stagnant wages that give them unprecedented corporate earnings and bonuses, predatory lending practices that keep the poor in debt and paying exorbitant interest rates, creating a gig economy that keeps workers from getting benefits, and any other number of nefarious means.

Honestly these talking points are just propaganda by ultra wealthy elites.

People need to understand that what the top 10% or 5% pay is irrelevant. Pretty much anyone outside the top 1%-0.5% is one cancer diagnosis or other negative life event from the street (in the US).

The top 1% have 40% of the wealth in the US.

The difference between one million dollars and 1 billion dollars is approximately 1 billion dollars. You can get paid $2000 per hour for 40 hours per week for TWO HUNDRED YEARS and still not have a billion dollars.

It's infuriating that people will throw out stats like most millionaires are first generation (not that I've actually seen even that stat convincingly backed up) when millionaires are a distraction. The people out there paying no tax and sponging up government payouts aren't the poor, or even the top 10-20%. They are the top tiny fraction of 1% who own almost everything and fund think tanks, politicians etc. to keep us all fighting each other and looking the other way.

If politicians confiscated the wealth of ALL billionaires in the world, it would not be enough money for the US budget for one year. Pretty much the same for the ones worth 100 million dollars.
So, they (the politicians) say they tax the red and the blue, when in fact they just buy votes from the purple and really tax the green, because thats where the money is.

It's sad this situation, "due to the recent Presidential Executive Order in the United States (Executive Order 13884) regarding activities with the government of Venezuela, Adobe is no longer permitted to provide you with access to software and services, or to make your Works available to customers."

I'm Very sad ! :'( :'( :'(

Have you received this notice from SS or IS or any other US company?

Only from Adobe. Some people say, it is an over compliance of Executive Order 13884 from Adobe.

I'd say that you are correct. Someone in legal went overboard, otherwise how come, none of the others are making that restriction.

Anyway I hope they just disable, until they figure it out, and restore everything soon. Bad enough to lose earnings, but having everything removed would be really bad.

Good Luck

I asked the Adobe Stock Latin America and they told me that they would delete all the content from the Venezuela accounts. So, it's very sad.

Yes, i have a backup.

I'm glad to hear that, Alexander.

And yes, George is right. Your situation is sad.

Unfortunately, lots of things are sad in this world today. I'm 73 years old (for context born in the USA the year after WWII ended), and for many reasons I consider this the most depressing time period I've lived through.

I'm especially sorry that problems you did nothing to cause and can do nothing to fix have hit you so directly. You have my sincerest sympathy.

Thank you, very much!  and yes, the world today it's very difficult to live, i don't know how it's in countries called first world, but in third world countries with hyperinflation like Venezuela it's like hell. Several countries in South America now have very strong social conflicts, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina, Venezuela and others. Communism, socialism, capitalism and neoliberalism, I think they are models that no longer work.

Capitalism seems to be working great in America. Our unemployment has never been lower, saving funds have never been higher. You are correct Communism, socialism,  and neoliberalism don't work. I am not even sure what neoliberalism is but I bet it is a failure also. America is not perfect by any means but Capitalism dose work, you work hard, study hard and you keep your wealth.

Mostly I'd agree, but we can remember, hiding in the cellar or some school tunnel, in fear of someone dropping a Nuke on us. Called an Atom Bomb back then. We also played in open fields, didn't worry about predators, mass shootings (but there actually were some) , Aids, killer drugs and massive addiction to prescription drugs. Oh yeah we have natural foods now, free range, vegetarian, vegan, or organic, and people still die about the same as we used to.

It's an atom bomb, duck and cover. Anytime, any day...  https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=50s+drop+and+cover&view=detail&mid=18CCD9E839265D72F5E218CCD9E839265D72F5E2&FORM=VIRE

By the way, if the nightly news isn't enough, times have changed, we might not have been The Cleavers or Ozzie and Harriet, but wow NOW? Maybe it's the news? Nope, if it bleeds it leads came in with TV.

And in 50 years, people who are in their 20s now, will be saying, "yeah it sure was good when I was younger."  ;D Of course they won't have Social Security anymore?

The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.

― Socrates

I'm happy to have grown up in the simple innocent times of the 50s (dial phones and B&W TV, that's simple?) and partied with the love children of the 60s, Army in the 70s when we weren't actually at war, but I sure love cell phones, computers and the digital cameras. I guess along with the gains there's always some loss as well.

Yes, i have a backup.

See, a little good news in all this doom and gloom?

Capitalism seems to be working great in America.

Not really.  Income inequality has never been greater, for profit healthcare has skyrocketed costs, and people have to work three jobs just to afford housing and food.  Something is broken.

and America's version of capitalism results in CEO / worker compensation that's obscenely greater than any other country; huge tax breaks for the wealthy that result in none of the positive effects predicted; oil/gas company's that pollute w/o any responsibility, etc, etc

our system is more aptly named corporate socialism - large companies keep all their profits, often paying low or no taxes; but are welfare recipients when they lose money ("too big to fail")

Intagible products happened.

From banks manipulating their "products" to this new "customer / user data is gold" era.

We are getting short in people working physical. Most of us do produce digital products. But we cannot eat a file....

So Adobe has reversed itself for subscriptions to its products

https://www.theverge.com/2019/10/28/20936214/adobe-venezuela-sanctions-us-executive-order

You should ask if this means they will let you keep selling

Wow! Good catch, Jo Ann.

I'm sure we all hope this will solve Alexander's problem assuming Adobe didn't delete his port before reversing course in Venezuela.

Alexander, please do follow Jo Ann's suggestion and get back to us with the results. GOOD LUCK!!!

Man, that was a gutsy thing to do. Did you get any personal response to that request?

Not so gutsy, I only make enough to feed a cat, but the cats were fighting to see which one got fed.
Response was "We are sorry to lose you as a contributor.  Adobe as a global company is subject to the recent Presidential Executive Order in the United States." Mat
Which just goes to prove that they cannot read.

Adobe gave me the same response, when i ask, why they close my account, because i'm not a supporter or member of Nicolas Maduro government.
