Title: Universal Model Releases not longer accepted?

It seems to me that Fotolia/Adobe Stock does not accept Universal MR anymore! How are your experiences?

The release I uploaded on May 23rd was accepted.  Same one I've been using for years.

I know my last reject was  something like "must be legible".  Only thing that can't be read is her signature.  Automatically disqualifies - what - 95% of model releases?

And everything I've written since 1976.  ;D Legible for script or hand written or printed is subjective.

Legible for size, scan or resolution with too many dots, might be different. 300 dpi should do it?

We still accept outside releases as long as all the necessary information is covered. 3 things that are required in addition to the legal language are the (legibly) printed name and signature of the model, the photographer and a witness.

The photographer name must match the name on your account (not an agency name for example). If the model is a minor then the printed name of the model is required in addition to the printed name and signature of the a parent or guardian.

The date of the witness signature must match the date of the model signature (they need to actually witness the signing).

Those are the most common issues I've seen with releases. If you still can't figure out what the problem is, send me an email and I'll be happy to take a look.

Thank you Mat. First I will check the rejected releases and if I can't find one of the reasons you describe here, I will send you an email.

It does happen, I have had a single photo rejected for a model release where that same release was accepted for another photo in the same batch... just upload and add the release with a modified name and submit again.  It was accepted the second time.  Mistakes with reviewers is just part of the game.

No problem with Adobe or the other agencies - just SS who tell me now they only accept the docusign versions.
