Title: Search for specific asset ID now available in Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.
Post by: MatHayward on September 23, 2019, 16:13
This is a feature that I've been getting requests for since day one.

I'm very pleased to inform you that you can now search for specific assets using the content ID number within the dashboard section of the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal. The "Search By Content ID" box is in the upper right corner of the main dashboard page.

Cheers!

Thank you, Mat, for moving this forward.

Is it going to be possible soon to search for something other than ID number, which one doesn't necessarily know? Maybe an important keyword?

Got me all excited there. By ID number? How do I know the ID number?  :) For example, I wasn't sure if I uploaded an image of Fall Colors that was older. So I was trying to search my portfolio for "Fall Colors" But I can't do that.

Found it: https://stock.adobe.com/search/images?creator_id=205931477

Finding on the contributor site by Keyword would be really useful.  ;)

Why does my Portfolio on the contributor site have one number and on the Stock Adobe site, I have two less assets?

I suppose I could go count them all and see which is correct? Honestly I don't much care, I just wonder why two different numbers.  ;D

Yeah, work in progress. The only positive I can say is, unlike some other places, which have activated untested or flawed, crashing new improved versions, it seems Adobe is will to take the time, to try to get it right. We aren't unpaid beta testers trying to adapt to some new broken feature.

Great, but I just don't see the utility of searching by ID. I do not understand where is the difficulty in which we can search by keywords, it is simply coding a query to the database, the basic of mysql!

I don't know their coding, the site or their database, but I do agree. Search by keywords is what we need, not some assigned ID that's meaningless to our individual images.

Thanks for the feedback. Your best course of action if you need to find a specific image number will be to search in your public facing profile using keywords. You can then copy and paste the image number in the portal to bring up the file.

Mat, I've done this by Googling my own images, specifically searching for keywords and requesting a search on Adobe Stock, and do usually find them.  It works, but honestly… seems like an awfully silly work-around to have to do in dealing with a high-tech company.

You don't need to use Google. You can search with keywords within your portfolio in the Adobe Stock site.

Today I noticed some changes on upload page. "Include in submission" tab. Ok. But I don't find anymore preview (play) option for my footages.

I would like to check (play) again my uploaded footage before I send to footage to review process.

Thanks Adobe Team!

Best regards

Now if they would let us search for content by keyword?  (https://i.postimg.cc/BbfL8CWQ/stirpot.gif)

Any sign of that for the future?

A keyword search in there would be much more useful in my opinion.

When trying to add files to collections, I have to go through all my files on there and add them in, I probably miss quite a few doing it that way. A keyword search would make it far easier.

Or am I missing an obvious way of adding to collections?

I hear you. It's on the list..the list is long and the priorities do shift. I don't expect this to happen any time soon but I do realize it's a top request.

Thanks for the feedback,

Mat

Yeah, what an exciting new: another almost useless feature…
Adobe, do you really thing that everybody knows the ID numbers of the own assets????
(How this people can live so far from reality?)

It's not that complicated for people who use their brain.

Just search inside your own portfolio by keyword for the image(s) you want and the image number is right at the bottom of the image. Sure, it would be easier to be able to search by keyword, but claiming that Adobe is expecting us to know each image ID like there isn't a simple way to know it is simply childish.

As a suggestion, when we search an image in the Dashboard (using the super-secret voodoo technique above) I would like to have the total amount earned, besides the number of downloads.

In fact, that's exactly what I'm doing... :o  (Don't think you're the only one with two and a half neurons...…  :P)
But when a company like Adobe, which claims to be at the cutting edge of technology, offers me such a solution, I don't know if it's better to laugh or cry in front of the ridiculousness of such a solution...
