Title: Illustrative Editorial Submissions expanded to Bronze rank
Post by: MatHayward on October 27, 2020, 15:37
Hi All,

A quick note informing you we have recently changed the requirements for Illustrative Editorial submissions to include contributors ranked bronze and above. To reach Bronze you must have at least 100 downloads in your account.

If you have not yet reached the rank of Bronze but you have an extensive Illustrative Editorial portfolio, you may submit a link for approval consideration through the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Additional information can be found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/illustrative-editorial-content.html

Let me know if you have any questions,

Mat Hayward

I saw when I was uploading regular pics today. Now that I am reading here the announcement, I guess it's a good time we find out if we are going to expand our sales on that field or not. It is one thing we asked about it all this time and another we test our strength on it. I suppose there is no change in the criteria if Adobe starts accepting illustrative editorial videos of products for example. Since  many of us are staying confined at home, we can make some good use of home studio like lights and equipment. Adobe can also cover a need of product videos in that manner, which could naturally result in both sides earning more.

There's still ranks??

There's still ranks??

Sort of...they really only impact the minimum payment rate on large subscriptions now, and we've condensed them to three primary tiers but the ranks still apply within our system so it's the easiest way for me to explain the criteria.

I'll re-word it here...Once you reach 100 sales in your account, you will be eligible to submit Illustrative Editorial content at Adobe Stock.

Interesting, thanks for explaining. Can you link to where the rank influences the minimum payment on the large subs please?

Thanks Mat, appreciate you always communicating well around here.

Sadly, most of my editorial images though peopleless do not fit AS's idea of illustrative editorial so they all go elsewhere.

Illustrative editorial videos would be absolutely amazing and are definitely a consumer need at this point

Thanks Jo Ann.

I guess what threw my a little with this topic is there used to be a rank listed in your contributor account on Adobe Stock, right at the bottom, but it disappeared some time ago.

Mat - is there an easy way to see our 'rank' now?

It's at the top left corner, if you sort your earnings for "all time" instead of the "this year" default setting, it shows you your rank next to your lifetime earnings. Unless you are taking about the bronze/silver/blah rank system?

No, my apologies for the confusion. It was a mistake to reference "Bronze." It's still an internal reference for this particular access point to submit Illustrative Editorial but for this post I should have simply stated that contributors with a lifetime download count of 100 or above are now qualified to submit illustrative editorial.

That said, if you go to the dashboard section of the contributor portal, click the 'Time Frame' dropdown menu in the upper left corner and select 'Lifetime,' you will see the accumulative total of downloads from your account.

The old rank system used to be the following...

0-99: White Rank
100-999: Bronze Rank
1,000-9,999: Silver Rank
10,000-24,999: Gold Rank
25,000-99,999: Emerald Rank
100,000-249,999: Sapphire Rank
250,000-999,999: Ruby Rank
1,000,000 +: Diamond Rank

I may be forgetting something, but beyond this access trigger for Illustrative Editorial, those ranks are obsolete now. There are 3 primary unnamed ranks that impact contributors.

0-999 downloads result in a minimum subscription royalty of .33
1,000-9,999 downloads result in a minimum subscription royalty of .36
10,000+ downloads result in a minimum subscriptin royalty of .38

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Mat

Which actually, in the consolidation was a raise for contributors. Mat didn't mention that.  :)
