Well I need 5$ more, so it's just a matter of hours. And all that on my first anniversary:). Gotta luv SS!

Unfortunately IS is not following, but it's not as bad as some report, so I'm overall satisfied. I just hope those P+ files will make a difference in the future. I don't upload to other sites.

SS, is run like a proper business!  no airs and graces, no tricks and now everyone is reaping the benefits,  thats the differance.

I forget to mention that I uploaded only a handful of images this month, 7 I think, 4 of those yesterday:). That makes it even more impressive, since ppl are always saying you have to keep feeding the beast (I never really have) and that sales drop significantly if you stop uploading (which I almost did, I don't have anything to upload).

I have similar to report. I am not having BMEs, but in the last three months my sales have increased by about 25%. In that period, I have uploaded maybe 15 new photos. I have been with them since 2005.

SS is doing great just no BME consecutively for me.

As usual mileage may vary depending on portfolio size, type and period of contributing.

It's official, 3rd consecutive BME.

I wouldn't worry about BMEs as well if I earned hundreds of thousands of dollars or even millions:)

I had a BME a couple of months ago.  This month is a very, very good month.  Too close to call whether it will be a BME yet.

Been with SS about 3 years and the last 3 months have been the best ever there. :) I upload about 6-8 photos a week with close to 1000 images online.

I almost had a BME last month (April), short for $15. This month is a very good month too.
March 2009 was my a BME.  Been with Shutterstock more 5 years.

Yup. Been there 5+ years and BME October of 2008. Been close a few times. The whole market has been flat for a couple of years.

Thanks all your info. Prior years appear to have been better although I had a BME in March this year.

At least SS is not acting as strange as any other agency, that's for sure.

And nothing affects it, for instance if you upload more and even when you also upload content of the best quality you can possibly produce? I'd like to know because I have nothing to compare to, this month was really a pleasant surprise, almost without ULs. But OTOH I did upload a series in mid April, that sells well, especially one photo has the best DL/month ratio so far. And I have another from February that still keeps on selling really well.

I noticed on the buyers page they changed the layout a little (at least on firefox).  Instead of a dropdown for newest, popular etc. on the right side, there were large buttons on the left side "Random, Newest, Popular"  If wonder if more buyers are using different search algorithms with the buttons more obvious (and not a drop down) on the left side.

I saw that yesterday and I think it's very intuitive and useful this way rather using the pulldown menu.

I can see buyers toying with this layout more actively. Hopefully that means tons of sales for all of us...

yeah, it seems a little easier to just click the 'random' button for kicks, or whatever other search method that isn't usually used.. which should boost 'unseen' image sales a little.  I wonder if new images won't also get another little boost.

Ha, I thought I saw a button yesterday that said "Oldest". Probably useless and therefore dumped.

I think it helps to un-clutter the layout so it's not packed with features all hidden in pulldown menus.

It's more obvious and faster to reach. I think it was worth the re-design. Looking at my sales today so far it worked wonders  8)

Nice to see not all that started back on 04 aren't stagnating. I just hope I'll be able to do it, if I ever reach 4+ digit montly income.

Well, it looks like IS may be able to keep up with SS this month, but only with SS On-Demand  ;D ;D ;D
I had several ELs, pretty good sub sales - and May is already a BME.
IS and SS used to be more or less equal for me, now SS is light-years ahead...
IS is sinking.
