I've been waiting for a payout from Fotolia for over two weeks.  Hasn't happened in over a year that they've been this late.  Did I fall through the cracks?  Have others been paid since the first?

Maybe I'm just paranoid.  Perhaps this is a one of situation.  My overdue payout would go a long way toward resolving my paranoia...

you're paranoid.

2-3 weeks is a normal time for FT payout. sometimes it can be 3-4 days, sometimes 4 weeks, but 2-3 weeks is average since ages ago.

You're kidding, right?  You consider 2-3 weeks normal?  You've actually had payments take 4 weeks at FT - EVER???!!!  You must be the only one.  Normally they're pretty on the ball.

I've been a contributor as long as you have at FT and I have rarely ever had it take more than two weeks except one time when they actually did skip my payout.

Payout arrived a few minutes ago.  I expect in response to my Support ticket, but maybe just coincidence.

Lisa, we are quite happy with Fotolia. no reason to complain or suffer. not at all.

Good for you Lev.  Lots of people do have reasons to complain about them, though.

yep but once again Lev is showing how "much" contributors care about other contributors issues (most don't even read), needless to say I agree with everything you said in this topic Lisa :)

1. i believe Lisa is stating WE are having an issue, being paid much later then she does. i have no problem with this. seems like you do.

2. i see you are angry at me for some reason. that's what i would call an "issue". if you need me to care about it - here goes a piece of advice for you:

don't spend too much time being angry. you can miss a life.

cheers,

I was just surprised to hear you are typically waiting for payments much longer than other people I've spoken with.  For me it was very untypical to wait longer than two weeks.

Sounds like you are happy with your arrangement though, so who am I to say you shouldn't be?    :)

I'm in dolgachov's camp.  2-3 weeks seems pretty on par.  I got my payment this month on the 14th and requested on the 1st.

So two weeks then.   I wouldn't get concerned until it goes over two weeks.  I request payouts the first and 15th of every month and the payout is always there in time for me to make the next request.  The last time I had to wait over two weeks was more than a year ago.

Seems really odd that different people are waiting different lengths of time ???

I just re-looked at all the payout dates for this year from fotolia.  I had one 3 days wait, a few 8-10 day waits and a handful of 13-16 day waits.

It's always been my understanding that payments from FT are made via 'local' offices. It's probably a currency thing more than geographical location though.

I think my payments in GBP are handled by the UK office and I presume that payments in USD and EUR are made from their own respective offices. That could explain why Lisa, being paid in USD, might have a different experience to Dolgachov if he is being paid in EUR.

My own payments are generally made in 2-10 days (although I don't keep records) and it would be exceptional if it took more than 2 weeks. I think payments are made in batches with Tuesdays being a common payment day for me.

I usually cash out around the 18th for Fotolia and I usually get it after the 1st of the next month, so about 2 weeks or a little over is normal for me too. Maybe it depends on when one cashes out. It's been like that for me for quite a few months.

Thanks very much for that explanation.  Makes sense, and does explain the discrepancy.  I was truly baffled and you have unbaffled me :)

You're welcome although I'm not certain that my theory is correct!

It's a pity that FT don't have an equivalent of SS's Anthony who, as VP of Contributor Relations, can chip in at any time on MSG to provide accurate information in such matters. SS genuinely appears to value their contributors whereas FT just seems to hate us all. 'Quel contraste' the respective fortunes of each business.
