Sorry if this has been asked before but my internet connection is really throwing a fit.  Anyway, I've got some files in the unsold file section but not sure what to do with them.  I don't want them in free but can't figure out how to just delete them.  Does anyone know how I can delete them if it's even possible?

Thanks,

Anita

Mine all have N/A under the free column in the unsold tab.  So far I haven't been able to find how to get rid of them.  If they're not selling I don't really want them left on the site.  And searching their forums didn't help at all.

Really frustrated.

Hahahahahaha!  Oh that's funny :)  Acutally found something weird that I checked my uploaded files area and they're all still there with a green bubble but they have a yellow one in unsold.  I also looked at my online portfolio and all the unsold files are still there.  So maybe we don't have to do anything?

Can't you just delete them?  I don't have any in "unsold" but in the regular database (info screen) there is a delete button to the far right.  I've used that in the past and it worked.

I think if you put them in the free section and got paid money for doing so (I think you get 30 - 50cents) you can't delete them within 5 years without refunding the money.

Here in lies my confusion.  Why put them under the unsold files tab but yet still have them available for sale on the site?  Why would I delete them if they're still available for purchase?  Because my understanding of it was that the files would be moved there and unavailable for sale then I could choose what do to with them either donate to free or delete but this isn't the case as I see it.

I think they are in unsold tab because it was possible to give them for free and get paid for it - as mentioned by qwerty. But this option if I am not mistaken is not available anymore - you get no money for them. So I think that at the moment it's just for your info and if you don't decide to give them away for free (absolutely for free) or delete (maybe because of Fotolia ranking - I don't know) it doesn't mean anything and that they are still available for sale.

Ann,
Didn't you ask in the original post "How do I delete them?"
I was responding to that question.  Wasn't suggesting anything.

Anita, unlike at DT, with Fotolia, unsold files can stay in the collection and continue to sell.  You don't have to donate them for free.  You have the option (I wouldn't though because of 5 year lockin  :o) to donate, but you can just ignore it and continue to sell as always.

Warren's right about how to delete, if you want to for some reason.  there should be a button on the right, next to the edit button.

Yep Warren that's what I asked but I asked it before I realized that they were still available in my port.  I'll look them over again and see which ones are worth keeping there for a little bit longer and which I should just get rid of.

When they first started the program I approved a few photo's that did not sell to go into the free section.  I have not seen any additional sales for these photo's and I have not seen an increase in sales on my normal images.  I would avoid sending them to the free section and just let them sit in the unsold column.  Its not worth the $0.50 they offer for the free images.
