Title: Update your 2014 tax form
Post by: MatHayward on December 20, 2017, 11:51
Hi All,

Just a friendly reminder to update your tax form at Adobe Stock if your current form was created during or before 2014. Those forms will expire on January 1 which means all of your sales will be subject to maximum withholding.

You can update your tax form by clicking the Contributor Account link in the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Happy Holidays!

Mat Hayward

Hi Mat

I just checked mine on the Adobe site (a W-9) and the page says it is validated and has no expiration date. So does your advice to create a new one not apply in those circumstances?

Hi Mat,

Adobe/Fotolia does not sand 1042-s tax forms - will it be possible in future - because I can not get back (without this 1042s form) my withholding (30%) money - to be returned by usa tax  authorities...

Generally the tax forms are valid for 3 years. If yours was created in 2014 or earlier, my advice is to update the form.

It might just mean that there is an issue with your browser. Shoot me an email with your Adobe ID and I'll take a look. Email [email protected]

Thanks Matt. I got it to work. The links on the left do not work but I realized there was a tax section on the main body when I scrolled down which worked.

Mat, thanks very much for a reminder - very helpful.

It'd be great if you could suggest to the IT folks that the system send out email reminders as needed to contributors prior to tax forms expiring - not everyone hangs out here.

How do I know when my tax form was created? It says no expiration date and I have no idea whether this is old from FT days or newer.

If you go to the Tax Center, there's a link on the right labeled See my tax forms.  The forms are listed by creation and validation dates, which are the same for my forms.

Ah - that's on Fotolia and I was looking at Adobe Stock. Thanks. I can see I'm all set for a couple more years :)

Yes, I would like to see an automatic reminder go out as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Mat, the form I'm seeing on the Fotolia site is from 2014.  Shouldn't that be updated as well?

Yes, it is the same form for both Fotolia and Adobe Stock.

It seems crazy that we don't get a reminder by email, I'm sure some people will get caught out by this.

In December I requested payout after a couple of years so it was a decent amount.  According to their site, my tax forms, submitted and verified in 2009, are still good.  I received the whole amount into Paypal with no withholding.  So apparently they don't expire, at least not on the old Fotolia site - I've been too lazy to merge it with Adobe so don't know what happens there.

The main problem I have is that apparently when I signed up I somehow got scheduled to receive my payments in British pounds and now it is impossible to change.  This happened even tough I signed up on the US site and live in the US - no idea how.  I would think changing the payout currency is an easy programming fix - very annoying, as I don't want to lose money changing them back into dollars - but apparently not.  I guess if I ever decide to take a vacation in Britain I can maybe finally use that money, but unfortunately no plans to go there again until maybe next year.  If they could fix the currency thing though that would be nice.

Theres something very wrong here. I have updated mine three times now, got validated twice and they still keep asking me to update!, haha!  seems a bit of a comedy this.
