Hi Mat,
This is great news. But, I don't see a way of submitting an application specifically for the premium collection in the link you provided. Maybe I'm just missing something.

Hi Mat,

The entire page is a form with fields for the application.
-
All I'm seeing is the Dashboard for my regular (micro) account (if I'm signed in) or the landing page for Adobe Stock (if I'm not). Typing in the URL gives me a 'can't find server' notice.

I just checked the link and it seems to be working OK. Try a different browser.

No luck with Safari or FF.
Maybe it's trying to tell me something.... :)

Hi Max,
can you give us some more infos about how the Premium collection works?
I suppose it is only for still images, right?
-
will i be able to transfer only photos to Adobe Max from my regular adobe stock account?
-
Apologies for the offtopic but i couldn't resist!
Hi Max,
Beware!
The friendly Adobe guy previously known as just our own Mat.
Now transformed to
...Mat Max!
:P
Edit, just a suggestion, @Mat now you are the most suitable Adobe person to promote the AE <-> C4D workflow.
You will be the one and only Mat Max the Maxon! LOL!
-
Hi, thanks for sharing!
Is this premium collection only for exclusive license images?
This premium collection includes videos too?
Thank you Mat!

Until Mat gets back, the form said confidential, by invitation only. Not sure I'll qualify. On the other hand, I did find this, which might be helpful for starters?

We (Diversity Photos) currently contribute to Premium as well and are looking to add 5 more photographer contributors to our collective. We've had a good experience with premium so far. Our focus is on global diversity. You can check us out at http://adobe.diversityphotos.com (http://adobe.diversityphotos.com) or www.diversityphotos.com (http://www.diversityphotos.com) - feel free to reach out if you're interested.

HI, Matt,
Is this for US/Canada citizens only? There is only State/Province field in the form, and no Country field. And I am from Poland

Is something supposed to happen? I got a confirmation on the page, but it just cleared the fields and stayed there, and I didn't get any email or anything.

And I was wondering about this.

Again is this for exclusive content only?

Hi everyone,
I apologize for being so vague on the details. Adobe MAX has consumed my attention this week. I felt it was important you all knew there was an opportunity to submit your portfolios for consideration by the Premium team so it wasn't just MAX attendees that had the information. My intent is to reach out to the team early next week to get as many details as I can and to share as much as I can with you.
Thank you for your patience!

Anything on this? I haven't gotten any further emails or any other details. Has anyone?

Hi All,
Thank you for your patience. I've been in contact with the Premium team regarding the application process. This was a short-term beta program launched for Adobe MAX and is now closed. Portfolios that have been submitted are being considered by the Premium team. Approved artists will be contacted directly by an Artist Relations Manager from the Premium team within the next 2 weeks via email to start the onboarding process. If it is determined that it isn't a match at this time, I will be contacting you directly to let you know as soon as I get that list which should be within the next 2 weeks.
I want to thank you all for your interest. I'm confident there will be opportunities available in the future and I will be sure to communicate any updates as I get them.
Kind regards,
Mat Hayward

Yes, Mat, I appreciate it too!

Anybody have a feeling of déjà vu?
https://www.shutterstock.com/blog/what-premier-select-means-for-shutterstock-contributors (https://www.shutterstock.com/blog/what-premier-select-means-for-shutterstock-contributors)
but then again Adobe isn't Shutterstock, but then again Shutterstock wasn't Istock.

Once accepted, you can submit only exclusive content, I guess. At least that's how it works with almost anything outside microstock.

I'm not applying for a job, dewm I know neither what it is, nor what I deserve. Not even if this is positive or even negative (for a seller !).
For "larger clients"? This usually means very low prices or even unlimited downloads. All this is just embarrassing. What does the customer pay, how much is the commission? What is expected from the photographer? Any info?

How is it premium then, based on what? And if you can sell the same pictures on other agencies maybe even much cheaper, how do they justify premium prices?

I really asked in up to three emails about the non exclusivity limitation, if there was a maximum or minimum price or any prohibited agency.... and they never answered me. Offset is exclusive to me (for other more fortunate contributors not) and getty is exclusive and abusive for me so those markets in my case were ruled out.
For a similar price you can send the photos to Alamy, upload them to Creative Market at the same price you adobe (and you will never sell any)
Contractually, in my case it was never clear.
I stopped uploading content because I make more money with microstock than with any kind of premium. Upload some family photos that i dont want in micro.

Thank you for the quick response.
For example, I contribute to a "macrostock" agency and they ask for content exclusivity. On the other hand, I send my microstock files to EyeEm and if accepted for their Getty portfolio these files are sold side by side with the "macrostock" agency files. And the "macrostock" agency sends their files to, like, 50 partners, Adobe, Offset and Getty being among them. So no exclusivity condition put on them. The whole stock market looks like a complete mess and most of the agencies are asking for premium prices for files that don't justify those prices at all. At the end, as weird as it sounds, microstock market seems to be the most honest and straigthforward market out there.

For me it is a financial issue. I put a lot of effort into a macro distribution agency and with better photos my income was lower than my microstock portfolio. More quality demands with brutal screens of content, exclusivity and less money.
The only coherent exclusivity I see is that of Stocksy, but unfortunately I'm not there.

In my opinion "exclusivity" with one agency doesn't mean nothing today, because of photographers competition.
From buyer point of view I can find quite any possible similar image in each agency, so why should I pay for "exclusive" image that is not really exclusive, as the agency can sell the same image hundred or thousand times?
"Premium" content has nothing to do with exclusivity, it has to do with the license you buy. Premium content is for big companies that need large number of images with large use licenses: and, of course, as big company you can ask a big discount. So "premium" will never mean more money for contributors, at the contrary it will be less.
Going back in topic: I think Adobe it's very clever not to ask exclusivity, because this is really not a plus. With premium they sell services, I think: they can give selection of images based on specific request, cherry picking of best ones, analyze and give advanced choices to the buyer.
This is only my opinion, of course: I've nothing to do with images agencies, but I work in television programming and I know very very well what kind of research are made by company marketing office, looking for strategies, and what kind of help they ask to external services like image agencies.
If I should look for specific content from (let's say) Adobe video, I would ask for premium services to find right ones, not premium content but premium services.
Real exclusivity (buying exclusive use of an image or clip for limited or unlimited time) is much more expensive, and it's not a "premium" content, it's exclusive license, and its value is thousand of dollars
ONLY MY OPINION!

Our Premium collection consists of some exclusive content and some non-exclusive. It varies based on the agreement with the artist.

So is this agreement available for viewing anywhere or is it a case of each supplier gets a different agreement? Are some suppliers more equal than others?
-
Are some suppliers more equal than others?
Of course suppliers are different, each one is different.
Why on the earth you should think that in this big competitive market we should be all equal? And why we should receive the same agreement (and just a minute after read post complaining about "competition")?
Once again, I think Adobe is doing good: they select the interesting portfolios and then give a proposal on different base depending on how much do they think is portfolio value.
And then you can accept, or not, or maybe you can ask something different.
I can't see a more fair approach than this. Well, it's the very normal way in which an agency should work with his contributors.

So, now I am ready to participate if still possible.

Any update on this? Mat said we would hear within two weeks so do we assume that if we didn't hear within that time we didn't make the cut?

I will personally email anyone that did not make the cut to let them know directly as soon as I get the list.
