I missed this announcement until another poster mentioned it in the thread about Fotolia's whacky search engine.
http://www.stockphototalk.com/
I can't see anything anywhere on the Fotolia site about what subscription packages for resellers will mean for photographer commissions. I'm certainly fine if I get the same per credit commissions as before, but I can't see how that could be with (a) a subscription and (b) a middleman who wants to take a cut.
I know we've had previous moves that didn't get announced to contributors, but this really should have been discussed via a newsletter with those of us whose commissions (I assume) are affected. Won't they need a change in the TOS or the earnings charts?
Is there something on the Fotolia site about this that I missed?

Well here's the dillio as far as I understand it:
Partner API - resells FT photos directly = the same price.
Business API - "(c) ...You shall charge an amount for the End Product that exceeds the aggregate Fotolia Price for each Work contained therein." (everyone gets paid) The Business API is for derivative works = tshirts, mouse pad, etc.
Developer API - must be non-commercial (plugins, aps, etc)
The ONLY interesting part of this is the Reseller API and to be honest, they don't have ANYTHING about it in the Terms of Use - I'm not even sure it's ready to go yet. Until we know that, we won't know what's allowed & not allowed or how FT & its members get paid.
(On the Documentation Page, there's no line for Reseller API)

Moved discussion to the other thread on this for simplicity.
