I would be helpful for AS to start reading the Description field instead of the title field.
I'm pretty sure most Editorial images shooters are doing it that way as that is what we are all used to for SS.

Very cool but I'm far from that rank :(

Good news, but disappointing at the same time. Why only illustrative editorial?

Also, >25000 downloads is asking an awful lot for folks that weren't around in the heyday of microstock when there were a lot more downloads.

Mat, thanks for the response, I guess I am more concerned with only accepting illustrative editorial. Hopefully that will expand in the future to include all editorial. But it is at least a start!

Hi Everyone,

In addition to the Creative Cloud bonus program announced earlier today, I have more good news to share. We have started accepting Illustrative Editorial submissions from individual contributors. As we are just getting started, we have limited this access to contributors ranked at Emerald or above (25,000 downloads or more). We will expand this access in the future. For now, if you are not ranked at Emerald or above though you feel you have a strong Illustrative Editorial collection already established you may write to us for consideration via the contact us link at the bottom of the contributor portal. Be sure to include a link to your existing work.

To understand what Illustrative Editorial is and to learn about our guidelines, please review the information here: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/illustrative-editorial-content.html

I'm looking forward to seeing what you submit!

-Mat

Excellent news Mat... took a look at the link and it confirms no recognisable people. If you're shooting locations/city scenes etc and the people are small in the image i.e. not the main focus of the image and would require zooming in 100% at full Rez before they are recognisable... would they be accepted or, is that off limits as well.

Again, great to see this move as I'm sure AS will also benefit from this in the long run. Cheers

Please note, this is only for images at present.  We are (sadly) not accepting editorial footage quite yet.

Where can I check my current level? I think I was about to turn Emerald but never checked it again since migrating to Adobe site. Now I don't know where to see it. Just logged to the Fotolia site but couldn't find any information.

Interesting.  My rank reads emerald.  But my download number is a hair shy of 25,000.  Hopefully I'm okay to start.

Nice. I'm selling many of that kind at competing agencies. Waiting with excitement until my current sales volume will qualify me to upload illustraive editorials. Can take a while.

Thanks. Is there a way to know how many downloads we still have to have to reach next level or the rank system died and we got frozen where we were? I have an idea this was discussed in the past but cannot remember.

I googled it, not sure if the info is on the adobe image manager.  you need 25K downloads to be emerald, and that's quite a challenge nowadays. your total DLs are on your dashboard.   I am a long way off. :/

No, we are still tracking sales towards rank. I've seen one case in which the total downloads exceeded 25K though a batch were free downloads from Fotolia days that didn't apply towards rank. Shoot us an email via the contact us link at the bottom of the contributor portal and I'll take a look to see if that's the same for you.

Kind regards,

Mat Hayward

Rank details can be found here but yes, 25,000 is the number to hit for Emerald: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/royalty-details.html

Wow, this is great news!

I'm just below Emerald with Gold rank and a large editorial port. I've written to contributor support with a link to my work to see if I can be included early.

Great news, Thanks Mat

hah, just kidding @Mat, no offense.

I got greater news, already uploaded and listed!

:P

Jokes aside, that is a nice move from Adobe side, as far as I remember
it is not that long that Mat & Dennis run a thread / poll to see our
opinions and intentions on editorial submittions :)

I am miles away from the 25.000 downloads but I have still sent the email with my small illustrative port.
What Adobe Stock could do, aside illustrative editorials, is accept a limited per month number of editorial photos and videos until they shape an initial opinion. This could also discourage all contributors from uploading every single asset we have, since we would have to think twice about our content to send. It is not difficult to understand both sides lose earnings from not being able to do that. Such a move could make Adobe lower the risk they are probably trying to weigh prior to enabling editorial uploads.

Hi,

I just want to direct this message to Matt and anyone else from Adobe Stock who comes on here, I've been a long time reader but not often was I posting.

Thank you for coming in on forums like this and being so honest and helpful with contributors, believe me it is more refreshing that you probably imagine considering how the other agencies deal with us including the one that used to be the most fair and reasonable to deal with but sadly they've gone in a different direction.

It's a business for us but we aren't getting rich here and when we get tricked and screwed and told all this "good news" only to see the payouts drop or realize that we've been out manoeuvred by the very company we trusted it's not good and that's putting it politely.

I am a user of Adobe products (premier and encoder) but I don't have an account with Adobe stock as I am 100% editorial, I don't have a studio and models etc so until you are able to accept editorial I won't be a contributor but I just wanted to pass on my appreciation for you guy coming on here and actually being honest and helpful, was the first thing I noticed.

I cannot find the number of downloads anywhere.

Last time I saw I was Gold and not far from the next level but since then, with the changes to Adobe site, either some information has disappeared from the sites or I forgot where to look and can't find it.

Does anyone knows where to look for the total downloads? Thanks!

Go to Dashboard ,it will list number of DL and ranking you have. Go to Contributor Account, it will list what level(Gold) you are at.

Shouldn't one video download count as about 30 downloads. Video producers are handicapped with this system because they make Adobe much more money for less downloads. Please correct this flawed system of download ranking. Give higher value sales appropriate ranking.

If you can, would love to see what type of images Adobe accepted from you for editor. Thanks, Scott
