Hello all,

I was wondering if some of you experienced also a dramatic decrease in acceptance rate at FT this month. I am close to 100 % rejection on my last batch, although the same pics were accepted on SS,IS and DT...
I would been nice of FT to tell us beforehand if they changed their rules. Oupps, I forgot they are crap at communication  ;D
Seriously did you notice something different ?

Cheers

I noticed the same.
I never used to have much rejections at all at FT.
Now all of a sudden they reject 50 % or more of what I submit.
Pictures that pass all the  "picky sites".
I seems they can't anything to work after V2. First the keyword issue which they claim they have fixed for the most part  (and I don't belive) and now this.....
The hole FT is digging for themselves is getting deeper and deeper...
For my part sales from LO, Crestock and others smaller agencys will soon place themselves over FT. That's not good when you put that in relation to the timeconsuming upload process there...

Yes, more rejections are being handed out!  The only problem I have with that is that some of the rejected files had more sales potential and quality than some of the files that where accepted  from my submissions.

Meaning that the rejected files are doing well at all the sites I submit too.  Fotolia is also my second best selling site, so I'm familiar with what has been selling at this site.

I'm seeing a slight increase in rejections. Unfortunately, you don't know why because of their generic reasons. I turned off emails for accept/reject since they still haven't fixed the bug that tells you that 'photo #var1 ' has been rejected and the reason is useless anyway.

Same as all sites, I don't spend much time worrying about rejects unless it's an image I feel strongly about. Just keep uploading and don't look back.

With just one upload this month, which was accepted, I can't help build a tendency.

I haven't noticed a remarkable change to be honest. I must have submitted 50 new files there only a few of them were rejected.
FT has always been among my top sellers along with IS and SS.
on thing though despite significant growth of my portfolio sales  remains at pretty much the same level

I think it is a good thing. Comparing to all other sites, FOTOLIA is easiest to get accepted images. So they should be a little more strict. I have seen images that are so bad, I wouldnt accept them, I would never accept them. So I look on that as a good thing, more quality images, less junk, means more sales for good images, dont you agree?

I am trying to make the best possible image, so only rejections I have is "simmilar image", and very rarely "type of photo", but all in all nothing different than in august, or july....

I agree with you on one point : FT should raise the bar for the pics but most of rejections I had were "for type of photograph" and these pics are selling on SS...
i think they have a new tough reviewer :)

Totally agree with you!  since they got a millions of photos I think they should even clean up some not so good photos that were accepted previously.in fact I remember them announcing such a clean up of the images with no sales.

Yeah, I think that are cleaning up regulary, on dailiy basis, every image that has not been sold for 18 month. That is also a good thing.

I'm far more aggressive than that - I clean my portfolios on IS, DT, and FT by removing images that haven't sold in 6 months. I'd do the same with SS, but they have no tools available for making it an easy chore.

Yes! I have noticed a little tightening up.

However, sales for me are going well.

My acceptance rate increased quite a bit at FT but that's probably due to quality improvements. Thanks to some tips from Sharply and Hatman I'm up to around 90% over the past month. They're also now my top in sales with IS and DT in a close 2nd.
