Title: Vector Image Rejected Due to Technical Issues
Post by: Mir on December 12, 2024, 16:51
I have been a contributor to Adobe (Fotolia) since 2016, and during this time, only six of my images have been rejected.

Today, after waiting for over two months without any reviews, a batch of images was reviewed. Some were accepted, others were rejected due to "technical reasons."

Your file has one or more of these issues:

Your vector file contains a raster/bitmap image, and vector files must not contain raster elements.
Your JPEG preview file has been compressed too much, so textural problems have occurred in the file.
Your JPEG preview resolution must not be less than 5,000 X 3,000 (15 million pixels)
You didn't use anti-aliasing when exporting your vector file to JPEG, so there are problems with lines on the JPEG file.

I upload only EPS files, not JPEGs, and there are no raster elements in the files. Additionally, these images are part of a series, yet some were accepted while others were rejected. There are no technical issues.

What gives?

Are you using an alternative software to Illustrator?
If so, there's your problem right there. Not all vector softwares work the same. Some have issues processing colours and gradients and when you open them in Illustrator (the industry standard) it does not display correctly. Sometimes you have other problems too. So if you find a free version of Illustrator and test your images, you may end up seeing the issue yourself.

So, how does your jpg preview look?  Is it the right pixel size?  Are the the gradients smooth?

As I said I upload EPS files only. There are no gradients.
Other files with the same elements are accepted. The images are already selling on the other stock sites.

I think I’ve figured out what might be happening. I created halftone collage-style images, and I suppose that, depending on the reviewer, they think there is a photo in my file. It seems they don’t check the file info, where they could see that there are no raster images, and instead judge it based on appearance.
I have contacted support, but I’m not sure if they’ll respond. I’m quite frustrated because I had this niche idea and spent an entire month creating these images. They are, at least, selling on other sites.

So far, I have 12 accepted and 10 rejected. Considering that I only had 6 rejections over all these years, the last one being 6 years ago, this is extremely frustrating.

Funnily enough, some of my images were reviewed within an hour of being submitted.

It's possible that some of those have rasterized.  Look at the vector files with ghostgum and see if there is weirdness.
