It's wasn't just you, The engineering team quickly caught this issue and it has been corrected. The link should be active now and working properly.

Thank you!

I feel a bit of a luddite asking this, but I've been very comfortable using Photoshop CC2015 for so many years, I wonder if I need to update.  Can I leave the CC 2015 on my desktop and try the cloud version of Photoshop at the same time?
Thanks

Thanks, @MatHayward and I must say that Photoshop CC is SOOOO much better than the older versions. There is so much you can do now easily to images and well worth upgrading...even if paying.

I'm reluctant to confirm definitively the answer to this question since I am not on the Photoshop team or the Creative Cloud team. I am inclined to say that yes, it would be fine for you to do this but I recommend you reach out to customer service via Adobe.com first to confirm it for sure. That said, I was using CS2 for years and years and thought I had everything I needed. When I upgraded to the latest and greatest version of Photoshop I realized how much I was missing. With CC, you get the most up to date version available. Neural filters, sky replacement are just two huge (and super fun) tools you are missing out on right now. I am still using some of the same actions I created with CS2, but there are so many other features available to me, I couldn't imagine ever reverting back to a specific version.

I hate change. I payed for CS6 and love it as well, so I've never used my free app yet. Also afraid if I try it I won't be able to go back to CS6 if I find it to challenging to navigate (since upgrades generally mean things are in different locations - I feel like the blind person who needs everything in the same place to find it)...

Redeemed!

Thank you, Mat! Thank you, Adobe!

I must admit that I'm only using 3 apps out of the 43 (ooh, actually 4, if I include Adobe Acrobat for PDFs). But anyway, thank you so much again!  :)

Thanks for the quick response Mat.  I have never found it possible to "reach out to customer service via Adobe.com".  There is no way to contact a live person by phone or online.  All we get are archived previous answers from years ago.
I've avoided doing this for years now, so I think I'm going to give it a try.  Getting my NIK plugins and Actions transferred will be an ordeal I'm sure.  I won't run both at the same time, and I will look out for the checkbox about deleting older versions when I install.

FYI for anyone redeeming a code who has some time left on their existing plan. It does end up tacking 12 months on to the existing expiration date, but for a few nerve-wracking screens it looks as if it didn't work.

I checked my current expiration date (in May 2022) and then went to redeem my code for another 12 months. The redemption was successful but said my service would end on February 2, 2023. I opened up a new tab and went to my Adobe account page and it still showed May 2022. I only have one Adobe account, so there's no possibility to mistakenly redeem in the wrong account.

A few refreshes later (about 2-3 minutes I think) and the Adobe account page updated to show May 2023 as expected.

After all the warnings about making sure you do it correctly because you can't change anything, it would be great if the confirmation page when you redeem could show you - even if it asks you to wait while it updates your account - that you've completed the task as expected.

I love that Adobe give this reward out each year, but I've never been able to make use of it. I pay for the full suite of apps each month, as I use several, so a singe app for free doesn't help, and I always fall just short of the criteria for the all apps offer.

It's a shame that Adobe doesn't at least allow this to be redeemed as a discount against the full suite.

Thank you very much!

I was able to use mine straight away and the date changed from "plan ends feb 2nd 2023" to "plan ends feb 27" (which is the date my plan would have ended without code anyway).
Means I did not loose any time I had already paid for.

I didn’t redeem my 2020 code until a month ago. The blue bar had actually disappeared by that point and I had to reach out to Adobe support, but they were very quick about getting me a new link with no trouble.

In the past, support would get a new code for an expired one (I had done that with the very first one issued), but if you read the current help on this, they explicitly say they will not provide a new code for an expired one:

https://helpx.adobe.com/gr_en/stock/contributor/help/how-to-redeem-creative-cloud-bonus-code.html

In section 6: "This code will expire in 12 months if not redeemed. Replacement codes will not be provided for expired codes. "

...I haven't received a code, even though I've sold over 10,000 licenses in the past year...

Did you upload files last year? In addition to the sales rule, there's an "active contributor" rule:

https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/royalty-details.html

"An active contributor is an Adobe Stock contributor with at least two (2) submitted and approved qualifying assets in 2021."

Yeah, I have exactly 2 accepted images for the last year. It's like a coincidence, but that should be enough, right? ;)

I take it back.  I did have trouble getting CC and PS installed and running and this time there was a chat option.  Someone took over my computer for over an hour and got me all straightened away.  My actions got moved over.  I don't know how to move my Nik collection "filters" over to the new version.  May not be possible.  Otherwise, both versions are working.

I don't know how to move my Nik collection "filters" over to the new version.  May not be possible.

If you're on windows (don't know about Mac):

- there is a"plugins" folder in the photoshop folder (of your old photosshop version) on your system drive (something like C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2022\Plug-ins)
- in there is a subfolder "google" (-> that contains the NIK filters)
- simply copy that subfolder with all its contents in the plugins folder of your new photoshop installation

NIK filters should be there after your next start of PS.

In case anyone wonders?  https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/redemption-code-help.html

If you already have the same plan or product, and redeem with the same Adobe ID:

If your payment plan is Annual plan, paid monthly, Adobe stops charging your credit card after you redeem the code. After the redemption code subscription term expires, Adobe resumes charging your credit card.
If your payment plan is Annual plan, prepaid, the redemption code term is added to the end of the paid subscription term.

If you redeem a different plan with the same Adobe ID:

Your subscription runs parallel to your existing paid subscription. For example, consider a scenario where you have an existing subscription to the Creative Cloud Photography plan with 20 GB of storage. However, you have a redemption code for the Creative Cloud All Apps plan. In this case, if you redeem the redemption code, your subscription to Creative Cloud All Apps runs concurrently with the existing Creative Cloud Photography plan.

Thanks a lot, can I install on my desktop and laptop or only on one computer?

In general, only two systems and both must be run by only you and only one at a time.

I don't know how that would work for a couple or any similar living arrangement, but the idea is, you can't run a business and share the software. There are probably exceptions.

In the past when I had multiple computers, if I added a new laptop, for example, then I'd have to deactivate the license on the old laptop. As that works out, not creative cloud licenses for Elements, as I upgrade and buy a new version, the old one stays on the older two computers. One laptop, old desktop run version 7, newer laptop and another, have version 10, and the newest laptop and computer are on Elements 2020.

Anyway, CC is supposed to limit a license to two computer, only one running at a time. For more you can activate and deactivate systems, which does not mean you have to uninstall and re-install. Just deactivate.

I am not an Adobe expert, but from my own experience it works a little different than you described.

For reference, I do have the photography plan (Lightroom and Photoshop), don't know if it works the same for the other apps.

I have the software installed on three computers, two desktops (mine and my wife's) plus one laptop, (and I am sure more would be possible) and I can run it on any two in parallel.
If I want to run it on the third one, I first have to deactivate one of the other two (which you can easily do via your Adobe account on the Adobe website, so no need to have physical access to the machine you deactivate it on).

Correct I don't think I said you needed access? Say your computer suddenly starts to smoke and you remove the hard drive and throw the rest into the trash. You wouldn't have access to that one.

The facts I copied (and believed) are from the Adobe site and their forum "experts". But the bottom line is, only two systems can operate the software, and the others can't be active, at the same time. I didn't realize that two could be running at the same time. That's listed on the Adobe site as a limitation. Since there's only one of me, I never tested that.

Activate and deactivate as needed.

Now that I have PS v23 installed, I've got it doing the same work as CC2015.  I thought it might be better at selecting skies to not sharpen there, but I still need to use the magic wand as before.
Still, it works fine.
But ever since switching, AS refuses to accept my keywords in more than half my uploads.  I get sneaky made up keywords, so I have to look at each upload carefully.  Why?  How can I stop this?
I'm beginning to think the PS update is not worth it.

I should also mention that SS and Alamy read the keywords fine.  Also, the Title is also fine.
You'd think AS would be well versed in keyword intake from an Adobe product.

I've uploaded a number of files to Adobe Stock in the last few weeks, all edited and keyworded in Photoshop 23.1.1. I've had no trouble with my keywords being read by the upload process. I just checked the last dozen or so approved images and all the keywords shown are correct - the ones I entered.

You'll need to see what else might be wrong, but it's not a general problem with keywords in the latest Photoshop. I should note I keyword in English and possibly there is a problem with accented characters or something else related to non-English words?

Thanks Jo Ann.  No I don't have any special characters.  And some images make it through OK, while others fail even after trying to upload again.  Strange.

I had the same experience when I redeemed mine and was relieved when it refreshed since mine was due to end in April.

I feel a bit of a luddite asking this, but I've been very comfortable using Photoshop CC2015 for so many years, I wonder if I need to update.  Can I leave the CC 2015 on my desktop and try the cloud version of Photoshop at the same time?
Thanks

I have been able to get through to Adobe when I've had issues, so I'd try to reach them by phone and ask. It's definitely worth upgrading IMHO.

FWIW, from my experience, when you update I think it will removes earlier versions unless you tell it not to but it's tricky - so back it up beforehand if you are uncertain. In had PSv6 but in looking at my Applications folder, it isn't there anymore and I'm not sure if that is by choice or not but I have folders labeled Photoshop 2019, 2020, the only things in them are presets, however, in addition to LR CC & LR Classic CC, I still have LR v5, so if you do it correctly you shouldn't lose the older version of PS & LR - I also think when you go to your Adobe Account, you can see the older versions that you bought there BUT I don't think they are supported anymore, so you might lose the updates if you rely on that. Best to backup and/or call Adobe Support for help.

In terms of whether it's worth upgrading: Honestly, I'd happily pay for CC if I didn't get it for free the past few years, even the earlier versions are so much better than PS6/LR5 - you can do things in LR Classic with adjustment brushes that you couldn't even do in PS RAW before - I only go into PS when I need more complicated cloning and other things that require layers. It makes your workflow much faster. And the sky replacement and neural filters and better masking etc. in the newer PS versions are really excellent. It's all pretty intuitive if you've been a longtime PS/LR user and Adobe has a ton of tutorials on their site.

Lots of creative options - the style neural filters are fun - though I'm mostly using them for fine art - but LR Classic speeds up all kinds of processing from stock to fine art.

 Good luck!

Qualified for, is not the same as having canceled previous subscriptions and redeemed the new code. If you have active Creative Cloud subscriptions that are not exactly the same as the bonus subscription you earned, then your existing active subscriptions will run in tandem with the new one. You need to cancel the existing subscriptions and activate the All Apps code if what you are already running is not the All Apps subscriptions.

...I haven't received a code, even though I've sold over 10,000 licenses in the past year...

I wondered why I haven't received a code and have found that I didn't upload at all last year! I didn't realise, I would have made sure to upload  :'( :'(
I will start uploading for this year!!

Ive got at least 8 months left on mine but it'd be useful to know at some point to decide if i need to migrate software to alternatives or not (or at least evaluate alternatives).

Will the subscription renew automatically, or will I have to do something closer to February?

No, Adobe is not giving out free subscriptions anymore. The blue banner is from last year, it never went away.
It has been so long that I don't remember it for sure, but I think I had to enter my billing informatione when I redeemed a free code for the first time. If you don't want the payed subscription, then you need to cancel it, otherwise your free subscription will be renewed into a paid one.

It is obvious. In previous years they announced rules in beginning of year to motivate us to upload. They didn't do that in 2022. so there were no requirements to meet for getting free subscription.

To me it's common sense. It's called "Contributors Bonus Program" and not "free softwear" for a reason. The bonus program for 2020 was announced in 2020 - It was not just Adobe giving you a free softwear because of sheer kindness, but it was tied to conditions like" Upload X images in 2020, have an apporval rate of X in 2020 or  have X sales." It's the carrot on the stick. "Do this and that for us and we will reward you with something". The bonus program for 2021 was announced in 2021, again, tied to conditions. But in 2022 no Contributor bonus program was announced. 2022 is now over. How can Adobe announce a "Contributors Bonus Program 2022" when 2022 is already over?  The year is over, it makes no sense to announce a program like that in retroperspective, because you cannot motivate contributors to upload more images or just their best images to keep the acceptance rate high for 2022 in retroperspective. What kind of "program" woult that be? It would just be a free softwear, no "program" connected to it.

Yes, I saw Matt saying that he has no official information on that, but at this point saying "Because Adobe has not officially stated that there will not be a programm, I still believe there might be one" makes about as much sense as saying "Scientists have not announced that the moon will not crash on earth in 2022, so I believe that this might still happen". Why would they even make an announcement stating that they will not give us free codes? That makes no sense? If you decide to take away a benefit to the contributors, one that was not promised anywhere or stated in their ToS anywhere, you will not go around and brag about it, you will simply silently not do it. It's not something positive, so why announce bad news if you do not have to do it?
No Contributor bonus program 2022 announced in 2022 -> no free codes is just a conclusion based on common sense. I don't even understand how some people still believe there will be a bonus program for the past year when the year is already over. There might be a bonus program for 2023, but these would be codes handed out in 2024.

Ah ok I understand now, it's from last year and Adobe is not intending to renew for the contributors, so sad ... Ok back to other platform.

I guess I'm one of the few who don't care either way considering I don't have a machine that can run any of Adobe's CS software bloat. I have an old trusty Lightroom 5 that still works and does pretty much everything I want a software to do for my stock work.

No, they are not. The very first posting explicitly states that the codes for 2021 have been sent out. They were sent out in 2022, but for 2021.

After that, no further information has been given out about whether there will be a bonus program for 2022 (or 2023), except the statement that there is no information yet. And as has been discussed in this thread, it is highly unlikely that there will be a program for 2022. There might be one for 2023, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You received a code based on 2021 data/results that is used during 2022/23 (depending when activated) but no new details were released in 2022 about a new scheme based on data/results for that year, which would result in a code to use during 2023/24.

But requirements for 2021. were made in beginning of 2021. Requirements for 2022. were never made and 2022. has ended, so you know, it is not possible for AS to set rules for 2022. anymore and it is not possible for us to meet these rules because they don't exist.

Yes, AS people could theoretically be kind and give us codes because they like us  ;D (and not because they want us to upload, sell, earn money), but I don't think it is very likely.

of course it's still possible - all AS has to do is describe how they're going to select who gets the bonus. absolutely no reason they had to do it on 1/1/22

still waiting for any doom-prophets to make a $ bet on their 'knowledge'

you have no idea what you're talking about!  - MANY of us rec'd bonus codes for 2022. the discussion has mostly been about whether there will be bonuses for 2023 and Mat has repeatedly said no decision has been made (YET ) we're barely into the new year

No, we received bonus codes in 2022 for the 2021 bonus program...  ::)

Bonus program 2021: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/royalty-details.html
"For our active Contributors, based on the number of downloads your photos, illustrations, vectors, and videos receive during the 2021 calendar year, you can earn complimentary access to one of the following plans for one year"
"bonuses will be determined in January 2022, and codes will be issued in February 2022[/b]. "

This page has never been updated to any 2022 bonus program information.

we're talking past each  other w?o using the same terms - of course the bonus was based on 2021 sales! - how could it be elsewise? but the actual bonus was applied in 2022

the key is that the info was sent in January - not Jan FIRST, so the conclusion that there will be no bonus is premature at best

No, the "info was" not "sent in January".
The bonus program 2021, for which we got codes in early 2022, was announced March/April 2021. You are confusing your years.

Yeah, that's right. When we received the codes in 2022 it was based on criteria set out in the previous year. Adobe may still provide a free software this year based on XYZ but if they do, it isn't following the pattern of previous years.

I’d put $20 down that it’s not coming back for this year, but what do I get if I “win”?

What do I get if I cover that bet, and you lose?  ;D

But I'll make a bet that's more fun. $100,000,000 - that's one hundred million Zimbabwe dollars, that the reward will be back this year? Against you mail me a $1 casino chip from anywhere? (chances are and I'm leaning towards you will win, but I'm not as confident as some others that we won't get anything?)

I would put my money on pigsinspace. Time is well overdue and looking at the non-responsive posts of Mat I would be highly surprised if Adobe would come up with something. Like someone else sort of said here, bring positive news shouting but shut up when there is bad news to bring. The silence of Adobe and Mat (who is being paid to convey Adobe's corporate message) kind of tells you what the outcome will be, right?

I'm starting to think the same, which is such a disappointment. I haven't been able to use the codes in the past, as they've been one app codes, and I use several from the whole suite. This time I would qualify for the whole suite based on the previous year's criteria, (5000+ downloads), so it would be just my luck that it gets scraped just in time for me to miss out again.

Really? I wonder how I swung it? I remember speaking to Adobe at one point but don't remember what it was about. I just looked back over my billing history and I was paying for individual apps (adding up to about £30) and then switched to the all apps 100GB plan. I was on the £30/ month all apps from then on.

I could have been better off not activating my codes! I'll eventually end up paying more than if they'd never given me the freebie (and I'd stuck to my special rate)  :o

Reimar, I think we will have to accept that there will be no more free subscription.

That was a really nice extra that we have no right to if Adobe decides to do it that way.

But it's a shame they don't make an official statement about it, that would at least have been respectful and honest and would have spared us such (unworthy) discussions here. No big crap lying explanations, just we don't do it anymore would have been enough for me.

Because of the free usage, I put my other photo editing programs aside and put a lot of work and energy into Photoshop. The program is very good and I don't know what other program I could use to edit my photos in the way I'm used to. So I bit the bullet and pay for it from next month.

However, it is very disappointing that the suspension of the program takes place at a time when every cent counts for stock contributors.

In the end, the bland aftertaste remains that the agencies are not our partners - even Adobe.

60 days before the bet between cascoly and pigsinspace ends.

So far, no news but bad news in peoples mailboxes from Adobe.

Is it safe to assume there won't be a 2022 equivalent as its already near November and no announcement?

I have no news to share at this time. I would not make any assumptions in either direction. You have my promise that as soon as I can provide an update, I will.

Thank you,

@MatHayward,
Adobe still doesn't know what they will be doing with these bonuses? Or are they just going to let it die without any further communication except the emails to individual contributors that they have to get the paid subscription?

Just to be more clear.

After this first positive announcement:

Hi Everyone,

I'm pleased to inform you that the 2021 bonus codes have been applied to all accounts of contributors who qualified. Visit the Adobe Stock Contributor portal. If you qualified, you should see the banner with the unique URL that will take you to redeem your code.

Congratulations to everyone who qualified! We are so grateful to you for your contribution at Adobe Stock. Without you, there is no us.

Stay creative!

Mat Hayward

I would like to hear something like:

Hi Everyone,

I'm saddened to inform you that the 2022 bonus codes have not been applied to all accounts of contributors who would have qualified. Considering the economical environment and challenges within the microstock photography we are not able to prolong this program.

Condolences to everyone who would had qualified. We are so grateful to you for your contribution at Adobe Stock. Without you, there is no us. We need all profit to stay with us and not give away freebies to you contributors.

Stay creative!

Mat Hayward

Im sort of lucky that due to timings my bonus packages wont expire until August.

Ultimately though i really can't see them coming at all this year now so preparations.

As others have said, the monthly fee for all apps is a lot.  A big chunk.  Is it worth it when i don't use most of the supplied apps?  Probably now.
Ultimately i tend to use LR/PS/Premiere and nothing else.

What i suspect im going to do is continue to pay for LR/PS as its "cheaper" at ~£10 a month but the extra then for Premiere is over £20 so i'll ditch it.
Most likely i'll buy Resolve Studio as a one-off fee.  Its arguably more powerful as an editor (effectively Premiere and AE in one) and once ive bought that im not paying monthly for it.

Ive got a few months yet to decide and see what Adobe do but currently it looks like thats the most cost effective thing for me to do.  After about a year of that Resolve and Premiere have equalled in cost and from that point forward, assuming no more Adobe codes, im winning.

It would indeed have been nice if Adobe had informed us about not prolonging the program or at least admit to it if asked directly.

However, as there never was a 2022 bonus program, there have been no contributors who qualified for it. The text you quote is about the 2021 program. So there is no need to apologies for not giving out bonus codes to people who qualified, as there are no such people.

Not to stalk(or maybe I am), Mat was active today so I guess he read the comments.

Adobe still has no decision on or conclusive answers to the bonus program?

The point of asking is that Adobe is always emphasizing that they stand with us and that without us there is no them but a simple question about this bonus program can somehow not be answered.

Why is that?

Come clean, do your redemption and all might be forgiven (or not) :)

I'm just bummed that I had discount codes that came with some backup drives I bought, but I didn't keep track of them. Hoping I can find them before my free subscription ends in April. With all I can do in Photoshop and Lightroom, I feel that the $11/month is certainly more than worthwhile, but I'm still bummed as I was taking the freebie for granted, especially as that blue bar stayed up in my account. But, I'll start paying for it again.

Honestly, given the cost of upgrading the programs back before the subscription, which I did every 3-4 years, it still works out to be less costly if not about the same with the subscription, but I have the newest bells and whistles instantly instead of having to wait until my budget would allow for the upgrade. I had all apps for a while which was too costly since, after learning Adobe Illustrator back around 2005, I didn't really use it enough and went in the direction of photography instead. I still can't justify the cost of all apps, though I'd love to relearn Illustrator and learn how to edit video footage.

I'm still grateful to Adobe for having this program during the worst of Covid (and before), as well as their great Discord community which helped keep me connected and sane (along with Zoom calls with my grandson) during the worst of the lockdown. They also gave me the equivalent of the All Apps for Mac in 2006 when I switched to Apple, replacing the software I'd purchased in 2005, for free, for which I was very grateful as a fledgling photographer, shooting assignments before I'd ever heard of stock.

But I'm also disappointed it's gone. It went a long way to building up goodwill for the company and encouraged me to stick with Adobe Stock, where I know my work is making them way more per year than the cost of the PS/LR subscription. Without it, I might not have bothered growing my collection there.

But they are in business to make money, and I'm sure the enticement was calculated to help them build up their fledgling collection, much as their free collection is helping them grow their customer, and they seem to now be beating the competition.

I subscribed in 2018 when nobody even dreamed of free codes.
It was great to get the programmes for free for 2 or 3 years (was it two or three years??) and now it´s simply back to normal.

Adobe started the stock business (and bought Fotolia  :-\ ) and was in need of stock. So you were rewarded when supplying stock. Now they have enough stock material and won´t continue the program.

This is all understandable. I don´t undesrtand why some people get so angry about it.....
