Hi guys,

I think this does not influence every contributor but for those who are from some countries have problems. As you know Adobe changed its market policy recently and preferred to present only best sellers' works to costumers from these countries while blocking all others. I have not sold anything after this revision. I am not sure if this is directly related to this policy change or something else. How is your situation on this issue?

My sales have been very poor. I have 13,000 pictures and only earn 100 to 200 dollars per month, so I don't have a great feeling.

I haven't seen a drop in volume of sales but over the last week, $ value of sales has taken a tumble. Could be seasonal but hopefully it picks back up again.

No, I dont know. Was there any official announcement? When did the change take place?

(I did not notice any change in earnings.)

My sales and earnings on Adobe have been going down for weeks in opposite to all other agencies. Not sure it has anything to do with any recent change as it's been going on for quite a while already. Even though this time of year doesn't seem to be too great for me on all agencies, Adobe is the only one where my earnings are significant smaller compared to the same period of last year. On all other agencies the effort of submitting new work is paying off. On Adobe I have a lot of trouble getting new images sold and I am even considering to not upload new images there. They are not getting noticed anway, so it seems like a waste of time.  :( I think more than any change in region-based image display the lack of promotion of new work to customer is my biggest problem on Adobe.

Neither do I. Can anybody post a link about this ? I found this thread talking about it : https://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/is-there-a-proble-with-adobe-stock-website/

Could it be, that you have more trouble with selling new photos since around February? I really do not remember well when, but for sure I got an email or information via other way, but surely from Adobe itself, that they do not want to support new images anymore, but support best selling images and contributors in the future to get all time in search results on the top - which also means: customer ALWAYS see the same images coming up and cannot search for newest images (anymore)!

Mat even did not answer my question about this!
Because if it is true, then indeed uploading new images makes no sence anymore, if we are not one of the selected best sellers on Adobe - maybe even them will not benefit from their new images anymore. Adobe thinks they have enough good images and want to concentrate on that best selling images. They do not care that customer might want to search for new images. The old ones must be enough - especially for the NEW countries, who also only get selected images - FOR FREE, because usually these new countries are to poor to buy images. So Adobe is already happy, if they pay for their software. And for that they give away best images to them.

BTW: If that all is true: Not only uploading new images is not worth it anymore, also IF you keep on uploading new images: all the advices about keywording and titles is not worth to follow anymore, too, because instead of giving a chance to get a good ranking for new images in the first 30 days, they will now directly rank on lowest ever!

Lets hope, this time Mat will answer about this situation.
I also asked Adobe via support team, but did not get any satisfying answer. Only bla blabla.
Not telling us the truth of it to the point itself says all what we need to know:
Stay away from Adobe, if you are not one of the best sellers there.
Do not upload any new images - waste of time!
If you have OLD images which sells regularly, you might find out there is no difference between now and before the change of Adobe. Which means: Keep them online! But all new images better upload to agencies which give new images a chance.

AND keep in mind: they will give away best images! So, in a way they also treating their best seller contributors.

I am still confused about their regions: what is it behind it: just poor regions or at least religion reasons? Because MOST of these countries are moslem countries.

No, it already started last year for me. Adobe had it's peak for me in Summer 20, since then it's only going slowly downhills. This month is the worst. Adobe isn't even among my top selling agencies anymore.

Yes it seems submitting new images futile for now. Recently I feel this as well because of promoting only best sellers. They might try to eliminate all other contributors not by force but their "own will".

In the short term, this might be a logical step for them but in the medium turn and long run, the costumers will notice the scarcity of new images and editor teams pressure dealers to have agreements with other stock agencies and they lose solid costumers in vain. When Adobe realize this, it will be too late and the smart guys who suggested this region system will be accused. How is this theory? :)

#I don't have any additional information to share at this time.

Why? Not because Mat do not want to answer! Mat is not allowed to answer, even IF Mat (would) know the answers!
Mat earned a lot of respect from most Adobe contributors - best shown in this forum and includes me! And I am sure that 90% or more STILL have this respect to Mat, but now feeling with Mat, because he also got cut in his ways for helping/ give information from his bosses. I dont want to be in Mats poor situation now, which only gives him more respect from me to him.

Since iStock found a way to treat their contributors, now nearly all agencies follow and try to be the best treater!: shitterstock, Adobe and newest Alamy. Comming soon dreamstime?

Well, not sure what to think after saying AS was doing ok. This week has been the 2nd worst out of the last 12 months including Christmas / New year week. Volume doesn't seem to bad but there is nothing of any value and weekly earnings are nearly half. Not great!

what happened to "adobe sales will explode since we've all left SS"???

my adobe sales have been steady over last year - no big chance either direction

For me, the volume is a little down this week for the time of year, not much though but its the value of sales that has tumbled over the last 10 days. About 35% drop in and sales seen to stop once I hit a curtain amount. Instead of an up and down line for daily amounts, you can draw a straight line across. Unusual pattern that stands out against the rest.

I had hoped Adobe would pick up after SS debacle but not happening.  Not sure if it is this or offring photos for free now but my sales are not what they were.  Disappointed.

Sales have remained the same for a long time, even though I regularly add new photos. I'm more worried that the new photos are selling so poorly.

What does region revision mean? They added new territories and limited what is shown in those markets. I didn't think that meant, former markets were changed and specific contributions were not offered as before.

Let me try that another way. Nothing was limited or changed, just that new markets were added with selective images added?

As Adobe Stock expands into new countries such as Egypt, we are building collections, starting with a selection of high quality images from our top sellers. We are adding regularly new content as we expand our efforts in developing the service offered into these countries.

As already discussed the full contributor portfolios remain available in our established markets. Contributors can quickly verify that by switching the Region in the footer of Adobe Stock to US or UK.

thank you,

Mat Hayward

Nothing removed, only new places being added.

No my sales haven't "dropped dramatically" and no there has not been any explosion of sales because people left SS. If there's any change, my sales are bigger and better on Adobe, this year. But I've added newer and better work as well.

So, Uncle Pete, from this new uploads you got sales as usual like before any changes on Adobe? Or less? Do you think, new content still worth it to upload?

Do YOU (Uncle Pete) think, this 30 day issue for ranking on Adobe still works, if customer cannot search for new content and new content not get any priority anymore on Adobe?

I looked at all my sales from this year on Adobe to get some numbers to make sure I am not actually imagining things when I say that, in opposite to other agencies, new content does not sell on Adobe for me:
I  had 1084 sales in 2021 so far. Only 8 (!) downloads were of images I submitted in 2021, so 0,74%.
My port has around 5700 images. Around 1200 were added in 2021, so 21% new images this year.

Yeah, I am pretty sure I am not imagining things. :-\ And since this is an Adobe-only phenomenon I am quite sure it's not because I suddenly started submitting crappier or less useful images.

You must be very lucky if you sell new uploads on all other agencies. Usually, people are complaining about not selling new stuff on any agency.

My sales are down too but there must be some other reason than the mentioned territorial change.
If I look at my tax withholding, all my sales are coming (always did) from the US which is stranger than adding Egypt to the existing territory.

I've only been doing microstock for like 2,5 years, if "new" stuff didn't sell for me, I would not be selling much at all.  ;D I think the contributors who complain about new stuff not selling at all agencies are the ones that have been with microstock much longer, so they are probably noticing a much greater difference between established content and new content than someone who in comparison is fairly new to microstock like me.

I am not saying new stuff was selling like hot cake on other agencies, but apart from some established regular sellers that made it on the first page of search results for some relevant keywords, it's not not selling noticable more or less than older content. So for me Adobe is really an exception.
