Title: Problem Uploading to Fotolia
Post by: mwp1969 on January 19, 2008, 01:01
I've tried uploading 3 files 2 files or all 5 with the web uploader and it seems to be hit and miss as to whether they make it to the blue arrow pending state ... Actually I'd have to say after about 7-8 upload attempts between today and yesterday, I only had two that worked.

Has anyone else encounterd this problem?

I've never encountered any problems uploading to FT.

I lost several photos a few weeks ago using FTP with Filezilla ; they were visible in the distant server, but didn't appear on my list of waiting pictures, then disappeared from Filezilla also. Meanwhile, some got throuhgh. I'd say I lost something between 10 and 30% of my uploading there (which is better than snapvillage where I lost 99%).

I've had problems using flash, FTP and the 5 files page... Fotolia uploading is often hit and miss, and invariably slower than other sites such as BS and DT. I've finally persisted and got a reasonably big batch online though.

Mark,

I had a problem with FT a while back, when uploading with Netscape (my default).  Then I tried in IE and got an error message in the upload page - something saying the image was smaller than the minimum size (indeed it was).  For some reason, that line didn't appear in NS.

I normally use the flash uploader, even in NS, without problems.

Regards,
Adelaide

What is "the flash uploader" and what system / software requirements do I need to use this as I've never seen or heard of it ...

Mark, I'm not sure how you can't see it. If you click "my files" and the "uploaded files" tab you end up with a list of your portfolio and the following option links...

Upload new file Upload new files with normal form.
Upload new file with Flash Upload new files using flash uploader
Upload new file by FTP Upload new files using FTP (recommended)
Create a folder to organize and share your files
See my portfolio online See my images as search results

Naz

Thanks. I never went lower in the list as I thought I needed some other software or something. I just got through using it today and it worked for five files. I am trying another batch now.

Thanks !

Two batches in a row uploaded with the "Flash Uploader." I won't go back to using the web form ... FTP will hopefully be an improvement when I get that going.

Thanks !

Yes, the Flash Uploader is the best way to get images on FT.

Sharply

I'm finding that out. I'm way behind on getting my portfolio online there due to the difficult uploading process.

I can't even log in on FTP anymore... password gets rejected even though it is the same as it has been for months now. I'm using the Flash uploader instead.

I never had problems uploading with ProStockMaster. You just give the program your passwords, then select the images to upload to different sites, press the button - and go to sleep. In the morning all is as it should be - e.g. all images at their respective destination. Highly recommended - it does some rudimentary keywording too and keeps track of uploaded images and earnings. I have no affiliation with the software - just like it, and it will (I hope) be further developed - I provided a lot of suggestions.

I tried Flash this week-end, as suggested here, and everything went smoothly... that is until I met Attila at the first corner.  ;D

I've had no problems since I've started using the flash uploader other than the fact my last batches of 25 in a row were all rejected ... I finally got 3 approved which weren't photos ... just real simple Valentine illustration creations :(

So much for using the Flash uploader to get things up there ... They've got some sorta beast reviewing there now as opposed to a few months ago.
