Anyone not based in the US noticed a large drop in US sales? Normally avg about 25-50% but for the last 4 days it's been around 5%.
-
On Fotolia I have regular sales (generally more on Monday and Tuesday)
But I have had 4 consecutive days without any sale on Shutterstock.
This never happened before. I never had more than on day without sales.

While this is not good, the question was about US sales at Fotolia. Have you noticed a drop in US sales at Fotolia at all?

My US sales are always very small: around 7%. Too small to be able to see a drop.
-
My US sales has been increasing for the last 4 months with peak this april (~25%) which was also my best month at Fotolia.

Same here.... just the last 4 days have dropped right off. When you look at the graph for the year it looks like it's flatlined this week. It didn't even do this over the Christmas holiday. I've sent a request to support to see if there is a reason to it. A bit concerning as it impacts on my earnings, which is not good when it's your day job!

No. (My first sentence says "On Fotolia I have regular sales")

No worries. I think I may have caught your reply mid edit. Mat will probably come along and confirm I'm just being paranoid :D and that it's just a temp dip in figures. Just never seen US sales drop to the levels they have for a long long time. It's as if a server had gone down or someone made a tweak to something somewhere.
-
So, you're panicking after not having US sales only for 4 days? And write support about it? LOL

Exactly ..... I know, I know ::) for some reason a wave of paranoia kicked in...... I think I need a couple of days off, some sleep and general R&R. Too many long days with out some time to chill out!
Edit. I should change the title to "Have you worked yourself so hard that it's driven you to complete paranoia" ;D

US sales always makes up 5-10% of my sales. I think the majority of most FT sales comes from Europe.

I think what looks strange is how I went from $xx.xx a day to basically $.xx a day. It's a sizeable drop, not just a few dollars. I'd normally make 4 times the amount I've made in the last 4 days in a single day (US inc).
-
If it makes you feel any better my sales have dropped off by 80% or so in the last 5 days. I think sometimes there is no particular reason. As hot as last week was this week is balancing things out to the downside. Way down on Fotolia this week.

I've noticed lower sales this week, but until you mentioned it, it hadn't occurred to me that it might be something to do with US sales. I hadn't realised that we can select US sales in the statistics menu, so I looked at that and agree with what you've noticed - a big drop in sales from the US this week. Sorting the statistics into weekly and looking from the beginning of this year, this week is only 25% or so of 'normal' - in other words US sales are down 75% compared to all previous weeks this year.
Like you I'm not in the US. I certainly hope Fotolia hasn't implemented one of these 'geographic location of photographers' things that's been tried by some other agencies, because that would be very detrimental to photographers not from the US. Let's hope this is just a temporary glitch and things will get back to normal next week.
-
Hmmm yes. I just checked my Fotolia U.S. sales for the last 5 days. Zeros for all 5 days. That's never happened before. It rarely happens for even one day. Something seems off.
-
My info is showing a -.58 on the 18th. They sent no notification of any customer refund on that date, so I wonder what's up with that. My sales are way down for the past few days too.
-
Perhaps it's just a temporary problem in the reporting of Adobe.com sales back to Fotolia.
-
Thanks guys, this is what I was thinking. I'm used to recording and monitoring data so when I see something like this then normally rings alarm bells. It's a sign that something has broken.
That said, last week was a good week, especially volumes which were around / over 100 a day so it could be a bit of balancing out. I thought it would've been applied to all sales and not just to US sales, which went to more or less nothing. As you've mentioned, this never happened before. Even Christmas holidays it didn't happen over 4 days.
I was personally thinking it may have been a server issue somewhere (before and conspiracy theories materialise), which was why I contacted support, nothing yet from them. The way things stopped it looked like a fault somewhere. The good news is they seem to have come back on day 6. I've earned more in the first few hours today than all the other days when the potential problem was there with US sales. Fault fixed? or balancing out finished?!?! Who knows but I'll be keeping an eye on it anyway.

Another possibility. As mentioned above, hopefully it's passed now and we can get back to normal :)

wow u got reguler, how many product u have there?

US earnings for the last 6 days look rather abnormal, indeed. Not really zero $/day, but very close. I attached my weekly US revenue rate (% of the total).
~2% instead of the usual ~20% average.

Yeah, that sort of looks like what happened to me. It's improved so far today, about 15%. Below average but not the extreme of the previous days! Hopefully what ever the reason was has passed, been resolved!

Spoke too soon. Back to zero from the US again today!
-
I don't see an impact on the total sales and I definitely get more than 2% of sales during US office hours.
It must be a counter issue.
-
Sales for me are down sharply over the last week - a drop of about 40% compared to most other weeks in 2016. Most of the drop appears to be due to the lack of US sales. Things were going really well at Fotolia, and it's disappointing to experience such a large and sudden downwards shift in sales. Worrying that US sales have almost disappeared, which appears to be some sort of policy or search shift.
-
After dragging along for a couple of weeks, over the past few days I've experienced a large increase in sales and, according to the statistics graph, this corresponds to a significant spike in US sales. Maybe the problem has been fixed ???

No, the problem is still there.

I've just looked at my graphs and they look perfectly normal. I'm based in Europe.

Yeah, that's how mine looked. I know from speaking to others (don't post here) that there is a problem. Your graph (and others) goes someway to confirm this.

There is definitely something strange going on. My US sales started declining on the 17th.
US sales makes up a small percentage of my overall sales, so it hasn't affected me much.
The strange thing is that I've been able to climb the weekly ranks by quite a bit, despite having a decline of about 10% in downloads compared to last week. This leads me to believe that other contributors are being affected more than I am.

Funny, the 17th was when I first started experiencing the problems. I think we are seeing a bit of a pattern forming. It would be nice if Matt could explain what maybe going on. My weekly rank has dipped but not by the same % of drop in income/US sales. As you say, it would suggest this is something happening others otherwise we would drop down the ranking like a stone.

Is dpc still active or did they close it down?
If they closed it and most us sales came from it, it would explain the drop.
Are you all opted into dpc?

Good catch. This must be it:

Yes. well spotted!!!
I don't know why the support team didn't pick up on this when I queried it last week. I guess it will take time for people using that scheme to set up on Adobe Stock or go elsewhere. I'm seeing an improvement this week. It may also explain why there was a sudden increase in sales just before it closed.
-
I heard it as a suggestion from someone else, not my idea ;)

The main thing is it seems to explain what was happening, which is the main thing! FT are generally very consistent, no sudden drops or massive increases so it was unusual to see one. It will probably take a little time for people to migrate over to a new service / contract.

U.S.
A slug of downloads this morning, but none show on the graph. Is there a delay between sales and when they show up on the stats graph? If so, any idea how long?

Yes, well spotted Jasmin - the closing of DPC must explain the sudden change. Good - I've been concerned that there had been some mega policy or search shift. Hopefully the DPC customers will make their way over to Adobe and things will return to normal.
My sales today jumped back up into their normal daily range, so that's a big relief.
The big surprise is how much in sales and income was being generated by DPC!
-
I saw huge sales after the Adobe takeover that continued through the end of last year. Now, they have fallen dramatically. My thoughts on why...
What I know they did was launch a major ad campaign that boosted the heck out of our sales but probably cost them a pretty penny and after the fourth quarter was probably discontinued. Now they will probably go a couple quarters and see how the advertising did. Of course we will suffer while they tabulate and figure out the next steps.
-
I posted on another thread but maybe this is why I've had no sales since April 20. I have a very small port but usually have downloads almost every day. I really hope things get back to normal.

Sales at Fotolia are very uneven, i tend to think it is also connected to the way they report it (maybe some of Adobe sales are reported in bulk? ::) ), so nothing to worry about, i guess. If you go to your sales statistics and look at weekly reports over the time you will probably see high spikes and deep drops from week to week ;)

Thanks Lana, I guess I shouldn't panic and just wait and see what happens. Maybe this is going to be a regular occurrence.
-
Yes, I have had not a single sale this month and yet I was getting sales all through Aril here and there. :-\
-
I also noticed a decline in credit sales on FT, it used to be about 20% of all my downloads, sometimes more, last couple of months it has gone down to about 1 credit sale per 10 downloads.
-

I haven't noticed any reduction in Credit Sales as such, had a good % this morning etc. What I would say is the volume of sales that weren't via credits but are valued between $1.65 & $3.3 have increased. Sales etc are still very good at FT, even after the DPC dip, which should only be short lived as buyers sort themselves out. So while there maybe a slight drop in Vol sales per day after the closure of DPC the larger sales are starting to make up for it.
Edit. Just to be clear, this thread originally related to the specific issue of US sales dropping to near zero. As we now know it seems that it was due to the DPC closing it's doors. Sales with FT as a whole continue to perform well overall (from my experience, ymmv).

Hello everybody,
Just registered to share my experiences:( Having the same issue. Hope it isnt some sort of market split based on your location. Even if it is, there is nothing we can do just hope it will get better eventually.
Have a great day everyone,

Have a great day everyone,
Despite Adobe's effort to reroute buyers to Adobe Stock, sales hasn't recovered completely. Based on my own stats, US sales have only recovered about 25% of what it used to be since the closure of DPC. The rest of the buyers seems to have gone elsewhere.
Luckily US sales make up only about 10% of my overall sales.
-
From all the sites where I have the available data... my US sales average for the last year was 44%. This month it's 35%, the lowest yet.
