I just noticed that the default entry for EL price has gone from $100 to $10 dollars, and I hadn't noticed, my last 30 odd images were up for $10 ELs.
Am now having to go through editing them and increasing the price by hand. Be warned and check you uploads.

Yes, same here!!!!!

I noticed this seemed to start around 7/22.  Some pics are set to 10 credits for EL, and some are correct for 100 but those don't have the EL box checked, and I'm sure I checked it when uploading!!!!

I've uploaded some for the first time in months.  Had to change the EL from 10 with every image.  I'm not too concerned though, as I don't seem to get any EL's with FT now.  They used to sell more than any other site but it looks like those buyers have gone.

When reading this,  I checked my portfolio at Fotolia and found that all the X extended licences seem to be set to 20.
So I asked support to set them correct again. Their answer was that on their website all looks good.
They couldnt verify what my problem was.

Well, the problem must be on my side then. I installed Opera and Google Chrome (I use Firefox as my standard browser) and logged in.
All was correct indeed. I couldnt find anything wrong.
So the problem must be in Firefox.
Searching further at last I found that something was wrong with the settings for Fotolia in Picniche toolbar. When setting  the number  for the extended licenses correct the problem was solved.

(I was getting this problem after installing a new harddisk and a clean install of all the software. I missed the correction of this setting.)

If what you have found seems to be the same problem you can found the solution in: Extra/Picniche-tools/Options contributor/Tab Workflow.

I use Chrome, and by default, my ELs are set to 10.  I'm Emerald and my lowest price defaults to 2 as it should, and the others scale up from there, but for about a week, I've had to add a zero to the end for ELs on every upload.  I figured they'd get it fixed soon and I'd just grin and bear it, but now they're saying the problem is on our end... I don't think so.

I noticed the same last week. Some images were set back to 10. I emailed them and they corrected them all back to 50. The big problem is that they set 10 as standard and I have to change it manually with every upload. The same with Exclusive & Free section. Fotolia used to remember my settings.

Thanks very much for the headsup!  I will have to go through and check my last couple of batches.

I don't know if this is a glitch or an attempt to get us to sell ELs at 90% discount.  I kind of suspect the latter.

But I agree with Sharpshot.  I hardly ever get an EL there anymore.

OK, so it seems you have a different problem.
But you can ask support to set this right for you for all images in your portfolio.
I did this different times before and it was allways quickly solved.

In my case Fotolia was right. The settings were correct, only not on my computer.

Just wanted to give the answer from Fotolia support in regards to this. They give the technical ''why's'' of why this happens, but it seems weird that all our ''cookies'' got reset... unless they changed or updated it somehow.

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for your email. We have sent a request to our technical department in order to change this for you.

Please note that when you submit the indexation form (simple or multi) we'll store the value you chose for the Extended RF license (X) in a cookie, in your computer.
Note: in multi indexation, prices will be stored only if all contents of the same type have the same price.

However, if you use the indexation form that contains contents without saving the Extended RF license price, we have 2 cases:
* It will display the cookie value for this content type if we have it.
* It will display the minimum value, if we don't have the cookie value saved yet.

Kind regards,

Fotolia CS Team U.S.A.

^^ Thanks for posting.  I am a bit unclear though.  Are we all supposed to write to support to have our default changed back to 100, or just clear our cookies, or what?

Yeah write to support so that they do it on all your files for you. For the future, it's a bit unclear, try setting it and saving it so that the cookie remains there.

Why it could be suddenly a question of cookie?? Fotolia done it conscientiously in hope to catch more low EL sales, i guess many contributors sell EL at 10 and don't know it.

It might be but I don't find any logic in this, why would they prefer receiving 8$ instead of 80$?

Here is my current settings:
Extended X  [10-50] 23 %  with $10 as the default

Last month I had a pic sell for $50 and I got $11.50 as my commission. I had that pic set at $10 as all of mind are set to the default. Thus I am confused by all of this now?  Also I've had 4 pics sell at $20 and I got $4.60 as my commision - they are all set to $10 defaults...

Was your image sold as EL or were they simply popular images who had a higher standard selling price and got you 50$ for a large format? Anyhow this question might be best asked to Fotolia support to shed some light.

They sold as an EL - I don't have any popular images for sure lol! I never touch the default setting of $10 on any of my pics. I just figured someone purchased it for $50. I am only a bronze level thus capped at $50 max but you guys can get up to $100 on an EL.

I don't want to derail this thread but I posted this:
http://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/fotolia-continuing-serious-el-pricing-issue-check-it-out/

I was under the impression that most regulars here at MSG (and/or Fotolia uploaders) were aware that this 10 credit EL thing could happen anytime (as it was "normal" already for a bunch of us).

Some contributors believe that Fotolia intentionally lowered the default for ELs to 10 credits - which may or may not be true.

If true though, why on earth would they undercut their own 2/4 largest resolution prices (depending on rank) as they are >=10 credits ???
It would be cheaper for many customers just to buy the 10 credit EL rather than paying for a regular RF XXL license...  :o

after more fact finding(s) here what I found for my portfolio:

1. Once you get promoted you can adjust your better selling images to the new EL Sale Price- If the sales have been too low they will tell you how many more you need to sell before you can adjust the EL Sale price.

2. There does appear to have been an hiccup in which the default was set to $10 no matter what your level was at that time

It would be nice if the system would automatically raised the EL Sale price to that new level. - Just my thoughts... :-X

My last uploads (August?) are correct, but now I am stuck at 10 and cannot change it.  I tried in ie on two computers.

Now, here is the kicker.  I just tried in Firefox and I get this message

There was an error with your request.
* There is no match for this login and password.

So - if I change to a browser that doesn't have a cookie I no longer exist I have lost the priviledge to sign in?  If tied to "cookies" (how stupid is that? ? ?) you cannot sign in from another or a new computer?

I also noticed recently that I go to a us.fotolia.com site where for years the us. was not in the url.
