I was at a book store last night (drinking coffee and reading Photography Magazines - a cheap date ;D)
I looked through about 7 magazines and got the idea for this poll. I'm curious to see who's paying the "big $" for ads (as many sites are promising they're spending on advertizing)
I know that print media is only one type (internet ads are another) and this is far from scientific but this might be interesting to see the results. You can vote for all you see and add to your vote if you see another (at least I hope I set that up correctly)

Of course their target is designers not photographers. But I have never personally seen one advertisement for a microstock agency.

There are a few magazines (such as Print and How) that are directed towards the designer that I have seen ads in. The magazines are very expensive. There were a lot of ads. Many ads were for sites such as Jupiter and other large stock sites that you can't join via the Internet. I remember seeing ads for SS and IS. I want to say that I saw a few others, but I don't remember which ones.

print is dead
No seriously don't have money to buy those glossy photography mags.
I have heard elsewhere that iStock reps used to lurk around design/photograph convention promoting the site.
I suspect most advertising is internet based as everything about the microstock sites is internet based
If you do a google search for istock you will see google adwords advert will appear for BigStock.
"micro stock" - DT + BigStock and sites i ahve never heard of.
I presume they may be banner adverts on design sites

Designers for sure but I'm guessing that they'd also attract potential comtributers (although this would be a very expensive way to reach us)

123rf don't advertise directly but their parent company, Inmagine advertise quite extensively I believe. I think they have a strong market presence here in Asia and certainly have an office in Singapore. If I am not wrong, Mimi from 123rf works out of Malaysia.
