Title: Uppsss, I am in Fotolia CRAZY REJECTIONS club too :)
Post by: enstoker on December 14, 2012, 05:03
Yeahh, dear friends, You have a new member in FT crazy "rejectionsreasons" club.

25 outdoor photos ( people, action...) taken with Canon 5d MII, Canon 70-200 2.8, strobe with soft box..
Reason: unsharp,  bla bla bla...

Not to mention that this photos SS accepted 100 %.
Other agencies as well.

So, when are we going on juice or beer to celebrate new member?

beer! and some self mutilation.
But only a small and short dose of  the later.

Rejections are not important. Let the agencies have fun. Thats their place in time and space.

I get the aestetics as well.

Thats ok, we cannot all be aestetical.
But I can be feathered and rough at the same time.

See the "show us examples or we do not believe you"-club has not arrived yet...  ;)

Found it is better for my health with SS focus and Fotolia rejections, to just say "oh well, you therefore will not be selling those" and move on.  8)

I must be aesthetically brilliant (never get those) but technically sucks.

LOL

I don't think showing us examples applies when it comes to FT.

Their acceptance criteria has never made ANY sense to me at all.  I've never been able to find that crucial strand of logic to hang on to and work with at FT.

Of course it's made even worse by the fact that you can never have any kind of conversation with support there to clarify anything.  It's like a brick wall.

we are operating in a crowssourcing and massproducing environment.
So the agencies will not bother to give personal explanations.
OK, then we adapt to that.
On the personal level that means that I have made photoshop actions that trim my pictures to the different agencies.
SS style, IS style, whatever.
Then I just press some buttons, get the images trimmed and mass suck spammed keywords into them. And upload.
I can mass produce as well as the agencies can.

Its all about spending as little time on each image as you can both for them, and for me.
And then again, to have some competitive edge, you need to spend time.
But then its more interesting to spend the time coming up with concepts and be creative instead of sitting and photoshop things for hours.
I get the aestetics when I upload ss style to fot. So basically fot is saying that ss style is not aestetical, thats funny enough.

probably they have understood how many unusable file they have in their library, and now instead of cleaning the crap they began refusing everything...yesterday i uploaded some file from christmas decoration in Nice france...all rejected for bullshiot technicdally bla bla...the best part is that if i search for nice france christmas thye have just 20 image, so those would be a nice addiction for serious reviewer.
