Title: Poster frames and thumbnails Adobe stock footage
Post by: everest on May 26, 2018, 04:35
I am having problems with Adobe Stock with some clips where the automatic thumbnail Adobe creates is totally misleading. For example if I make a slide shot from white background to the subject the thumbnail is white......how is a buyer be interested in such a file?. Adobe is the only footage agency where it is impossible to change the thumbnail/poster frame. I try to do this with Stock submitter and Davinci resolve but even so many times Adobe Stock just picks up the first frame. It is really frustrating. Someone with a solution for this issue.Thank you

Change video accordingly.

many stock sites will make the thumbnail from the frame at 1 sec (30th frame). some might use the first frame, which is less accurate.

in theory, if a stock agency has a minimum 5 sec requirement for video length, it makes sense that the frame at 2.5 seconds would be a good frame for the thumbnail since it is the midpoint in the action. this would solve your problem.

perhaps you could contact adobe and ask them which frame they pick and suggest they use a different frame.

Thank you for your reply. Certainly to use the middle frame of the clip would be a great advance. Unfortunately this is not how Adobe grabs the stills. I contacted them and support directed me to an Adobe forum post where it was stated that this was still not possible. Well I hope they fix this as I think that ceratinly it would improve the search results visually. Having many images where the focal point is just off worsen the commercial appeal of the showed clips.
