Hi Everyone,
Each year for Adobe MAX (https://max.adobe.com/) the Adobe Stock Development team works to release new features. This year I am pleased to inform you that Adobe Stock Contributors will benefit from two of these features.
Feature One: Starting right now, all Adobe Stock Contributors have access to create their own customized web page using Adobe Portfolio. Historically, Adobe Portfolio has only been available to Creative Cloud members as part of their subscription. This is still true UNLESS you are an Adobe Stock Contributor!
The best part of this in my opinion is that the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal is now connected with Adobe Portfolio. What this means for you is that you can create custom Collections in the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal and feature them in your Adobe Portfolio page. You can customize Adobe Portfolio to fit your needs then share your Portfolio page or individual collections. The images have a clickable link for potential customers to click and buy directly through Adobe Stock! This is a fantastic way to showcase your work and drive sales to your contributor account.
I spent some time playing with this feature and I have to say that I’m personally very excited about it. I was able to change the order the images are displayed in each collection and update the cover image to what I want. By default, the cover image has the Adobe Stock watermark on it. My personal preference was to have that removed so I customized the gallery and updated the cover with a non-watermarked version. You can see one gallery with and one gallery without to see what I mean in my Adobe Portfolio page linked here: https://haywardphoto.myportfolio.com/ The gallery titled “Africa” with the elephant image and the gallery titled “Favorite Stock Shots” with Hamilton the Frenchie are both Adobe Stock galleries.
Feature Two: Contributor of the week. We are now showcasing the top photo, vector and illustration contributors each week. This is a great way to see in real time what is actually trending in the market. I strongly recommend you check this out every week for motivation and inspiration.
Contributors will be featured automatically no more than once every 5 weeks. The featured contributors are selected automatically based on sales of content submitted in the past 6 months. The top ten contributors measured by the upload/sales ratio are featured.
I hope you enjoy these new features!

It looks amazing Mat, thanks for that update

So, If I have understood well, you can also put photos that are not in your Adobe portfolio and not destined to be sold?

Great new features Mat!

Yes, that is correct. Adobe Portfolio is a fully customizable app that includes hosting for your content. Only 2 of my 6 existing galleries are Adobe Stock galleries. There are many great templates in place you can use which can then be modified to suit your needs. I was seriously impressed with the overall functionality. There are some good tutorials online to get the most out of it. My personal page is a work in progress. I predict I will replace my existing site www.mathaywardphoto.com (http://www.mathaywardphoto.com) with my Portfolio site especially since I can link my custom URL to the page.

Looks that way, I just added some from my external drive.

Can you do it with video from Adobe? need some tutorials

As far as I know you need to embed video from an external site such as YouTube. I found this blog posted created by Julieanne Kost from 2016 about how to do it. http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2016/03/adobe-portfolio-day-7-of-the-10-day-challenge.html (http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2016/03/adobe-portfolio-day-7-of-the-10-day-challenge.html)
I will look into whether there is updated information on this.

Thanks Mat, I love Adobe.
A small question:
In contributor of the week, I see there are some portfolio with 100+ downloads featured too. So on what criteria are these selected?
-
Oh well, great addition for photographers. Doesn't work for videographers on Adobe Stock.
If they can add functionality to sharing video collections I'm in.
But I'm adding links to my vintage series on a website I created for that purpose already.
www.oldtimefootage.com (http://www.oldtimefootage.com)
Does Adobe have an API that I can embed my portfolio on my website?
Thanks,
Jake

Here is the information for how the contributors are selected.
The goal of this feature, apart from celebrating our talented contributors, is to inform you of what type of content is trending based purely on sales data.
Contributors of the week are determined each week using the following process:
For each asset type we generate a list of 400 contributors who made the most sales in the previous week, only considering their uploads from the past six months. Then, we order the list based on each contributor’s uploads/sales ratio, and the top 10 contributors on this list are featured as “Contributors of the week”.
Contributors are eligible to be featured at most once every five weeks. This selection process is subject to change in the future.

Not that I am aware of. Portfolio is integrated with Lightroom, Behance and of course Adobe Stock. I'm not an expert on Adobe Portfolio so if you do find a way to embed your existing portfolio, please let us know.

What if someone doesn't want to be featured? I'm guessing there will be a lot of copycats based on selected contributors.

This sounds great, but how do I get my non-stock photos into an Adobe Gallery? (Sorry if this is a lame question.)

If you aren't a Creative Cloud member you will need to add at least one collection with one image to Adobe Portfolio to activate the access.
Once you have your account set up there are quite a few tutorials available. I recommend the Terry White video. Here is a basic rundown of how to navigate Adobe Portfolio: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/how-to/create-portfolio-website.html (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/how-to/create-portfolio-website.html)

The featured contributors are selected automatically, there isn't an option to not be featured if qualified and selected. In my opinion there is a diverse enough range of content between 10 contributors per week, changing every week that it won't spark the copycat craze. The feature should serve as motivation and inspiration but not as a guide for exactly what type of content to shoot.

Sounds great but am I missing something? how do I select images from my Adobe online images to add to a portfolio page? When I click to start, it just shows the first of 183 pages, sorted by date - how can I gather images for India, trees, etc, etc without having to page thru thousands of images?
-
On some reson I dont want my real name on ___________myportfolio.com page
"https://XY.myportfolio.com"
How can I solve this problem?
Whay we can not use our "nick" contributor name?

You can use a custom URL. Click the settings tab where you will see the option to either purchase a domain name or use one you already own.

Hey Mat,
Would it be possible to add a search bar in the dashboard, so we can filter our photos by keyword and add them more easily to collections, instead of going one by one, on hundreds of pages?
Cheers!

Hey Mat, I'm trying to publish a video collection from Adobe Stock to Adobe Portfolio and getting this error message:
"An error occured while trying to send your collection to Adobe Portfolio."
It's working fine for image collections. Can we not sync video collections? Thx
-
What I would like to hear as a new features on AdobeStock, is last sold image showing on the dashboard instead of the portfolio. I know my portfolio, I don't need it on my dashboard. What I want to know is wich one I have sold at first look. Not by clicking 3-4 tab. Why do agency don'T ask what contributor need ?

It's interesting to see the top contributors images, but it could be more useful to have images ordered from best sellers.
Maybe I miss something, but if I look into any portfolio I cannot see a way to order images, is that right?
BUT: if the contributor has built collection(s), I can order images inside the collection. Not along entire portfolio.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thanks

I thought this was a new thread where they were saying they finally put the keyboard search within portfolio
GUESS THAT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN

Or... putting an end to the dashboard/statistics page constantly resetting itself and forgetting what you just entered 5 minutes earlier >:( Does my head in that... just get the lads from FT to sort it out ;D

Cool news on the new features. A lot of potential there - especially the portfolio webpage.
Out of curiosity, are there any plans to allow contributors the ability to choose our own thumbnail images for our videos?

Hey Matt, wondering if you can give some input on a bug/weird design choice (hopefully bug...)
On anyones public profile page, if they have collections at the top (as I do), theses collections are completely blank to look at until you hover a mouse over them. No picture, no collection name, nothing.
Tried Safari and Chrome, tried multiple people's portfolios. All the same.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Yes, I've had that problem too, for a good while now. Thought maybe it was just me.
Would love to see it fixed!

Thanks for the post. We are aware of this and it has been reported to our engineering team. I'm hoping it will be resolved soon but I don't have insight into where it stands in the list of priorities right now.

The engineering team need to work a bit faster. They need to add a search to the portfolio and it shouldn't take them this long.
If they move any slower, they need to have their salary reduced.

Hey Mat, thanks for getting back to me.
I gotta agree with the other comments though, this kind of thing should be fixed ASAP rather than having poor quality portfolio pages on display that damages the brand.
Hope they can get it fixed soon, as well as fully implement other features we as contributors could benefit from.
