Hi Everyone,

I wanted to give you a heads up that after tomorrow (Friday, July 24) I will be on a one month sabbatical and will be offline most, if not all of that time. Instead, I'll be soaking up some sun and shooting lots of stock! I'll be back the end of August and will check in here then.

Should anything come up that you need assistance with, please write to us via the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal or via email to [email protected]. Someone will get back to you asap.

Stay safe and be well!

Mat Hayward

Have fun and sun

Very nice presentation, Mat. Did you create it in Adobe software?

Nice to see you and Lea somehow managed to get in a bit of R&R while you were busy "working" on those new additions to your portfolio.

Give a tough job to a tough man, I always say, and clearly, this was one helluva tough job. Thanks for proving my point. :D

You can see some of the shots I snapped the first couple weeks I was gone here if interested: https://spark.adobe.com/page/GMbOYsGZ5vpQH/

Wonderful images, and great travel, I'm so envious :-D

Thanks Martha, yes...nothing but work on that trip...grueling.

I used Adobe Spark for the presentation. If you have a Creative Cloud subscription, it's included and does all sorts of fun stuff. Well worth checking out and giving it a try in my opinion.

I had to double check this was 2020, I didn't realise people were taking international holidays. us Aussies aren't allowed to do this. We can't even cross the border into neighbouring states!

Glad you had a great time and your wife is such a good sport!

Howdy Y'all!

I'm back in action full time and am working to get caught up on anything and everything I missed this past month. I hope you are all doing well. Let me know if there is anything urgent matters you need an assist on.

I spent my month off from Adobe Stock shooting stock...twisted right?

French Polynesia is one of the very few countries allowing international tourists right now. We got lucky as we had been planning the trip since long before the pandemic hit. It was to celebrate our 20 year anniversary though we had to postpone the trip once and gambled on the new dates before they announced the opening.

Their economy is very dependent on tourism and they had no reported cases of Covid-19 in months. Since they re-opened the country on July 15 however, they have more than 300 reported cases. They were very strict on protocols and tests were required before, and 4 days after entry. It sounds like those restrictions are tightening further now. It wasn't easy to make the trip but it was well worth the effort.

Thanks for checking out the pics!

Yeah, we all cried when we saw how grueling it was for you. Sad.

Thanks for that tip. I'm not familiar with Spark but will check it out.

Awesome photos! But now you're just discouraging contributors to submit their work, there's no way they can beat these views. ;)

And just out of curiosity, Mat, any idea what the ratio of "pictures taken to pictures displayed" was? When I'm out cycling I usually come home with about 100 images taken. From there approximately 5 are submitted to agencies. It would also be interesting to learn what kind of gear you're using. Regardless, thanks for sharing!

I would estimate my average is between 5%-10% keepers on a consistent basis. I get a bit heavy handed with the shutter so there is a lot of culling involved. On this particular trip, I got a bit carried away and snapped an embarrassing number of photos.

My main body is a Canon 1DX Mark III. Traditionally, my go-to lens is the 24-70 but on this trip, that lens broke half way through so I pulled my old 16-35 out of the bag for the majority of the shots I took. I also use the 70-200 a fair amount along with the 100 macro.

Dear Mat, will it be possible for Adobe stock to consider accepting editorial images (with visible people) from contributors ? Around 80% of my port is editorial but I cannot upload anything here. Any updates regarding this issue would be helpful.

Editorial for Adobe Stock would be great. Obviously you have your premiere editorial branch with Reuters content etc. However there is a huge market for editorial content within the standard micro stock platforms and subscriptions.

Many clients would not be able to license images at the higher prices involved with the premier platforms, but this is usually made up for in volume.  There is a huge market and opportunity for a company such as Adobe with already a huge subscriber base to license editorial images within the standard micro stock subscription models. The volume and need for such content within the standard regular micro stock model is enormous and always growing.

This would be a win win for Adobe and the content suppliers.
