I didn't receive a bonus code this year even though I had more than 8000 downloads and 300 uploads. I've been trying to find the official link that explains the criteria, but all I see is the vague statement that it's "based on criteria." Can someone share the link with the requirements? Thanks.

There isnt one.

The original website that went up on the 17th stated 5,700 downloads with video as x3.  That website was pulled on the 23rd, a new page went up and had no criteria at all.

People with under 1,000 downloads have codes.  As far as im aware nobody outside Adobe has a clue what the criteria were after the rapid policy change.

They'll run in parallel as they're different packages.  You'll need to cancel the photography plan.

Of course, cynically, most of us on the cheap photo plan means if we use this code for a year and dont get one next year, theres no option to go back onto the old cheap plan and our monthly costs will double for a product we dont really need after that.

*** Solved. On the 4th attempt, I found a competent agent who canceled my photo plan without penalty. ***

Yes, but if I cancel my photography plan, Adobe will charge me almost €90 because I'm abandoning an annual plan.

I've contacted customer service, but so far it's all useless. All the operators don't know anything.

Could you please advice how I can cancel the Photography Plan without a penalty?

You can only do this if you're a contributor and have received a code for one year of Creative Cloud Pro.

You need to contact an Adobe agent via chat (or phone) and be lucky to find the right person who understands your issue. Then they'll do the rest. They'll cancel your plan and you can activate the free year.

And what happens afterwards, should you miss the bonus next year? Would you get the "old" cheap Photography Plan back or would you have to pay for the standard Photography Plan?

Very interesting news from DaVinci Resolve!
The next version will feature a powerful PHOTO processing module, which seems to be a strong Lightroom competitor!

That's awesome...Resolves UI actually makes sense and I can glance at a node tree to get a basic understanding of what processing is being done. Adobe buries everything in layers/actions/adjustments, etc and its workflow hasn't changed much in 20 years...I hate it.

Its beta 1 of a basic photo editor.  Handy if you're a video editor that needs a few photos which will be its niche.

Again though, nothing like the useful AI masking, plugin support or vitally catalogue support most of us would need to even consider switching.  If you dont want catalogue, then PhotoLab or Capture 1 are still better alternatives.

This is a first test.  Will look again in 4-5 years to see whats changed.

FYI, Resolve already has AI masking, even for videos (e.g., select and edit only the sky in a clip).
From what I see, the capabilities (using the node structure) are beyond "basic".

Really nothing like a LR competitor.  It'll do for videographers who want to quickly edit a few photo to put into a video.
Its very basic, deals with one image at a time, lacks the masking and plugin features, lacks the content aware editing and vitally, no catalogue handling.

PhotoLab/Capture 1 are competitors to LR if you can live without catalogue (i cant) but Resolve isnt.  Nor is it intended to be or likely ever will be.

The only thing i wish LR would take from Resolve is the Vectorscope.

After the 2025 bonus code from Adobe expired, I continued my photography plan using my credit card.

After receiving the 2026 bonus code, I followed the instructions and switched to a one-year Pro plan. I thought my old plan would be automatically canceled, but it turns out I had to cancel it myself. Therefore, this month I was forced to use both the Adobe bonus membership and my old membership, paying for the service charged to my credit card. (I canceled it immediately upon realizing this.)

Please check your own plans. If you haven't canceled your old plan yet, like me, you are still paying for it.
