I began contributing to Adobe about a month or so ago and loaded up around 700 images in a short space of time. Whilst doing some housekeeping a few weeks later, I noticed that keywords on approximately a quarter of my portfolio had been changed. Keywords which are specific to the the subject matter have been removed e.g. an image of a hurricane had any and all references to a storm removed; and in some instances completely irrelevant keywords make up the list - an image of a bridge in norway references windmills and the netherlands, palm trees include christmas, ham is listed as all of chicken, beef, pork and fish.
I reported the issue and was told it was a known issue and an engineer was looking into it. I'm guessing it was a test drive of image recognition software on live data. I was advised to open each image in turn and manually remove the irrelevant keywords and add each keyword I considered missing by entering them one by one at the bottom of the edit board. The case was then closed.
Further requests have met with similar responses and the case immediately closed. I've given up and started manually changing the keywords, but it's very time consuming. Since my most recent request, I've also not had a sale. Anyone else had a similar experience? I dont have a massive port, I dont expect to make huge money, but I'd like at the very least to think my hard work was getting a fair crack of the whip and this doesn't feel like it. In my opinion, not like Adobe. The reason I started contributing was because I have been a customer for many years and felt it was a brand I could trust. I've reluctantly decided to post here knowing that as a result there is a fair chance my port will be chucked to the bottom of the search pile and ALL my work will be wasted, but at the same time, it's not fair if this is happening to others without them realising.

Did you select multiple images at once to add the same set of keywords to all of them? Images without existing IPTC data will have auto keywords assigned. If you multi-select several images and add your own keywords, you may be unaware that they already have auto-keywords assigned because your view only shows you the keywords you added. If you select files individually you see the auto keywords.
You need to erase all auto keywords as the first step when you multi-select images to add your own keywords. Could you also share the support ticket number, so I can look into your case please.

Can you confirm where you are viewing the keywords to determine they are different from what you applied? If you are viewing from the public facing portfolio page, the keywords displayed are not necessarily the keywords applied to the image. Those are recommended keywords of similar subjects created by Adobe Sensei to assist customers in their search. If you are viewing from the Dashboard section of the portal and scrolling down to see your keywords and they are different, then it is likely you uploaded with no embedded keywords and selected multiple images at once. Sensei generates up to 25 keywords for you automatically though they can't be seen when multi-select in use. There is a warning message that appears however to give you a heads up.

i don't want to be rude but if an artist can't properly keywording maybe it's time to change job...

I recommend artists use it for suggestions but spend time re-sorting to put what you perceive to be the most relevant and important keywords first then remove what may not be relevant and add what may be missing. It's all about time management. The less time spent on the computer indexing the more time you can spend behind the camera creating.

It's on the list. I agree it's important. I don't have an eta to share with you but I am pushing for it pretty hard as is Dennis.

Mat - I've had the auto keyword tool automatically replace titles and keywords on images. It happens on my phone and tablet. It does not occur on my desktop.

I've not seen any confirmed cases like this in the past. Mobile devices don't necessarily get along real well with the contributor portal though. I'll ask the Product Manager for the portal to investigate specifically with mobile...I'm assuming iPhone and iPad? Please let me know.

Known issue on Adobestock but I always select multiple files and then hit the “delete keywords” and only then I add mine.

With all due respect, that is not how it is happening.
The OP is right, keywords that are probably not in sensei's vocabulary are simply omitted and others changed.
I have all my metadata, always embedded in the image file, still....
I just checked nine of my images and on buyers' site all main keywords are missing, e.g. I have 45 keywords when looking on dashboard and 40 at the so called "Similar keywords" on buyer site" (shown in the attachment bellow).

What a depressing thread. Adobe replaces your keywords and then shows you different versions of keywords depending where you look? Insane.

The customer facing site doesn't display the keywords that are associated with the file. It displays related keywords to assist customers in additional search terms.
To confirm your specific keywords associated with specific files you must view the image and keywords in the dashboard section of the contributor portal.

Well, that is a new explanation of what was happening on FT already.
Unfortunately, changing keywords was an old FT habit. We discussed this in 2015 already, nothing has changed. Adobe took over FT and didn't bother to fix some problems. They just renamed the keyword section to "similar keywords", sweeping it under the carpet.

Did you check the files you think have had keywords changed in the Dashboard section of the contributor portal to confirm? As mentioned, that is where you can see the keywords that are associated with the file. The customer facing site is designed for a different experience to assist customers with search.
