We would like to share an update regarding small and medium sized videos on Fotolia. We increased the price for small videos from 12 credits to 30 credits, and for medium videos from 30 to 45 credits, which will result in higher royalties in parallel. Downloads for HD 720 and HD 1080 remain at 60 and 75 credits. The royalties you receive for Fotolia credit sales are determined by your rank; please see this for more info: https://us.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors/Royalties/Videos
Videos on Adobe Stock are offered at HD 1080 and 4k only and you will always earn 35% royalties for every purchase on Adobe Stock.

Great transparency, Mat, and we're sure happy to see the market moving "the other way" for once. :)

Hi Mat,
Regarding Videos. Can you post a link as to how many video sales one needs to achieve each rank?
I seem to remember seeing 200 sales to move up from the bottom rank for both stills and video - is that correct?
I had a video sale last week which was £52,50 (approx $70) to me (thanks - great sale) now does that count as just one sale? To achieve £52.50 with stills would need 280 sales at 25c.
Cheers

Pablito - I was wondering the exact same thing recently.
I have sold 224 footage clips on Fotolia and still have to sell another 776 to move to silver rank !
I cannot believe that a Full HD or 4k footage clip download is the same as a photo download! (In the ranking terms)
It is absurdly unfair to footage contributors.
It is similar on Shutterstock - 30% flat fee for clips and NO increase in royalties no matter how many you sell.

Woah, something positive for once. Thank you Fotolia.
Also, yet more evidence that those participating in the undercut race to the lowest video prices are way off track.
-
I expected the worst (lower prices), but this is certainly good news! I noticed video sales are occurring more and more on Fotolia/Adobe Stock, so looking forward to even more sales.

Thanks Mat,
keep going with the good work!
I didn't know that royalties for video increase with rank.
I thought it was for still images only

Well, it's only evidence if it results in the same amount, or a higher amount of sales at the same resolution levels. Just them putting the price up is evidence of nothing. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for higher pricing, but just because they've put the price up doesn't really provide firm evidence of anything either way.

At least there's one agency that thinks our work is worth something and bucked the idiotic race to the bottom !
Great news

Hearing good news once in a while is great! Really appreciate it!
